When
this
facility
was
a
Jewish
Hospital
facility,
patient
care
as
well
as
patient
access
to
get
into
the
facility
was
great.
Since
U
of
L
Healthcare
has
taken
over
it's
a
nightmare.
They've
eliminated
handicapped
parking
that
was
close
to
the
door
and
made
it
as
inaccessible
as
every
other
building
they've
designed.
Whomever
designs
these
facilities
is
much
more
focused
on
aesthetics
than
patient
care.
Sick
and
injured
people
can't
make
a
1/2
mile
trek
from
a
parking
lot
just
to
get
into
a
lobby.
Not
everyone
has
help
or
a
person
to
drop
them
off.
They've
made
every
UofL
building
parking
a
great
distance
to
the
door
in
all
of
their
facilities.
If
you
have
mobility
problems
and
you
have
nobody
to
drop
you
off
you're
out
of
luck.
I've
been
to
2
different
UofL
Orthopedic
clinics
where
the
offices
that
are
supposed
to
treat
people
with
broken
legs
and
other
injuries.
The
clinics
in
these
new
buildings
as
far
away
from
the
door
as
possible
and
down
extremely
long
corridors.
Literally
1/2
mile
in
one
care.
It's
a
complete
joke
how
little
thought
these
building
designers
have
put
into
thinking
about
the
patients
they
serve.
In
addition,
I've
been
to
the
Jewish
South
ER
many
times
over
the
years.
Since
University
of
Louisville
has
taken
over,
it
is
an
absolute
nightmare
and
I
will
never
go
back
there
again.
I
spent
8
hours
sick
and
in
tremendous
pain
while
young
resident
doctors
who
knew
less
about
medicine
than
I
came
in
and
tried
to
give
me
useless
information.
I
finally
insisted
on
a
certain
diagnostic
test
simply
as
proof
that
I
didn't
have
a
possible
severe
injury
since
they
couldn't
seem
to
think
of
it
on
their
own.
It
was
absolutely
unacceptable
and
ridiculous.
I
received
substandard
medical
care
and
spent
an
entire
night
in
an
ER
for
no
reason
at
all.
Other
than
the
incompetent
disorganized
entity
that
is
U
of
L
health.
It's
pathetic.
On
top
of
everything
else,
they've
made
their
buildings
for
anyone
with
mobility
issues
inaccessible
in
terms
of
the
distance
you
must
travel.
Accessibility
isn't
always
just
about
going
up
or
down
steps
etc.
People
struggling
with
injuries
or
illness
simply
cannot
walk
a
mile
to
make
it
to
an
office
because
some
architect
wanted
the
facility
to
look
pretty.
Sure,
they
have
ramps
and
handicap
doors.
You
can
roll
in
if
you
have
a
wheelchair
or
if
you
have
someone
to
push
you
which
I
do
not.
I
always
relied
on
being
able
to
park
close
to
the
door
and
even
then
had
a
hard
time
gaining
entry.
Now
that
all
those
handicap
accessible
parking
spaces
are
gone.
I
won't
be
returning
to
this
facility
mainly
because
I
can't.
U
of
L
health
has
the
most
inept
building
designers,
who
are
obviously
focused
solely
on
how
they
look
rather
than
on
the
care
that
they
give
or
with
any
thoughts
towards
how
a
patient
can
even
make
it
into
one
of
their
buildings.
It's
a
trend
in
healthcare
that
is
rampant
since
these
corporations
have
taken
over
our
healthcare
in
Louisville.
Obviously
the
people
who've
made
the
decisions
about
building
design
have
never
cared
for
the
sick
or
injured.
In
and
of
themselves,
the
facilities
are
a
blaring
indication
of
the
value
system
that
cares
more
about
aesthetics
than
function
/patient
care.
It
is
pathetic.
It's
another
crack
in
the
veneer
of
our
failing
healthcare
system
