No matter the season Central Park is always beautiful. Now they have Shakespeare in the park and all kinds of different performances. With the spring comes a new edition of the playground. A slice of heaven in the big city.

Nice park in Old Louisville America's largest Victoria neighborhood. Worth a visit, especially when Shakespeare plays happen in the summer.

We enjoyed watching the incredibly talented cast of Shakespeare in the Park perform "Twelfth Night" in this beautiful park.

It's a nice park. That being said it is overgrown with tal grass and weeds because apparently it's not essential to maintain the lawns during the over hyped pandemic. Three the water splash fountain playground was shut down. I spent about 30 minutes picking up trash near the playground area. The swings were all missing. My girls still had fun on the playground slides and monkey bars. The police were polite from their substation at the park and didn't hassle us for letting the children play.

Nice park in Old Louisville just south of downtown. Plenty of events mostly free held there spring through fall. Plenty of space for the kids to play. Every year they have Shakespeare in the Park, and St. James Art Fair at the park and the area around it. Lots of paths to walk around. Dog friendly. They have tennis courts. Great place to go and relax and enjoy mother nature. Plenty of places to sit down.

We were able to attend Louisville‘s Shakespeare in Central Park this past Saturday. It was a collaboration between Shakespeare in the park and the Louisville ballet that presented Lady M. We had a grandson in the ballet preshow that was an excellent opportunity for the children. And then we were treated to the ballets Lady M. It was excellent! The seating at Central Park is comfortable. We had a great dinner at the food trucks. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

Central Park has a vibe all its own. Cool, comfortable, and even in this day and age, it feels safe. I was there with friends to enjoy the Jazz music festival but it's great anytime just to chill and relax.

Love this park. The people are friendly and my dog loves the long walk and chasing the squirrels 😂

Gorgeous Old Louisville Park. Amphitheater hosts Shakespeare in the Park in the summers, and there is an awesome disability-inclusive playground with slides, swings, and other aspects tailored to be accommodating. Splash park is in the works too! Underrated area to hang out in Louisville.

I love this Park. I take my little Dixie for walks here about everyday. It's nice to see the children playing in the new playground, people playing tennis, and Shakespeare in the park. A great place for meeting other friendly people. Hope to see you all soon.

Gorgeous, well shaded, beautiful trees, heart (ish) of Old Louisville. Easy access to downtown if driving, along metro bus line.

Great Park To walk thru. Or just sit. U don't have to play tennis, or be walking your dog. I have walked there. Then I just sat down and enjoyed the park. So many people act like it's a SIN just to stop and sit these days. I DO. In the Mall, or on a Street Corner. Sometimes I just enjoy the fresh air.Life is to short. Sometimes just go out and get a breath of fresh air. Life is to short now enjoy it. Sometimes people forget we live in America .We can make our on choices, not others.

I only go to this park for the theatre performances at dusk. The stage and seating are lovely, clean, well lit; we take a picnic and our own chairs, but there is plenty of bench seating for the stage. There is a police substation in the back corner of the park, so I feel safe there

Great park, and it’s next to a police station. Which makes me feel a little safer. Took my kids for a play, I haven’t been to this park in a long time. Very clean park!!

Located in the heart of Old Louisville, which has one of the countries largest concentration of Victorian Homes, Central Park is one of the oldest parks in Louisville KY.

The playground is under construction but the rest is very cool. Lots of tall old trees. And when summer is here Shakespeare in the Park.

This is a beautiful park. Got to think about a lot of folks I love as I strolled thru the park. Nature always arouses my soul. Had great conversation over a game of Yahtzee with Nate Higgins. Thanks Love.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday by catching Kentucky Shakespeare’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Phenomenal! Central Park is fantastic and so welcoming.

I love Shakespeare in the Park programs, but because of the pandemic this was my first visit to Kentucky Shakespeare in Central Park. Well-organized website explains what plays are shown, what food is available, etc. Picnic tables are available to eat your own dinner beforehand or the food sold at the food trucks. Clean bathrooms. Park-bench-type seating for the play (bring a cushion.) There are no bad seats. Fun "opening act" before the play. The actors are excellent, professional, and the stage is well-lit. The stage incorporates nearby trees and is quite lovely. Pre-show activity tent for children. Bring some cash for when they ask for donations during intermission. Bring a flashlight to find your way back to your car. An excellent evening!

Have been to Central Park over the years to see Shakespeare in the Park. The security guard that was there after the party was really nice and made sure we got to our vehicles ok since several of us were still there well after the play ended. Would recommend going there to see a play. You can bring a blanket in sit in the grass or camp chairs too. I would recommend to bring bug spray and some kind of cushion for the benches. They can become hard to sit on after a few hours.

Don't mind the homeless, they're harmless.. The squirrels are freaky though. Nice stroll overall, always. Events, wisteria, tennis, playground and benches.

Nice Park in old Louisville. Great tennis courts, playground area is a bit unkept (overgrown grass, no swings) You probably wouldn't want to be here at night but there is a police sub station right on the property

This is a beautiful park in the middle of Louisville that everyone can enjoy. It has an ampitheater where Shakespeare's plays along with others are performed and enjoyed outdoors, free of charge. (Donations are accepted and encouraged for "free Will" to continue.) This park is also close to St. James Court that borders on the south edge of the park and is where the well-loved St. James Art Festival is held every year on the first Saturday of October. Central Park is part of a citywide large park system, created by the same gentleman who created Central Park in New York, Frederick Law Olmstead. We are proud of our parks in East, West, South, Northwest, and Central Louisville. Each has unique features to be enjoyed.

Used to be a fun playground, but now neglected, decommissioned, and unsafe. The grounds are beautiful in the fall though.

Shakespeare in the park is always a good time. My wife and I enjoy the plays and then find a place to get ice cream. If you go and see a site, bring a few dollars to help support the program, it's well worth it.

Lovely little park. Lots of trees to block out the sun on hot days and to keep your dogs cooler when walking them. There is a cute amphitheater in the park as well.
