We ordered take out. Everything was delicious. Nice big fat meaty ribs. The catfish was crisp and flaky. Now they have banana pudding. I'm dying it was so good. I don't even mind the fact that they put whipped cream on it, and I hate whipped cream. But I gobbled that up like it was my last meal.

So this is not an easy review. This was one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Louisville. In fact, two years ago, I left a great review. I would be here every week before the pandemic. And during the last 18 months, it has truly gone downhill. In service, in food quality. Also, I have had a couple run-ins with a particular server in the past there and have just made a point to avoid him. His behavior had not been corrected and with this most recent incident, the fact that they keep him employed, I really can’t feel bad about posting this footage. I went in for my usual and waited for my order. Right after she placed my food down, I started to dig in. I was cutting the meat when a cockroach crawled along the table right past my arm. I got up from the table and started to record this while trying to get my server’s attention. The table next to me also noticed me recording the cockroach crawling around the table. At this point my server approached and I asked her to get the manager. I was just about to stop recording since I knew I had proof of the problem and the waitress also saw it. Then I noticed a second cockroach crawling along the table. Still recording, it was at this point that the other server (the individual I’ve had run-ins with before) decided to yell out to me. “What are you trying to do, run us out of business?!” That’s his first concern? Not that a customer was subjected to a disgusting experience?? The manager approached and saw the cockroaches still moving around and now crawling on the wall. She didn’t give me any hassle about leaving and not paying thankfully. But they also didn’t even try to kill the bugs. I mentioned to her the comment by the server and how this isn’t the first time he has acted ignorant. The general manager and I had a telephone conversation about the incident. The fact that he still works there tells me I don’t need to continue to patronize this establishment. For hygienic reasons as well as really poor customer service. Sadly, this place isn’t what it used to be.

The food is good. The menu was designed by a third grader. ?22.00 for the photo meal. Side portions ..... Go elsewhere!

Food was ok, warm but not hot, even he butter put on the muffin would not melt. Ribs where flavored but kinda tough, fish nuggets where close to being burnt. Waitress forgot some of our order items. This was the first time I’ve have a negative opinion of Famous Dave’s. Normally every thing is great. Haven’t been there in a while, will try again. Hope it was just a bad day for the restaurant

Very nice facility, neat and very clean. Employees were extra nice with excellent customer service and went above and beyond. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great at all, I don't know if it was the 20 minute ride home or what. Brisket Burnt Ends were dry/hard with no smoked flavor at all. Wife didn't like the taste of her chicken tender, fries and mac n cheese at all, I had to cook her a meal at home. I'll give them another try one day, it will definitely be dine-in.

Service was friendly enough but food was subpar. It’s been a few years since I have visited the restaurant and I remembered it being very good. The brisket was not especially tasty and it was a little tough. It also arrived lukewarm just barely above room temperature. I didn’t really care for the flavor all that much. It seem to me that it might’ve been sitting around a few days. The brisket was placed a top a piece of toast which was dry and hard. The barbecue chicken was adequate but nothing exemplary. The steamed broccoli on both was what you would expect for steamed broccoli. Adding a little salt and pepper helped. Maybe they could add a little butter or seasoning to jazz up the broccoli some. The corn muffin was the winner for the meal as it was sweet and tasty. We also ordered an appetizer with fried pickles and they were very good. Overall I wasn’t really impressed with the meats. There are better choices in town. There wasn’t much of a lunch crowd there so perhaps Covid has had a direct impact. It’s a shame because I remember Dave’s being such a good place for barbecue and the Fixin‘s.

Food is great everytime I dine here . Service is always friendly and great . Place is always clean even if busy . I would recommend this place . Kid friendly , handicap parking near door and has a ramp for wheelchairs . I can't share anything about deserts because I'm always to full to have desert .

Great food usually. Tonight the Burnt ends were not as caramelized as normal. It was good but not Great. Small crowd for a Friday night. We need to get back to Dave's and bring it back to life again

Went for lunch during the week, getting there at 1pm. Parking lot was nearly empty. Went in and no one ever made an attempt to greet us, even after calling out "Hello! Anyone here?" Waited about 5 minutes then left. Went to Smokey Bones instead.

