The absolute worse place. wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Especially when it comes to Anita (the therapist I was given) she lacked empathy for her patients, and sighed on different occasions when people were sharing. her coping skills weren’t great and if that particular coping skill didn’t work for you then she would hound you and belittle you in front of group. Super unprofessional. She laughed at the most inappropriate of times. Had 2-3 people leave her group while I was present for 2 months because she did not make her group warm, inviting, or easy to share in whatsoever. When struggling to share she would just begin to repeat the phone number and address for 7 counties and tell us to call them. If she didn’t like what you were saying she would mute the microphone so she couldn’t hear you. I could go on and on. If your looking for help I highly suggest go somewhere else.

Very dirty facility. Rooms are not properly cleaned or sanitized. I wouldn't put an animal in this place. The children's units have plumbing issues to where none of the toilets properly flush. Instead of putting Out Of Order signs on the bathrooms in the children's rooms. They continue to let the children use those broken toilets. With the exception of 3-4 bathrooms. All the toilets were filled with feces up to the rim. Management doesn't care about cleaning and does not enforce proper cleaning procedures. They focus mainly on trash being taken out. Nothing gets wiped down or sanitized. It's disgusting.

They over medicate you. Psychiatrist only talks to you for 5 minutes. The only positivity there was from patients and nurses. Even staff members, would ignore you or were rude. The staff had short fuses so they would take it out on the patients. I was given 4-5 different medications, sent to another ward and am only on 2 medications now that actually help with my anxiety and depression. I know a few other patients had blood pressure problems while there. My inhaler was hard to get from nurses when I needed it. I had BP high every morning it was 180. I was hospitalized at an ER post leaving the Brook. I also developed bronchitis and asthma while in there.

The front desk s were very sweet. But I did have a few problems. I have parent issues and I was letting my feelings out on one of my parents. I got yelled at for defending myself, wow. Staff cussed and some staff were rude to this young boy for doing nothing. Staff cussed a lot and really didn’t care. They didn’t care with how you can cope. Very FEW staff were nice. I was so happy to leave because the staff treated lots of kids in my group terribly. Some were valid but we had a very underage kid. He was around 5-8. Staff yelled at him for being bubbly. He was bullied by a 12-14 year old boy. I was so happy to leave. The front office people were so sweet but the staff really weren’t.

I accompanied my boyfriend to complete the intake process at 1020 on 8/28. The receptionist took his bags and personal items and then took my car keys. We completed the paperwork and began to wait for the intake nurse. The receptionist allowed us out to smoke and in to the restroom while she was there. However, she left shortly before 11pm. After that, we were trapped in the lobby with no access to the restroom and no exit in case of emergency. There is no way to contact anyone if you need help or out. We were help prisoner for an hour. We tried knocking and no one came. The intake nurse came out to ask for another patient and when he did we asked him if we could go outside. He said no. I told him I'm not even a patient and it's wildly dangerous to hold people prisoner in a room without the ability to escape if there is an emergency. He said we couldn't leave and we had to wait a few hours before he would be able to get to us for the intake process because he was the only one there. I said that I was not going to be held in a room with no bathroom access and no escape for additional hours and demanded that he give us our keys and bags so we could leave. He gave us our bags, but couldn't find my car keys. I asked him to check the receptionists office, but he refused because, "no one puts things there.". He just kept checking the same lockers repeatedly. I asked him to call the receptionist and ask her where she put them. He told us the check the bags. I explained several times that the keys were taken separately from the bags. Finally he went to call the receptionist. When he came back he went in to her office and got my keys from her desk. It is unacceptable that we were held prisoner in a room with no restroom, no escape, and no way to contact employees. It is unacceptable that the day shift leaves without communicating where they leave people's personal affects or how long people have been sitting alone in a room with no toilet access.

I'm writing this during my Evaluation of my 3rd visit here in 6 months. From personal experience, I don't understand where a lot of these people are claiming mistreatment, because systematically, you're with the techs 24/7, and they aren't the ones that treat you, they're the ones that help you with anything you need. Your physician is the one that makes the call there. I absolutely adore this place and I've genuinely considered working here if I had the social aspect it takes, because coming from someone the techs have to deal with, they put up with a lot. I've felt cared about by everyone I've interacted with, and those I didn't feel cared about by, it wasn't negative either. In the inpatient visits that I've had, Ive made wonderful friends and took valuable knowledge with me back to the outside. The atmosphere feels like people who genuinely want to help, not people who only show up for a paycheck. It hurts me to see that some people leave hurtful reviews about some of the sweetest staff that work here, let alone some people who haven't even started treatment here (why are you leaving reviews if you haven't walked in the building). I don't see how a bad experience could come from here, but I definitely have seen people make it a bad experience on their own volition. The secret is to allow yourself to get better. These people are miracle workers but they can't do everything for you. At the end of the day, it's our struggles that WE have to get past, I'm still learning to do that myself, I just need a hand. In closing I desperately wish that everyone that works here knows how much of a difference they make on us patients for the better. Also tell Ms Dion I love her to death oh my Lord I want to give that sweet woman the biggest hug.

