Honestly, downtown isn't what it used to be. HOWEVER, Melba's is an incredibly good reason to go back. True to its name, it is a culinary oasis for DTLou. The menu covers burgers to ramen, salads to skirt steak. And macarons, as well as other baked goods, to top it all off. Fantastic.

Delightful experience! We were walking through downtown Louisville in search of a great cup of coffee and came across Melbas. Not only did we enjoy multiple cups of coffee, we also imbibed in a delicious meal!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Not only for the food and beverages, but the superior customer service. We took great pleasure in chatting with the friendly, knowledgeable owner and his awesome staff. Thank you for making us feel at home!!

Food was amazing! We ate here for breakfast and lunch while in town for a convention. Chef/owner even came out to deliver food to tables and check on things. Iane is an amazing waitress/hostess! Wonderful place to eat delicious food! Must go to when you are here in town! Oh and biscuits and gravy! Soooo good!!

AMAZING breakfast? Need a quick coffee? Check. Need a pastry? Check. Want to sit down to an amazing plated breakfast (healthy or not)? Check. Need a quick, cheap breakfast sandwich? Check. Can’t say enough good things about the food, ambiance, service, you name it.

This place was the bomb for lunch. My entree was spot-on but I also ordered a cup of the Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo. Wow. It was the best item that I ordered and it was gone all too soon. The bread that my waiter gave my party and I was so good as well. The service was nice and the establishment seemed clean.

Lunch two days in a row was excellent. I also ordered breakfast sandwiches online for pickup first thing after they opened and they were delicious. Very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to Iane!

My fiancΓ© and I were just in town for the night and happened upon this place when we were looking for some good breakfast. Not only is the food absolutely amazing and fresh, but the service was impeccable. It was just an added bonus that the prices were great as well. We also took some extra pastries home with us. Thanks for the great meal, and conversation. We 100% recommend coming here whether your from out of town or local.

I tried Melba’s for lunch. I had pacific cod tacos. The fish was well grilled and the salsa was great. I think the best was the complimentary bread and the hot cheese. The service is pretty fast and good. The place is like a high end restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised with the very reasonable prices. Finally, the bakery items steals the show and are a must try.

An absolute amazing experience. The chef, Charles Reed came out and greeted our party of six and even made special accomodations for seating. All the staff were incredible, very polite and good sense of humor. The food was just......wow. We all travel alot and know great food. You will not be disappointed here. Doc is a legitimate chef, not a line cook. All six of us were thoroughly impressed. Even the coffee was incredible. I can't say enough good things about this place. Please go visit them, don't let this lull business close this place down. It is an absolute gem.

Fabulous breakfast choices in a lovely atmosphere. Love the artistic presentation of the delicious dishes. The staff is so friendly and attentive. This is one of the best restaurants we found in Louisville. We will be back to try the dinner menu very soon!

This place was the best. I went here frequently for lunch. All of the food was interesting and well prepared. The cake was amazing. We got one for a friends birthday one time. Looking forward to the new location opening up.