Famous Dave’s is by far the best bbq this side of the Mississippi! The margaritas on the rocks are delish!! And that cornbread muffin, honey it’s the best!! Always fresh and hot! You will love it and don’t forget the different flavors of bbq sauce to try! Enjoy!

We drove all the way from Cincinnati to dine here. On a Saturday evening the wait time to be seated was 15 minutes. Everything was clean. The staff was pleasant. The food was OUTSTANDING! I've been to about 15 Famous Dave's across the country and this one definitely upheld the usual standard. Our waitress was great and total we spent $200. So another win for Famous Dave's! OH, I took away a star because they lost our order and it caused us to have to wait an hr for food. But when it came out it was hot and fresh, and plentiful.

The food is amazing! Me and my boyfriend go there a lot. My boyfriend gets the grilled cheese and pulled chicken sandwich and he loves it. I've tried a bunch of different stuff on the menu and I've liked all of it. The sides are a little weird I recommend you stick with the fries. The waiter we always get is very friendly and good at his job. He's the only one I've seen for lunch and he does a great job taking care of everyone in the restaurant. Our drinks always stay full and we're never left wondering where our waiter went. All around a great place!

Liz was absolutely the best waitress we have had in a long time at any restaurant. Wish we could just take her with us to be our waitress every where we go out to eat. This was my boyfriend and my first time eating here. Liz helped us with picking stuff off the menu. I would definitely recommend the flying pig drink. It was so delicious that I had two of them. I posted the happy hour menu if you want to see it.

Wife and I go to this place at least 1 every two months or so and normally all is good till last night 3/25/23. We ask the hostess for a booth and we were told they had none available but, to our right we could see at least two available. She said they had a table near the bar so we followed but, again saw 3 open booths on that side. So we asked if we could be seated at one, the hostess then basically threw the menus on the table at the booth and just walked away. The server was good the food not so much. Ordered a pick three with an extra side of broccoli. The broccoli was the only item (besides the Cole slaw of course) that were hot, ribs were cold, chickin was barely warm along with the cat fish and the mashed potatoes. Not a deturant in returning but, if it were to happen again probably.

I haven't been to Arby's in a long time (they're out of my tax bracket), but I'd give almost anything for a plate exactly as pictured above. That alone makes me want to go. Good job, Arby's. My star rating is what I remember the last time I was there. Arby's always hires good people and always has a nice, calm atmosphere. Arby's is a class act in my book. Always has been.

Famous Dave's is BBQ bliss! Finger-licking ribs, flavorful sauces, and friendly service. A BBQ lover's paradise.

Famous Dave's is a great restaurant. Excellent BBQ and sides live the half and half sweet tea with lemon. Nice staff. Cornbread is excellent.

Portions were large however the Texas brisket was not smoked nearly enough time. It was tender enough but the fatty side is usually more tender than the dry side anyway. The meat had zero flavor. I asked for the dry side and got the fatty side and was told that was the dry side guaranteed. I have cooked several hundred briskets having just moved here from Texas and believe me I know what the dry side is and this was not it. When I cook a whole brisket I would give away the fatty side and only eat the dry side. I also know what a correct smoke ring looks like and this brisket had none. Typically my brisket smokes for 14 to 16 hours to get the flavor of the wood into the meat. Obviously, this did not happen at this establishment. My server was excellent by the way.

I am confused. Ordered thru Uber Eats from Fame Grilled Cheese. Address is same as Famous Dave's. Spent $98.00 for six meals. Supposed to get soup with grilled cheese. No soup. Burger was not dressed with lettuce and tomatoes. Got mac and cheese . Nobody liked it. It has corn and green peppers in it...who knew? $9.00 for a grilled cheese. Should have made it at home! Never again!

This place has gone downhill recently. My husband and daughter got the ribs and I got the chicken sandwich. All 3 were really burnt and charred. We also had a random extra beverage charge. Not sure if I was charged $3 for a water or why it was there but it was tacked on at the bottom of the receipt. The service was fine and waitress was nice. My daughter loved this place but asked us to not go back anymore.