The place has potential with the right management. Unfortunately they do not have that. I worked there as a contract nurse for almost 3 months. I’m opinionated and stand up for myself so that was frowned upon. The processes they have in place are unorganized and stressful. 3 nights before my 2 week notice was up I was working as a MHT bc they are so short of staff. Someone I did not recognize walked on the unit so I asked who they were. The response I hit was the most unprofessional one I’ve ever gotten from a manager. She replied, “you don’t need to know who I am. I am the manger of these units.” It just went downhill from there. We had words and she ended up threatening me. I made a police report and contacted corporate. Nothing has been done so far. I’m sure she still has her job which in unfortunate. (Carmel) I’m not sure how to spell her name but I was asked for my keys and badge and escorted out while she was not. I contacted the DON Kimberly Mitchell and she informed me that I would not be paid for the 3 nights I missed due to this incident. I also cc all my emails to the ceo Mr. Shane Koch but no one has even tried to reach out. I do not know why they would want to keep such an unprofessional and abrasive manager there. The turnover there speaks volumes. You’d think they would see that.

Absolutely do not go here to be assessed for anything unless you actually want to go inpatient. It doesn't matter what else you say, if they can at all justify keeping you, they will manipulate and coerce you into saying it. I was on a healing path with my therapist and just wanted to get into an intensive outpatient program. But I apparently said the wrong things and took a 24-hour detour inpatient. The whole experience was very traumatizing. And I didn't even end up inpatient at their facility because as soon as they realized that they were out of network for my insurance, they pawned me off on another facility. They didn't even bother to send over all of my medical records, just the bare minimum that was needed to admit me to the other place. I was shipped an hour and a half outside of my hometown in a car with bars on the windows, even as a "voluntary" admittance (I was told that if I didn't volunteer, they would just keep me anyway and keep me longer). I'm honestly really grateful that I ended up at the facility where I did because the staff at Sun Behavioral in Erlanger, KY actually listened to me and recognized that I didn't need to be there. Thanks for the unnecessary trauma and hospital bills, The Brook.

This is a sorry excuse for a mental hospital. Nearly all of the techs GENUINELY care, and my heart goes out to them. Techs Terrell, Meredith, Chrissy, and Katie especially, along with Lil Thunder, Thurman, Richie, and all of the other custodians and cafeteria staff. I’m sure I’m forgetting others. Nurse Taylor is awesome too. But, I must say, I have no idea how this place is still in business. I saw a man talking about his constitutional rights one moment, and after his pile of pills (including Thorazine) were administered, he was drooling on himself. He then passed out a few hours later! I watched another patient pass out during my stay there as well. One woman was discharged a day after she was found self-harming in her bedroom. Rampant over-prescription of drugs (not by Dr. Siddiqui, although he did say things to me like “we would rather you take your medication than hit anyone” when I have never assaulted anybody a day in my life). Patients only see their “social worker/therapist” for a FEW MINUTES A DAY. We have groups where they ask us what type of potato we would be, but NO long-term therapy sessions with a qualified mental health practitioner??? And 15 minutes tops spent with the doctor. What is this place?? Abhorrent. That’s what it is. If I could give -10,000 stars, I would. Extortion at its finest.

SHAME ON YOU!! Sending a client home because he caught covid in YOUR facility then refusing to take him back in as an inpatient despite his desperate attempts to stay clean is reprehensible. If not criminal. Despite his plea to return to impatient for his own well-being you're cutting him loose on IOP. Hardly "healthcare". Is your model based on "help goes to the best insurance holder"? I have the names of his treatment team and so help me if something happens because of your negligence I hope you have good attorneys. FOLLOW UP: the response from their "care team" was essentially 'good luck somewhere else'. DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT HERE.... Unless their insurance is willing to pay top dollar.

