Outside appearance does not compare to the experience inside! Brittany (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) greeted, seated and waited on my husband and me promptly. We ordered the Bruschetta de Milantoni as our appetizer, which was the perfect texture and so tasty. Our entrees included Catalina Florentine (suggested to me by “B” when I told her what I was deciding between), and Mediterraneo. Both dishes were served hot, in good time, and we were blown away by portion size and how delicious they were; my mouth is still watering! Not only did my husband and I have leftovers from our entrees, we ordered a Cannoli and 16” White Pizza Pie (w/o tomatoes) to go! What a delightful establishment- quaint and friendly with mood setting Italian music playing in the background. We will DEFINITELY be back!

I was pleasantly surprised. Food, prices and service were very good. Most disappointing was the Caesar salad - it was just romaine, home made croutons and a very unoriginal dressing. It wouldn't take much to bring this up a notch. The chicken piccata was fantastic! As was the sauce. Chianti was fresh. The gave us free flat bread with marinara which was a nice touch.

The food here has gone utterly downhill. The ingredients are not fresh. My chicken tasted like a fried chicken patty. The Alfredo sauce tasted like gravy - no cheese flavor at all. The sweet tea tasted like it was 5 days old. When we told our server about these issues she just laughed. The meat in the calzone is not the same meat they used previously. I understand that food prices have increased but I would pay more money if the quality remained the same. I will not eat at this location again.

First let's start with the service it was awesome. It was not overbearing but did not forget about us either. The food was just amazing. I might rank this as the best Italian I have had in the area. The only thing close is the comeback Inn in Jeffersonville. I had the pepper onion and sausage pasta, my wife took the tour of Italy, and the kids got pizza. The pizza was great, tasted homemade. The sauses were mine blowing, and my wife said the lasagna was mind blowing good. I highly recommend this place.

WOW... Great food.. this place has a very cozy atmosphere.. good staff.. and for a small place wait time wasn't bad.. The food... BIG portions.. you won't leave hungry.. I had the fettuccine Alfredo (pictured) my partner had calzon also pictured... Again for a Saturday night The wait wasn't bad... And promise it's well worth the wait

Super cute restaurant!! The staff was so friendly , very warm and inviting. This was my first time visiting and the only reason i took a star away is because i felt rushed to get my order. I had my 4 kiddos with me so it took a little while to figure out what to eat. But othe than that the food was very delicious and fresh. I will definitely come back.

First time ordering (Uber eats) so I am guessing on atmosphere, but I did call to touch base with the restaurant before the deliver and the woman I spoke with could not have been nicer! Despite it being delivered (I’m about 2.5 miles away) the food was hot, and DELICIOUS! I cannot wait to try it again! Highly recommend. Obviously the photos show how it arrived before I replated it!

I am recommending this place to whoever is reading this; I love the small business simplicity of it. Prices are fantastic! Clearly they are going through some small business adjustments ( such as the alcohol license) but that shouldn't keep this place from succeeding long term. My main critique would be for them to do the easy things they can do without question. If the drive-thru is no longer an option, take down the sign. Other than that, keep it up! I am rooting for your success

This place is always highly rated in reviews ! So we decided to try . Service was slow but acceptable. The real issue here is food quality . This food was a combo of Fazolis and frozen food in the grocery freezer area . Very watery , very blah , and my wife’s ravioli was cold in middle . The biggest issue is management and handling issues . After letting the server know she just said sorry, and never offered to even try and serve us warmer ravioli. I should have listened to the negative reviews . To make matters worse they don’t help resolve issues at time of purchase , but “someone usually responds in here saying , they hope we try again and ask for a manager ! Why ??? We told the server how bad it was and no manager or supervisor once came and spoke with us . Definitely won’t return and definitely believe the reviews are skewed by friends and family as the food was awful .

We had a bad experience when wanting to get dinner, soon after they opened. We walked in expecting to have dinner in a reasonable amount of time, only a couple of cars in lot. We were totally ignored by staff when we walked in. After standing at the door for a couple of minutes we had to approach the staff to inquire about a table, we were told there would be a 30+ minute wait for service, with only a few tables being occupied? The staff could have cared less if we were there. At that point, we left and do not plan to return. The staff was rude and uninterested. This is a very poorly run establishment. We've heard from a number of people who've had similar experiences. I'm not sure how they are still in business. Based on our initial experience, we have not and will not return to give them a second chance.