Amanda was nasty and short. I hope they love her. She will singularity put them out of business. We will not visit until she is gone. 500$ more in my pocket.

Ordered 2 meat combo. Muffins were burned (and I ordered an extra one). Ordered the same thing a week ago. Got Pickles last time, got onions this time. Inconsistent with the same order. Also ordered a slice of Cheesecake. It was warm when it arrived. Not a good lunch for 38 dollars.

The food was very good! I didn't really care for the Cole slaw. I only wish that they had more side items to choose from! We had great service with a simple laid-back atmosphere!

Stopped in on a Thursday night , walked in door a few minutes before 8:30pm. As we were walking in I heard a one worker telling another you should have locked the door. After we set down we were told we needed to hurry up and order because the kitchen is closing. We ordered drinks , ribs and brisket. Waiter returned after a minute and said they were out of sweet tea , we ordered Pepsi then. After a couple more minutes he arrived with the food. My wife ordered the ribs , which were very good , broccoli was hardly cooked and corn on the cob , good. I ordered brisket , like shoe leather and Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, they were good. After he gave us our food and was leaving my wife asked , don't we get corn muffins , he replied they were out. My advice if it's within an hour of closing don't go to this Dave's. We will not be back.

On Wednesdays, I take advantage of the $5 sandwich special. I typically get one pork and one beef sandwich. While the pork is usually just fine, the beef is invariably very dry. They used to offer beef brisket on these sandwiches, but sometime ago they switched to shredded beef. When they used brisket, the quality was consistently much better.

Getting kind of disappointed with their food last couple time looks so good but isn’t up to usual standards. And the women’s bathroom is disgusting and the locks are literally taped on 🤦‍♀️ was kind of disappointed in the veterans meal as well. Which is the reason I went but ended up not getting it just ordering something else.

Our waiter was super kind and polite. If you had any questions, he explained it perfectly. Food was delicious! The experience and environment was great. No complains here. Loved it and would go to again.

My family and I came in couple weeks ago as we love us some famous Dave’s! food was amazing and our sever Cloe was great! Only thing we didn’t enjoy was the young couple that decided to argue in the lobby, you can tell the waiter was not trying to argue with the young lady that came from the back but she was not happy with him. Me personally some couples shouldn’t work together 🤷🏽‍♀️ Only reason I’m posting this is because we came back and ate Monday afternoon and jack was are waiter and did a good job we did not see the young lady that was upset with him! Food was great last night also! Thank you famous Dave’s.

We went online and checked their hours which clearly stated they were open until 9pm on Mondays. We then drove 30 minutes to get there, and arrived at 8:25pm to find the doors locked. We assumed it was a mistake, because there 7 or 8 tables full, so we went in the pick up entrance only to be greeted by a waitress rudely asking how we got in. I quickly responded that the door says they are open until 9pm, to which she said they closed the kitchen at 8:30. The whole thing was frustrating and confusing plus the waitress was just rude about all of it.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server was attentive and gave us a great recommendation. The food was pretty good, and the drinks were strong (probably too strong)

It was my first time here and it was a good experience. Host welcomed us as we came in and sat us down immediately. Server was friendly and professional. Our brisket sandwich was up there with the best I ever had. I posted the old Coca-Cola sign, because they have them throughout the restaurant. However, don't be fooled, they don't carry Coke products. They don't have any Pepsi signs, but they have Pepsi. Go figure. I went for the sweet tea and it was good. Still, a good place to stop for good food.

The meat was good. The Chicken wasn't dry. This is my thing though...All 3 bbq sauces and the cornbread muffins were sweet. Because bbq sauce was on my chicken, it was sweet too. I skipped bbq sauce on my brisket or that would have been sweet also. I am not a fan of sweet meals. Sweet is for dessert! Also, when did making a decent piece of Texas toast get so complicated. Every restaurant has gone to buying the premade toast that comes frozen. It looks right, but it is not crispy or buttery and not even cooked on both sides... that must cost extra. It is spongy and bland. It depresses me when i realize yet one more restaurant that can't grill a live of bread. The service was good, and the place was nice, and if my husband or son were leaving this review, they would probably give it 4 or 5 since they like sweet everything.