I have visited here on two occasions-once for outpatient and once for in patient. It was not a good experience for me. I literally felt like I was in prison. I did not get a lot out of the group therapy sessions. They were very short and geared toward people dealing with substance and domestic abuse. All of the activities were built around smoke breaks, and I am not a smoker. Nothing was private. Our meds and and appointments were displayed in front of everyone. It was so cold that I was miserable. The bed felt like I was sleeping on concrete. The doctors met with me for ten seconds and immediately prescribed meds. Honestly, the best thin was the food. I did not gain anything from my visit other than more added steess-multiole bills. They never enrolled me in after care and there was no follow-ups. I have received so many bills from various doctors, in addition to the hospital. It is hard to keep up. Several went to collections and I never even received a bill. I have made several calls to the business office without any return calls. The only people I would advise to possibly go here are people who are dealing with mania because they let you sleep. In fact, there was not much else to do. The therapy is very low standard, and it is All group focused-no individual care. It's like we are sheep being needed. I hate the way mental health is treated in our country. I am a very educated wiman-a Masters degree and a professional. My complaints are valid, even if someone tries to invalidate them. Do not come here unless you want to pay thousands of dollars. Go to your doctor. Find a psychiatrist. Get a therapist. And find your own circle of support to heal without this added stress. If there are typos, please forgive me as I am using a mobile device.

HORRIBLE. If you are a Christian watch out! This place will coin you as delusional, schizophrenia, loose associations ect..they will misdiagnose you for your faith. The Doctor Will manipulate you into signing yourself in voluntarily and then threaten to keep you longer if you decide to go before the judge for your rightful hearing on the matter. The doctors also falsified information and documentation - straight FRAUD. I have been calling non stop to get answers and my calls have not been returned. If you are a victim of this Please contact the ORC for a discrimination complaint or file a physiatrist malpractice complaint through the medical board of licensure. This place is traumatic and should be SHUT down like yesterday..

Receptionist was very rude. Took phones away. Had to wait in waiting room over 2 hrs, with no two others using their phones the whole time. Place is a joke. They care more about eating their Patient. We ask several time how much longer and got a I don't know from receptionist.

DO NOT GO HERE. My 12 year old son was admitted here. I had high hopes for this place, but I was so wrong. One of the conditions was that he would get to log in and do his online schooling, but they straight lied to me and never let him do that. He was there for 6 days. They stated to me my insurance would cover all of his stay otherwise someone there would have called me and told me in advance. I got a letter from my insurance today that they will only cover 4 days and The Brook knew this. My son threw up all but the first 2 days he was there. His body ached and he was shaking uncontrollably. The staff acted like it was no big deal. He spoke of a little girl during one of our phone calls who couldn't walk but had gone in just fine. They tried to tell me that she was just being dramatic. I told them that I wanted to get my son and they said wait until tomorrow and we'll discharge him, but if you take him home today, we'll call CPS on you. Like I care about that. They did have CPS show up and talk to my son. Ok. They followed me home too. My son told me about how the staff had punched him 2 times while he was there. They threatened to kill him if he told me. They forced him to take a medication they told me that he wasn't going to take an more. Forced by pinching his lips together until he swallowed it. Also, they let children pass out prescription meds to other children. Highly illegal. Do not let your family go here.

Under no circumstances would I bring a family member to this hospital again. I have never encountered such rudeness and incompetence in a facility in my life, and I'm 74 years old. I've had a lot of experience. This was the worst.

2023 HONEST REVEW READ ALL Oh my lord was this place amazing to be in. So many people to meet. They will lock the doors on you so get ready to chat ! But they grant smoke breaks and community if someone donates :). I got your all's back. The doctor diagnosed me Schizophrenia, Dr Siddiqui and his assistant at the time. THEY WERE UBER WRONG! Contractors what can I say? But the nurses and techs are hands down the most knowledgeable and caring. Shout out to Maya for handling unit 100 to her roots. I learned to inspire others, and many tactics on dealing with my anxiety to so much. Their art program is amazing, and get to go to a cafeteria for food and mingle with others. The cook staff is nice but man they cook a lot and many mouths at a time so always thank them. Your front entrance is safe and calm, and Savannah will get you the most help you can. So be very knowledgeable on your diagnosis , but the help is amazing And the Nami Support group leader that comes in you need to listen it's free help and it's laid back. They don't believe in medicine for healing only talking. The Brook Loves Positive Vibes! We love you , I LOVE THEM! GO BROOK. I went to central days later after the diagnosis to Central State. Read My review there. I'm bipolar 1 with lithium now. And Abillify but not for Schizophrenia. YOU KNOW YOU EVERYONE. Your parents don't know you. YOU KNOW YOU. It's not jail, it's help and even homeless people tell me that's heaven so stop being spoiled Americans like I was and appreciate the help the give.

