This small park in St. Matthews, Kentucky is amazing in its beauty and diversity. Lots of variety of trees and wildlife exist in this park where a figure-eight path with bridges cross over running creeks filled with fish and waterfowl. Birds and bees fly among the flowering plants while squirrels and rabbits traipse and play through the lush green flora. This park is a gem and St. Matthews leadership has been a wonderful municipality to have created it and preserved it for the public. Additionally, the park's namesake, Arthur Draut, was an educator and principal at Waggener High School and after retirement from public education entered politics and served as distinguished mayor of St. Matthews, Kentucky. There are no playgrounds or restrooms but wonderful for walking and observing nature. When you look closely along the creek you can see where beaver chew down small trees and brush in their attempts to dam the creek for their lodges.

Nice, clean, beautiful, and serene park to walk. The beavers are very busy here, chewing on trees and building dams in Beargrass Creek. I'm glad I didn't see one! Be sure to use mosquito repellent! 😊

Small beautiful escape from the hectic city streets in the middle of the city.

It's a nice little park with a walking loop. Quite a nice assortment of birds! It was unfortunately full of litter but there was a kind gentleman picking up trash. I think the park needs more trash cans, and people seriously need to stop littering.

Beautiful! But there are no trash and inside the park, so it is TRASHY. The trashcan they do have are all at the entrance. Not logical. I picked up a huge bag of trash in less than an hour. It is very easily found EVERYWHERE.

A very well kept park with some beautiful scenery. All the paths are paved, so it's very accessible. I would recommend it for families with young kids.

Nice park. Been there a couple of times. Only thing is it's on the "tiny" side.

Nice nature spot in the middle of the suburbs. My dog loves to take walks here. Only downside is it can be buggy when the weather is warm.

I come here first thing in the morning before the heat of the day. It's a quick little trail with pretty streams and a lot beautiful trees and animals to see.
