Fraudulence. Billing Fraudulence specifically. Was told an initial appointment was going to be approx. $120 and paid said amount and even have a receipt on day of appointment. Two days later I receive a statement that I owe an extra 113, upon further information provided this was due to my appt. lasting more than 43 minutes and being referred to as a level 4. Never once was I informed of the potential for an increase in the amount of almost double the original price. Surprise Medical bill and after having been told "MJ and her team will contact you" 3 weeks ago regarding my complaint I'm still waiting. I was told "this is an opportunity for training" and I believe it is unfair that I have to financially pay the toll due to lack of HONEST information. On top of everything there was ZERO paperwork that I filled out regarding my reason(s) for the appointment. With that said, no wonder my appointment was 45 instead of 43 minutes long I had to repeat my story to multiple folks (physicians asst. and nurse). Seriously, staying an extra 2-3 minutes is suppose to cost me an extra $113... This was not even a specialist i saw a nurse practitioner. These folks are frauds even if the providers are good.

My Grandmother is currently being held captive at Jewish hospital. We are understanding of restricted visitor policies due to Covid19 but the hospital is making NO effort to help patients and families through these difficult times. We have gone nearly 24 hours at a time without being able to reach anyone at the nurses station or in my Grandmothers room for updates. The hospital has failed to keep her caregivers informed yet they will help her call to scream and beg for us to come see her and for help. So they know how to pick up a phone and reach us- but only choose to do it when she is confused and asking why we have forgotten her ( She is almost 90.) She is allowed to have one visitor so my Grandfather, again- almost 90, has that spot because he deserves to see his spouse of 75 years. However, he does not retain information well enough to communicate with doctors and they’ve made no effort to make sure a secondary care giver is up to speed on a care plan. With how rude they are on the phone ( IF you can get a hold of them) I can not imagine how awful they are to patients behind lock doors with no families in there for them to behave in front of. One nurse helped my Grandmother call out one day to tell each of her children she loved them and we can’t thank that single person enough- but unfortunately she must be the rose among the thorns. Mental and emotional health is a major part of healing but there is no money in that for UofL so they’ve dropped the ball immensely. I’ve had animals be treated better at a veterinarian clinic than the situation we are currently in with my Grandmother.

I have mixed feelings about them. The physicians we have seen have all been related to emergency room visits for our 4 year old and they have all had excellent bedside manner and have always treated him with respect and dignity. The billing process is horrible. We have never received a detailed bill from them. It always just says patient name and an amount with no evidence of how they came to that number. We just found out that they never billed our insurance and that we have been overpaying them for years! Pay close attention to your bills, request itemized invoices and make sure they have your insurance info on file.

The doctors and medical care I've received here are fine, but the billing department is horrible. They almost always file my insurance claims incorrectly so the claim is denied, and then it takes months of repeated calls to get it straightened out. Some claims have taken almost two years to get fixed. Several have been sent to collections despite assurances that the account was on hold. When this first started customer service was usually able to fix things pretty well. Now customer support has been outsourced to a foreign call center and the agents now say that they can't recall a bill that's been turned over to collections (for their mistake) and they are not knowledgeable about the claims process or willing to try and help solve the problem. Please fix the billing issues! I'd love to keep using UofL Physicians, but I may have to switch if the billing issues aren't fixed. I'm double insured, but I'm afraid I'll end up with a surprise bill for thousands of dollars at some point!

I was seen by at least 4 doctors at UofL health over the course of three years, having undergone MANY tests and treatments, yet they were unable to successfully diagnose an ongoing severe respiratory illness that I was experiencing. Finally I was pulled to the side by a UofL physician who quietly suggested that I see a different doctor outside the UofL practice. The non-UofL doctor was able to make an accurate diagnosis in under 30 minutes. It was a mold allergy. I am exasperated when I consider the abject suffering, needless medications and steroids that I was subjected to for three years, for something so easily diagnosed and treated...(we identified the source of the mold which was my office at work...also UofL). I was well in under 5 days. THAT should have been my sign to change doctors. However I did not. I had been gaining weight ( thought it might have something to do with the 3 years of steroids I was prescribed for the mold allergy. I had my annual exam and I explained that I was just not "feeling well". The UofL physician I saw offered to write me a prescription for depression. I told him I wasn't depressed I just did not feel physically well and that my abdomen was just getting bigger and bigger. Again the attempt was to write me a prescription for depression but I knew this was physical and NOT mental. In the end I ended up in the ER with an 8 pound abdominal tumor that was missed after several visits to ULP, including a physical exam. An 8 pound tumor is the size of a gallon of milk. I broke an ankle. Went to UofL hospital was told it was a fracture and to just keep weight off of it. Turns out it was a spiral fracture and required surgery. I saw a UofL orthopedic surgeon. Told him I was highly allergic to nickel and needed to be careful about the metal content of the plate and screws used. Long story short is my foot turned black. I ended up with a wound that opened over the plate that would not heal over the course of 6 months. The plate and screws had to be removed. (an unnecessary surgery). I still have a horrible dark patch of skin 4 years later where the open wound used to be, and I also have a really nasty scar. Turns out the physician who did my ankle surgery was later arrested due to drug related charges. Lastly, it was recommended by my Primary Care doc (PC) that I do COLOguard OR a Colonoscopy.I elected COLOguard since we have no family history. I did the test and did not hear anything so I figured all was well. Months later I was contacted by the ULP endoscopy unit to schedule a colonoscopy.I asked whether something in my COLOguard test was problematic? I was told to call my PC office, which I did.The woman who looked at my file said that “a saliva test indicated that I needed to have a colonoscopy”.I have a family member who works in an endoscopy unit at a major hospital in another state so I called her and asked about this saliva test, that I had no recollection of taking. She said,“NO SUCH THING”. I called my PC again and told them I was receiving calls from Endoscopy trying to schedule a colonoscopy. The person with whom I spoke assured me that I did not need a colonoscopy, she said, my “doctor had not yet read my results” so he would not have ordered one.(doc who missed the tumor had not, in months, read my test results?) I ask - if my results had not been read how did we know that I didn’t need a colonoscopy. She said I could read the results in my online patient portal, which I did - there was nothing irregular.A few weeks later I received ANOTHER call from endoscopy trying to schedule me for a Colonoscopy. I said I thought there was some sort of mix-up.That ended the discussion...or so I thought. Some time later I received another call from endoscopy. This time I used the 3-way call feature on my phone and called the office of my PC. In the end the discovery was that the Endoscopy unit had me “mixed up” with another patient! SO if I HADN’T asked I’d have gotten an unneeded Colonoscopy but more concerning to me was the wellbeing of the patient with whom I was mixed up.