I was on the Psych side, and this facility was great. Doctors, Social Workers, MHAs, Nurses, Cooks, Janitorial Staff. All of them. GREAT. I was there fourteen days and I feel a bit better from meds, but mostly I was helped by the people. Staff and patients. It's a true healing environment. Even the food was great! Smoke breaks were spaced well, snacks were good, if not very healthy. You can't have drinks on the floor except water, so that sucked, but you manage. When I need meds adjusted I'll go back here.

1st 2 days of Ramadan I spent at the mental hospital. I have to eat suhoor by 6:28a and they wouldn't feed us till 8:30a so I forfeited suhoor for 2 days and only ate for iftar 1× day at 7:59p.. due to my strick diet and medical condition proper nutrition is very vital to me and they kept giving me chips, rice, corn, bread items which I had to give away to other patients and they neglected feeding me properly.. all I ate for 3 days was. A small piece of fish, 1 scoop of greens, a cold beef patty, 1 scoop of beans, 1 scoop of cooked carrots, 1 scoop of mash potatoes, 1 bowl of cereal and 1 banana alamduliah.. but not enough food 😭 so I lost 11bs FAST and I fell very ill after being discharged..although I reminded everyone of my religious obligations & medical conditions (gastric bypass patient with CHF) which restricts food intake to only 2-4oz they turned a blind 👁️ at me because I was just a patient in the mental hospital...only 1 staff member whom was a Muslim revert himself noticed & he helped me and provided me with comfortable prayer mat, he wrote down my prayer times and made sure I had plenty of water and I had my suhoor on time the very last day before I was I got discharged alhamduliah. May Allah reward this brother ameen Also I wrote 5 complaints and put them in the grievance box in the unit and no one ever came to talk to me. Place isn't clean, and the MHA people can be bully's when the nurses aren't around

I am giving this 5 star review for one reason only...Dr. F! 8 hospitalizations in one year for my 9 year old grandson. Severe behavioral issues from age 3...abused and neglected until age 9 when we got custody. Violent/aggressive/homicidal The solution seemed to be ...enough meds to knock a grown man on his a......(which had no effect, just made him sleepy, behaviors were the same) and "ok, he's been good for 48 hrs, come get him" or "we aren't equipped to handle this, come get him"...The Brook included. Thru all of this, Dr. F has been the only person to be straight up, and brutally honest with us. None of the "lets just not use the word 'no' with him", " you can't call him on behaviors because it upsets him", etc. I want to thank you, Dr. F!! For having the courage and forthrightness to tell us the truth, and send us to the right path. Hopefully

I was a PHP patient, for your reference. My reason for leaving was that they where completely un-understanding. They care more about their “rules” than the well-being of their patients. My reason for coming to the Brook was “learning how to cope”. I was completely honest from the first day of my own issues, yet they used them against me. I am NOW coping from the time I spent THERE, no other knowledge of coping lol. Group therapy was of no help (Besides the wonderful other patients that I love so much, even now). All I learned in 3ish weeks was how to address codependency (couldn’t tell you) and boundaries. PHP/outpatient/tai chi on zoom here was a JOKE. The therapists only care about a paycheck. I encourage you to find help, you won’t find it here. I’ll list the Brook in my note.

Walked in there with my mom to get her seen as she has trouble with brain fog. Was told we couldn't have our keys phone or anything even in the waiting room. Front desk lady was extremely rude and even told me I couldn't sit while mom was at the counter getting signed in. We decided not to go in. I'm not giving my phone keys and everything into your hands. If they treat you like that at the door, how do they treat the patients? I'm a minister and college grad and they acted like I was a hood rat from the street. And trust me I certainly dress very well. Lady at desk seemed to go on a power trip about the lobby. Needs salvation looks like. Some JESUS in her spirit.

i was in the inpatient program in this facility in september when i was still 12, some of the worst times of my life when i was there. the nurses don't truly care about your feelings and they dont let you eat anything else if you cant eat it. they always rushed my phone calls to my parents and kept me way longer than normal for no reason (i was there for 8 days, supposed to be 3) and they never let me see my doctor or therapist. they yell at you for the smallest things and they dont care about your triggers whatsoever. please find a place that your child will thrive and actually get better, i gained more trauma from this place rather than learning to cope with it (they never teach coping skills btw) stay safe out there 🫶🏼

It had started out as a very hard year - 2023. I found myself getting inpatient and outpatient treatment at the Brook Dupont. It was a great experience and I am thankful to GOD for the Brook and all the good people that helped me. I love Dr. Spears!! You have to work the program and be present and willing. It is not easy to face your demons, but it was so nice to know that we are not alone. The Brook was a place of safety for me. It is not perfect but what is in this world? Thanks to all the workers at the Brook and know that you are a life saving blessing to many!