I was visiting the area and looking for decent non-chain Italian food. Discovered Milantoni's from a quick Google search and decided to try. Ordered 5 dishes for take out. The restaurant is off the highway right in front of a Red Carpet motel and there was only 1 table of customers inside on a Friday night which worried me. Food was packaged and ready to go upon my arrival but when we got back to the hotel and opened everything, I discovered a dish missing. I called them and was quickly issued refund for the item. Staff was apologetic for the mistake. The dishes we did receive were good although the portions seemed uneven. For example, my daughters got pasta with sausage and peppers and shrimp Alfredo. The sausage and peppers had enough for 2 servings but the container with shrimp Alfredo was only 1/2 full.

This is one of my absolute favorite little Italian joints. The food is always great (and very affordable). The staff is super friendly and they have an adorable, cozy aesthetic. I highly recommend!

One of the best Italian restaurants in Louisville. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. What's on the inside is great food and terrific service. The menu gives you a lot more choices of Italian food than the more expensive restaurants in the area. I ordered the Tour of Italy and it was enough food for two. Needless to say I had plenty of leftovers for later. The quality of the food is really great. The prices on the menu are really great as well. If you decide to eat in, call first for availability. Once inside be prepared to wait just a little while because the food is made to order, which is a good thing. Your pasta was not sitting in Luke warm water for hours and your sauce wasn't getting charred on the bottom. Be sure to check out their $5.99 lunch specials during the week days!

One of my absolute favorite Friday night haunts! Never disappoints. They have a violinist who plays while you eat on Friday nights he is wonderful..The have recently remodeled and it is looking fantastic. The food is always amazing. The fettuccine and red sauce both are top notch. So any dish you have from chicken to seafood to pizza are great. The staff are always friendly and helpful! We return again and again. My family loves this.place! ❤️

Best Alfredo I've ever had. The sauce was very flavorful. Ingredients tasted quality and fresh. I was most grateful that the order was correct and all items included. That is rare for Uber Eats.

Good place to start an Italian Restaurant…someday. Got there at 5:30. They did not have Lasagna or meat Ravioli even though on the menu. Were they out of ground beef? They only stocked two varieties of wine…Chardonnay and a sweet red. And my lady friend got the last glass they had of Chardonnay…at 5:30 on a Friday evening. She said she’d never seen a lot of cars there. Now we know why!

Milantoni Italian Restaurant offers a delightful experience with their Pasta Florentina. The setting is both beautiful and elegant, adding to the overall charm. The authenticity of the dish truly stands out, showcasing the genuine flavors and techniques of Italian cuisine. Highly recommend trying this dish at Milantoni for a truly memorable dining experience.

Nice casual place with great Italian food and friendly service. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is nice inside and every time we've been there, we enjoyed live violin music which enhances the atmosphere. The menu is reasonably priced and the food is great.

We called ahead and there was no wait so decided to give it a try. That should have maybe been a red flag. When we got in and were seated by a worker randomly pointing to the center of the room, but no one came to take our drink order or even provide menus. It was myself and husband and 2 kids. He wanted to just leave after 10 minutes of 0 acknowledgment we were there but I noticed workers kept poking their heads out and looking at us. So I got up and asked the kitchen if anyone was going to come and bring menus and weight on us. A huffy waitress finally came out and kind of apologized. After that it took nearly 20 minutes for appetizers and then another 20 for our meals. We were literally the only ones seated in the main part of the place. My husband liked his carbonara but the penne dish I got was nothing as described. The sauce was flavorless and runny. The chicken was completely undercooked. In any other situation I would have sent it back but we had already waited so long and my kids were getting antsy. There are many other much better Italian places in Louisville to eat that have great customer service. I would not return to this one. I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews posted before mine. Our experience does not seem unique. This place feels like they are doing you a big favor by doing their jobs and waiting on you. And we were nice and courteous even after being ignored. Skip this one.

