Please do not stay here. We stayed at this hotel to attend the Bourbon and Beyond festival. My family and I woke up with bug bites all over our bodies and face. After inspecting the bed we saw bed bugs all over. The staff at the front desk were kind but this is just unacceptable. We paid for 5 nights. At first they were only going to give us a refund for the days we stayed instead of a whole refund for the days we paid for. It’s ridiculous that we even had to fight for a full refund. There wasn’t even an immediate reaction to go and clean the room right away. It seems like this may be a problem they know about. Now we have to find another hotel at the last minute to stay at. Just a nightmare. If you stay here, CHECK THE BEDS. I would have preferred if they reimbursed us for the new hotel we have to check in at in addition to the refund. Just a nightmare. Pay the extra money to stay somewhere that cares about their customers safety and comfort.

Service was fine. It would probably be fine for adults, but for a family I wouldn’t recommend. The rooms smell faintly like smokers hung out in it (not like they had actually been smoked in recently). Found a couple small and large bed bugs in one bed in the morning after finding blood spots on the bed. 😶 and while I think the rooms were “cleaned” it was so worn out it didn’t “feel” clean. Closets had doors missing and fixtures loose and hanging. Also, walked into the reception and the floors smelled like they had been mopped with a wet dog. Breakfast wasn’t great. Cheerios were stale. Muffins were good. Only real positive was sheets were clean and beds comfortable. Would actually be a cute styled room if it wasn’t falling apart and bed bugs (again only found on one bed). We decided to go next door as they gave us a deal for a three nights stay for almost the same price.

So disappointed! Be careful when booking here!!! I rented a room and all I did was leave to take my bf to work and stopped at McDonald's for takeout& came back to housekeeping already clearing my room out & had all my stuff in the trash! My money I had in my bag they threw away was gone too. I still had 3-4 hours til checkout too! Like I don't even feel safe laying down these last few hours I have left, wondering if they gone come in on me when I'm sleeping or if I'm gone get robbed again! Such a shame!

I was first given a key to a room currently occupied by someone. I went back to the front desk to report this error and was given another room. Neither the air conditioning nor heat would even power on in this room and the entire unit wasn't new, but it was covered in and around something that looked like sawdust. I called the front desk and a person came up who called a guy, who told him how to get the AC to work, and it then did, but he then just shrugged when I asked about all the sawdust. I also have concerns about safety as one of the back doors that gave access to the whole motel was just propped wide open and people were just walking in and out like this was something commonly done there, so it didn't feel like the safest place in the world either. It's in a decent neighborhood, but it gives off the feeling that the whole place could bring the neighborhood down with it, in my humble opinion.

The customer service was terrible and they gave away our room. We had a room booked for two nights, when we arrived at the hotel after our 8 hr drive they told us they were fully booked and had given someone else our room because “we had not checked in on time” as we got there at 1am and check in is from *as he put it* “3pm-12pm”?? makes sense. I explained to him that on the reservation it states very clearly that check in is from 3pm-anytime. He was very short tempered/rude and continued to repeat the same thing over. There was no empathy or sympathy shown and he had no recommendations on how to resolve the issue, whether that be finding a room or helping us find another location.

The hotel itself is in a good location. The rooms are worn and just overall unclean. The hallways smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. The walls are paper thin. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

This place was one of the nastiest hotels I’ve stayed in. The halls smell like smoke and cat piss. The elevator didn’t work and my family had to walk up three flights of stairs. There is a vibe of a motel not a hotel. It’s cool if you need a place to rest for a night or two but trust you will be uncomfortable. The beds are uncomfortable and the room’s smell funny. The AC unit is from 1982 and never been cleaned. My family only stayed one night and I felt like that was one night to many. They need to give the photographer a big tip for taking such deceiving photos of the hotel because it’s not what you see online. It’s like having on beer goggles 😬

Awful. The moment we walked into the “lobby” and I use the term loosely, it smelled like marijuana. We were hoping the room would be okay but we were wrong. The room smelled like stale smoke. We immediately called to the front desk to advise them we would not be staying. The gentlemen there were very polite and apologized. They informed us they they charge guests a $40 fee if they are found smoking. According to them, the guests just smoke and pay the fee. ????? The whole place just looked a little run down. I also read another review on here that indicated the guests found bed bugs in there room. 🤦‍♂️ Never again. We ended staying down the street at the TRU by Hilton. That was really nice and almost the same price.

Made the mistake of booking a room here. Place looks and smells like a damp cardboard box that someone smoked in, then proceeded to pee on. The smoke alarm beeping is a nice added touch. Really ties the place together. Way too overpriced for what it is.

Nice if you don't want amenities. There is no pool or exercise room. Rooms are good if you're in Louisville to do stuff or just want to rest. Nothing for kids. We were here to have a resting place after the show before going home next day. Good.

Very small bathroom. And the people that live here are loud. A man in a wheelchair keeps making so much noise and nothing is done! I hear doors slamming all day long. Dirty kitchen and walls. The refrigerator top was nasty and dusty. The cabinets are all dirty, I had to bleach it myself. would never rent here again.

Whoa. Walls are paper thin. Shower was very well worn. Rooms were very...uhh Spartan... all in all it served it's purpose but I won't be back. Dog friendly...

Booked via Priceline. In town working and arrived about 7:45pm. Took my shower and laid down after being in the heat all day. Woke up about 10pm to a party going on next door and to a couple on the other side of me displaying a bunch of moans and stamina for days. The TV and AC could barely drown out the noise. Spent $160 for 4 hours of sleep. The walls are wallpaper thin and they definitely do not enforce a non smoking policy because it wreaked of pot and tobacco all night. I would rather sleep in my car on the interstate. I’m about as restful as I would have been then. I usually stay at Hampton Inns but they were all booked yesterday.