I cannot say enough good things about The Brook Dupont location! When I needed recovery treatment I got the best place in the entire world for me. They know the good balance that a patient needs. They give support, loving care, and are very consistent. I actually cannot imagine anyone giving an honest opinion and rating them, under five stars, but "to each his own." Not only did they care for me once, but I had to have brain surgeries and came back after each brain surgery to detox medically, in order to stay sober. Both inpatient and outpatient services were fantastic. The rules they have are so very fair and just common sense. It's a great balance between being comfortable understanding about families, visitation, and bringing in support from the outside, such as AA, and letting those people we will mingle with after we graduate. AA members bring meetings to The Brook, so that we become acclimated with them before we leave. The outpatient program was a godsend. Christopher was a CRUCIAL part of my continued sobriety. I was able to continue groups for another month after I what's discharge from inpatient treatment. And that was SO IMPORTANT. I was able to address those everyday problems that every newly sober person would have. Problems with old people places and things, I was able was able to address them DAILY with Chris' Group. They even provided transportation to and from my house which was wonderful! I did not have to worry about gas money and could just strictly focus on THAT DAY'S sobriety. There is even a family group on Saturdays, (I believe that is still the case?) The family can come in and ask questions with other families there -- questions that a family member would have. WE HAVE A FAMILY DISEASE and we make everyone around us sick because they're having to deal with us. They may not realize it but they can also get help to Al-Anon and the people that do that get very strong so they can stand up and live their life apart from ours. And they can also listen to other patients as they share their issues. I've also been to other treatment facilities in Lewisville and the brook is the Taj Mahal as far as I'm concerned! The food is fantastic I think everyone agrees upon that and their lot of little extra things that you wouldn't expect like going to gym and being able to start moving your muscles and get some daily physical activity going, that we have not been utilizing. If you're contemplating where to go or where to send your loved one please consider the brook. Don't rely on a few reviews because people are QUICK to criticize. Sometimes they get better and forget to COMPLIMENT, after we get home. I think it's true for any review system people want to complain but are slow to praise. I inadvertently did that and I am making this review years after I left. I have referred and driven several friends to your facility and for good reason! 12-15 people since I left. So sorry, The Brook! I brought someone to you YESTERDAY -- Feb 20th 2022 -- his sobriety date! someone who will receive a gift from God like I did! He is still there and let's pray that he gets everything he needs! I wrote a novel but you deserve every word! Keep doing what you're doing!

The Brook has always been amazingly helpful to me. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that everyone was locked out of their rooms from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and that caused anxiety to a lot of patients, but I see why it's necessary. Staff are wonderful and Donna the NP truly cares for her patients. Thank you!!

I went in for an IOP this morning. I waited 4 hours to tell them I would have to be admitted inpatient. When I refused I was told that I could not enter the IOP. I then walked out the door seemingly if they cared about people's mental health. They would adopt the mentality out patient treatment and a willingness to try is better than no effort at all

This is a top notch facility with professionals who are in the field with the best of intentions. I was in the intensive outpatient program. During my time at the Brooks, I learned a lot about myself; how to regulate my emotions, trauma, ptsd, coping strategies, family dynamics. Ralph was an excellent therapist!! The information was tailored daily around what may be needed most in the support group that day. You had all walks of life in there, young adults to senior citizens. All with different issues, but coming together in a space to be heard and expressed.

A family member got referred here from Norton's behavioral health unit for their IOP program FOR DEPRESSION and The Brook is refusing to see this family member on the basis of the family member having an autism diagnosis. I called and told them they have no reason to refuse this family member as they don't want or need an accomodation (the family member told them this too), the family member want to work on their depression. The intake department said it's their POLICY they don't see people with an autism diagnosis. That's blatant discrimination on the basis of disability. They also broke HIPAA by telling me they assessed him and gave him a referral to Peace Hospital and seven counties. He didn't sign a release to me. All around unethical place. Someone is coming for depression help and you stomped on them when they're down.

This place was like Alcatraz to me. I almosted checked myself out. Needless to say Brook has had me sober for 2 years now. The method is fear based, but Hey It's work. 4out5 for me. It would have been perfect by keeping me sober but its out of fear of going to this place again.