This goes for all the UofL dr community. You all are the least bit helpful “doctors” I’ve ever met. Every time I’ve visited you I’ve been rushed, shamed and insulted. You take no mind to how we as patients feel and your services are down right lazy. I’d rather die then receive care from any dr having to do with your business. Kentucky healthcare is Garbo.

Billing department is very difficult to work with. Long wait times only to be connected to an unhelpful representative or sent to voicemail.

Office won’t return my calls for an appointment. The one time they did call they hung up when I answered. Their patience experience people made them call me today but they still refused to make an appointment. The person who schedules referrals is the nastiest person I’ve ever dealt with.

Have attempted to contact neurology dept multiple times for weeks. Always prompted to leave a message but no one has yet to return the call. SO SAD THAT PATIENTS ARE NOT RECIEVING THE CARE THE DESERVE!

Thanks to visits at sw and Jewish I will be going strictly Norton’s Hospital and Doctors I sent dawn gee a message and when I get out I will send the editorial about my experiences. I called Morgan and Morgan they don’t want little malpractice cases or negligent so they were suppose to send me names. There are a few nice people but 40%verses 90% that needs a little more compassion

I called the number provided to hopefully set up an ultrasound appointment and the customer service lady was nothing but rude over the phone, did not help me at all and then proceeded to hang up on me!!! This is unacceptable. I am now rethinking getting my ultrasound here or setting up any further appointments.

There are too many patients for the hospital to run. You speak up for youself and the doctors put you On a on a 72 hr hold for sticking up for yourself.

I wish I read these reviews before seeing any APRN or doctor at UofL; it would have saved me a lot of time and money.

The ability to message your provider through the app, mychart, is flawed. I have tried to contact my doctor, Dr. Mohanty, on several occasions and the nurse practitioner, Shannon, keeps responding. With all due respect, you are not my doctor, Nurse Shannon. If you call to talk to your doctor, they say message through the app. Why can't I talk to my doctor or have my doctor responds to my messages? I have been waiting for an appointment for two weeks now with a specialty clinic. The response I keep getting from Shannon is, the scheduling team will get to it as soon as they can. It was listed as routine, which is an error inputted by Dr. Pham. (Whoever that is) Really? It takes longer than two weeks to get an appointment scheduled? I regret going here. Dr. Mohanty treated my with the uptmost respect and care during my initial visit with her. That's the only good thing i can say about this place.

Drove from Oldham County to see a Urology doctor. I was billed for “specialist“ fees. I waited 30 minutes, and finally a nurse practitioner showed up, and told me that the doctor was too busy. I asked for reimbursement, and was told that the money will go back on my card. So far, that’s not the case. Out $80, and still didn’t see a doctor.

I am very pleased with the care I revive here. I've seen a number of doctors here, & each office has been very good. There is some delay at requests at the office, especially when it comes to prescriptions. Compared to other clinics that is isn't to bad.

COVID TESTING IS NOT FREE! They won’t tell you that you’re being charged for the visit, but they’ll send you a $20 “Covid Administration” fee after you test. There is NO MENTION of the fee during testing, you will be surprise billed. Be aware if you’re testing for COVID! Also visited the family health physicians office and the doctor left the room during my visit to attend to another patient — scheduled me for blood work that I ended up not having, but billed me for the entire visit (including the blood work that never occurred). I tried to dispute the charges, U of L Health claimed to put in a review ticket but I never heard back. Ended up paying the bills to save my credit but WILL NEVER GO BACK TO U OF L HEATH FOR ANY MEDICAL SERVICES. AVOID THIS OFFICE IF YOU DONT WANT SURPRISE FEES OR BILLS FOR SERVICES YOU DIDNT RECEIVE.