Server was friendly and helpful and efficient. Food was fantastic. Bruschetta bread was perfect. Carbonara chicken was absolutely delicious. And cheese ravioli was amazing. Atmosphere is quiet and open.

Amazing Italian place. The food was excellent! Great place to grab a meal while in Louisville! Ordered the tricolored tortellini, outstanding! Bread is served on the table.

We tried Milantoni for the first time last night- ordered carry out for our anniversary dinner. The tri-color tortellini and fettuccine were very good. The cannoli for dessert was excellent!

Every meal I’ve had at Milantoni has been excellent. Just left dinner with my wife. Two wonderful entrees, live violinist, wine, and limoncello. Remodeled to perfection. Ignore any bad reviews…they simply are wrong. Don’t worry about the lack of a real entrance from Hurstbourne. This place is a pleasant surprise every single time. Reasonable prices as well.

The server we had seemed to be very inexperienced, however with some potential. The server was very polite and pleasant. Calzone was very large and good tasting. Although my wife's salad and meal came out at the same time and she was about half way through her meal before mine came out.

Good sized portion for the cost. Everything was nice and hot. Nice little local shop as an alternative option from driving really far for some place bigger.

As of today we have made two trips here and found the restaurant closed. They do close from 2:00 to 4:00. But we were here at 4:30. Today is Sunday June 19th 2022. I called the bardstown location and asked them thinking that perhaps they were going to open later. The lady said she would call me back 2 hours later no call back. There was no signage on the door indicating they were closed. All signage indicate the restaurant was open from 11: 00 to 9:30. They have great food but with gas $5 a gallon I probably won't be making any more trips. Nearly 60 miles one way. I was going to go to the Bardstown location but couldn't even get them back by phone to find out the information about their location to visit. They do have good food

First time here. Came for lunch. Excellent food and excellent prices. One tea and two of the specials: Ziti and Combo Calzone... $16.40! The calzone was HUGE and tasty. The ziti could use some more zing to it, but red pepper flakes helped. Service was fine. Staff was amiable. Highly recommended. The only thing to make it better... if they served beer and wine. They said it was coming. Well… Beer and wine came (even when your food may not). The service at Milano, sadly, is mostly terrible. I’ve been in and just never gotten my food when the rest of the table did. I had to cancel my order. I’ve been in when it has taken 2 hours to get food. The servers generally not very pleasant, don’t engage at all, never offer suggestions, and don’t (or pretend not to) understand anything you say. They really don’t care if you’re there or not, it seems. They’ll refill your unsweetened with sweet tea over and over again. The food is still very good and reasonably priced (why we keep going back). Portions are large. My five star initial review from when they first opened has dropped to a three due to customer care. May even should be a two for that.

I really enjoyed the violinist that was playing tonight it was a different atmosphere that I really enjoyed but my favorite thing of the whole restaurant honestly was the statue by the side door now I wish I would have taken a selfie with him LOL but I did manage to sneak one by his self. I did feel like it took a super long time for my order I don't know if they're short staffed or something else but for to go order I feel like it should have been a little bit more timely.

Friday nights an amazingly talented violinist plays a wonderful selection of dining music. A glass of Merlot, delicious pasta, and soothing music made my night. I highly recommend this friendly, family restaurant.

A warm, charming Italian restaurant tucked away behind the highway, Milantoni is a good place for a meal. When you enter the restaurant, you feel like you're in a warm, welcoming place that's ready to serve you, as music plays and you get a look at the hanging Mona Lisa portrait above the register. After having come in today for the first time, I was treated kindly by a good waiting staff, and supplied with pretty decent food. A plate of bread sticks with marinara was provided to the table, as shown in the picture below. I tried the Tri-Colored Tortellini, which was good. I will be back to try some other options, such as the spaghetti in the future!

  • 5/5 Christian R. 2 years ago on Google
Apps, main course, and dessert were amazing! The best was the violinist that played everything! I mean everything Despacito, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, eye of the tiger, final countdown… I could go on!! Fantastic experience and I’m so happy we found this place while visiting Louisville!