My 1st visit here. I knew from reading up on it that it was no frills . I wasn't prepared for the level of nothingness offered. Upon entering the hotel i I had a 30 minute wait as the ONE employee was on the phone with a customer and their were 2 people in line in front of me. Ok, it's no frills I can accept this. I get to my room and im hit with a blast of 90+ degree air... seems they keep the ac off most of the time. I cranked the ac on and left to run some errands as then room was uninhabitable at that temp. When I returned an hour later it was at a suitable temperature so I unpacked.....well kind of. I uockly realized there was no space to hang any clothes or drawers to put things in so I left everything in my baggage . The rooms are about 1/3 the size of standard hotel rooms and they contain nothing more than a small TV and alarm clock. The price is really cheap and you get what you pay for. It's probably a good deal for many but I don't see myself ever choosing this brand again .

This place was just right for us. It was clean, comfortable and inexpensive. They really take care of this property. Everyone was friendly even the people who were staying there.

The staff here at microtel are very good receptionist. They're very professional and curious. Very polite and cordial. Rooms are super clean and very well stocked and cleaned after every single use highly recommend

Smelled like marijuana, dirty room, wanted us to pay cash instead of credit. Ended up leaving as soon as we saw the dirty room. Place is gross, staff and residents are questionable at best

Area is very nice and safe among nice hotels. Room was nice, but service to the room disappointing. We were there 5 nights - our room did not get cleaned but twice and only after verifying they are supposed to be made up everyday and speaking with a maid where English was her 2nd language. I would probably stay again, though.

Only stayed over night, so cant really comment on service because we didn't need any. The only thing that was a little annoying was the fact that they do not inform you that there is no microwave IN the room itself, however, the visitors "lounge" was fully stocked with the essentials. Which worked fine for me and my husband. Everywhere we had seen was very clean and the bed was nice, with crisp white sheets. A very good deal for what you get. Absolutely recommend to anyone that needs a place to lay there head. But may be too confined for restless children.

Good bang for buck. Clean room. Fridge but no microwave. Free decent small breakfast. Nice bathtub. Comfy bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Street noise. All things considered, I’ll be returning here again for the value.

After driving all afternoon, the wife and I decided to stop here at 3 in the morning. Needless to say, we we're quite tired. We were told it would be $73 for the night, and we agreed. We paid, but were so tired that we didn't even think to ask for a receipt. Anyways, a few days later there's a $116 charge on the credit card. WAY more thank what taxes and a couple fees should be. The room itself was tiny but fine. And the doors are paper thin. Got woken up to a family talking/yelling as they walked down the hallway. Stay here if you HAVE to, but keep the receipt!

For someone who visits Louisville once a month, this is my go to hotel. The staff is great and the sheets are usually clean. Great for the price.

Bed bugs, I get a specific allergic reaction to them. For sure bed bugs! The front desk moved my room but that was all. Also poor service with an argumentative attitude! 2 night stay with 2 separate issues. I will surely not be back!

Rooms are small but clean. Beds are comfortable. Very little space for luggage or clothing. Only 2 small drawers for storage. Customer service is nice. The hotel is pretty far out. It's off Blankenbaker Pkwy, however, there's lots of stuff close by, i.e. Thornton's, Speedway, McDonald's, other restaurants and stores.

Beware of low priced hotels: this does not deserve a 3 to 4 star rating. Walk in the lobby near breakfast area. It stinks of smoke and whatever; floors are filthy everywhere. Not even vacuumed. Desk personnel are fooling around and partying with friends while i wait to check in. Electrical outlet doesn't work. Bathroom was not fully furnished; tissue had not been sufficiently replenished. Phone not connected so had to go down to reception and interrupt a phone call to request tissue. Have stayed in another of these that is newer and kept clean; personnel are more respectful and businesslike. This one is not up to snuff in so many ways. Ok to sleep but not that pleasant. Just read about bed bugs here, omg too late to check out now. Didn't take time to read reviews before booking, big mistake!

The room was small, but everything necessary for an overnight or few day stay. A bed, nightstands on either side of the bed narrow desk with 2 chairs, & seat in the window . There's a small bathroom, no kitchenette. I really liked the size of the room, & it's contents, I was able to comfortably move around the room, & was comfortable in the room. The room was tidy, well kept. Over all the stay was very nice

First room we had gotten was rough and needed updated, so we relocated to a better room. Hallway smelled of cigarettes and seemed dirty as did the stairs.

I really enjoyed my time here! The breakfast was really good and the people are nice. I would definitely stay again.

Located near a nice commercial area so you are in close proximity to restaurant, store and gas options. The rooms are small, but its a Microtel. The rooms and hotel were fairly clean. It was quiet and the beds were within my comfort level. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a continental breakfast between 7 and 9 a.m. so get up early and get it before its gone. The hot options they have go quickly.

Would be five stars, but people hanging out the drs was spooky, other than that it's a good place, room was clean, guest service is good, coffee was hot, parking is a little bit tight

Place was clean but hallways smelled strongly of marijuana. Light bulbs burnt out and missing over desk. Was told by front desk that they would bring me bulbs but never did. Charged my card an extra $40 on my prepaid room which they have not recredited. I do not recommend this hotel!

We had pretty low expectations for this place after reading most of the reviews, but we needed something cheap and convenient so we stuck with our reservation and stayed for two nights. The hotel itself is not nice; however, the rooms were clean which is my main concern when staying somewhere. Had no issues with bugs either. They write your room number on your key, as a woman, this made me very uncomfortable checking in alone because surrounding guests were well aware where I would be. Overall, it was good for the price and would stay there again if other places are far more expensive.
