So, I used to recommend this place a lot. However, a couple of years ago I took my car in to get the brakes fixed and a sensor reset. Picked it up the sensor was reset and I was told everything was fine when they drove it, paid the bill and left. Got in the car and the first time I put on the brakes... The awful grinding sound was still there. They only changed one set of brakes. Immediately took it back in. The owner of the shop is amazing apologized and had his employee take me home after he said "oh I didn't know I needed to check all the brakes" to which I asked "so the grinding sound sounded safe to you when you drove it???" I refrained from changing my review because he fixed the issue and didn't charge me labor, and he had been so helpful and honest prior times. Fast forward to last week. We take my husband's SUV in. "We need a tune up, breaks changed, it stalled on us at a red light and it's been rumbling, taking it on a road trip so we need it to run smoothly and thoroughly checked. " First I made an appointment and they couldn't find us in their books. They still got us in so ok. They called us the next day ... "It's ready" I ask "ok so spark plugs are good? battery is good? It's not rumbling or anything? Did you find anything wrong?" "No we changed the brakes the rotors and fixed the wheel bearing and you're good to go" (all cleared through us prior and asked THEN as well if everything else was checked and to please be certain as the 6month old is coming with us we can't break down) great! Pick it up runs decent something still seemed off but I'm no car expert I just have Google 🤷🏽‍♀️. Next day get in the SUV and it's rumbling WORSE than it was when we took it in. Over it, we booked an appointment with a different auto shop. Still keeping it two stars because I like the owner and if he works on your car it's fine. But his employees obviously need some help.

Very busy repair shop. I made an appointment and was there 15 minutes early. They took my car right in and they were done quicker than expected. I checked Google to get a range on the price and the bill for the repair came in on the low end. Very pleased and will recommend them to all

This place does quality work at a reasonable price (just take your vehicle somewhere else and get a quote and compare, you'll see!). I'd recommend them 100% of the time to anyone needing car/truck repair. If you're not in the Fern Creek area, the quality of work and honesty are worth the extra miles!

They do a great job. They are always quick and fair. In a world where it's hard to be able to trust some mechanics these guys are straight up.

This is definitely my favorite shop in Louisville. The staff is extremely fair and don't mind explaining issues to someone who may not have a lot of mechanical knowledge.

I have came here for all my needs. They do honest work and never over charge. I keep all my receipts and never had anything change on me. They use good oil and quality parts. When I bought my car I noticed I needed to get my hub bearings replaced and called around for prices. My friend recommended this place to me so I called them last. It so happened that they gave the best price out of the 5 other places I called in the fern creek area. You will likely have to make an appointment and drop it off earlier in the day if able and they will call you when it’s done and ready to be picked up. I drive a 2011 Honda Civic and they keep it running good. Every time they changed it (I do it now) they looked to see if tires need rotating, check air filters and brakes as well. They are thorough. I can easily recommend this place.

My husband was referred to this auto shop by a neighbor when we moved to this area over a year ago, and he has been routinely pleased with the great service, honesty and work done on our cars. They are very reasonably priced, too. In fact, they didnt even charge for a couple of evaluations performed on an older truck we had when they either couldn't fix it or we desired to wait until a later time for a repair. If you're looking for a great place for auto service, I would highly recommend Fern Creek Auto Repair!!

They replaced a starter for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500. Napa part for anyone off the street was 171. Businesses get a very nice discount. This company added a very nice price hike and charged 239.58. Time to put the part on was 30 minutes. Labor for 30 minutes worth of work. Because you guys knows it was just about 3 bolts and connection to battery and silinoid. For that 30 minutes if labor... $153.60. The stone company that recommended this place. I want you to know what a rip off they are for out of state 60 yr old women. Very stick it to you if you're a woman and out of town. I do NOT recommend this rip off company. Highly unethical.

I love bringing my car here. It's very hard to find a mechanic who's a straight shooter and ACTUALLY fixes the problem instead of throwing parts at my car. I've been to these guys 3 times and I'd def recommend a friend. I have an 05 Kia who had one other owner and they never changed any parts so the mechanics here really help take care of my baby and switch out parts that are long over due

These guys are consummate professionals. They somehow seem to make running a full service auto repair shop not about cost. They're about being good to people and letting the rest fall into place. It works. There's a guy behind the counter that knows what hes talking about, cool stuff on the walls to look at, an old Coca Cola machine and a bunch of mechanics that know how to fix cars and treat people. It's exactly what getting your car fixed should be like. That's why there's usually not a lot of parking.

Quality service! Dave never does more than he has to and is always upfront about what has to be done and what might wait until next visit. I know when I leave, my car is road worthy and safe for my children. He's always busy but is able to work us into the schedule within a few days typically. I appreciate that the shop is good at keeping in touch with repairs, diagnostics and wait times. I don't have to worry about not hearing from anyone for days on end. Great shop with great staff. My whole family trusts Dave with our vehicles.

Honest car people. I can now relax when my car is being cared for. These guys are knowledgeable, can identify the problem and fix it at the quoted price.

When I had my Ford expedition, I had to get the underbody repaired, I priced 3 to 5 different places, and I was telling my barber about the experience and the rates I was getting, and my barber told me to go to fern creek auto and ask for Dave. So since it was just up thr road from where I get my haircut, I went to Fern Creek auto as soon as I was done. Fern Creek auto priced the same job at half the price of the other quotes I had received already! They were honest, set my appointment and got me done, and did a great job (imo)! I haven't been anywhere else with my vehicle since. That was 10 yrs ago. I have always gotten great service, great rates and and they do not price you on suggestions! I drive an 04 taurus. And they have kept it strong til this day! Obviously I HIGHLY recommend fern creek auto!!! One of the GREATS still out here!

Called for a quote on my suv, best one by far! Dropped it off on Sunday (key box) thinking at best 3 day wait...nope! Monday and done!!! My suv drives the best it has and at a very good price!!! They even put air in my tires ( it the little stuff I love) my new shop 100% (injector replace, tune up and gaskets)
