I
recently
had
a
baby
at
Baptist
Health
and
requested
an
epidural.
Dr
.
Christopher
Payton
came
into
the
room
to
provide
the
service,
upon
his
arrival
he
did
not
introduce
himself,
make
eye
contact
with
myself
or
my
husband
or
speak
to
me
directly.
He
came
in
and
started
yelling
off
possible
side
effects
of
the
epidural
and
started
the
procedure.
He
did
not
warn
me
he
was
about
to
stick
me
with
lidocaine
to
numb
me,
the
only
reason
I
was
prepare
was
because
the
nurse
informed
me.
He
attempted
the
epidural
a
total
of
three
times,
this
is
my
third
child
and
third
epidural
so
I
understand
the
first
time
may
not
be
successful,
however,
I
began
to
have
excruciating
pain
down
the
left
side
of
my
body/leg,
he
asked
where
the
pain
was
and
I
informed
him
twice
the
left
side,
he
then
smacked
my
shoulder
and
began
to
explain
my
left
from
right
as
if
I
was
confusing
them.
After
the
third
attempt
he
left
and
an
ample
amount
of
time
passed
and
I
was
not
getting
any
relief
of
contractions
and
still
had
full
range
of
movement
and
feeling.
At
this
point,
things
got
a
little
crazy
with
the
baby
and
multiple
nurses
came
in
as
well
as
my
doctor
and
they
quickly
decided
to
have
a
c
section
(this
was
approximately
45
mins
after
the
initial
epidural)
and
I
was
still
feeling
everything.
This
process
was
extremely
painful
and
uncomfortable.
Dr
Payton
came
back
into
the
room
and
yelled
at
me
“what
are
you
feeling?”,
I
tried
to
explain
I
was
feeling
everything
and
he
was
rude
and
dismissive.
He
gave
me
another
bolus
and
still,
nothing.
Resulting
in
me
having
to
be
completely
put
under
during
my
c
section
and
I
did
not
get
to
be
present
or
my
husband
for
the
birth
of
our
son.
This
was
a
very
traumatic
experience
and
I
was
extremely
unhappy
with
my
experience
of
Dr.
Payton.
