Hibachi was amazing and entertaining! Great food and delicious sushi! Definitely will be back. We arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday and no wait for the Hibachi.

Absolutely the best sushi bar yet! Very good! Comfortable environment with great food! Definitely enjoyed ourselves! This was a very well put together restaurant! Almost as well put together as their delicate sushi plates!

FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED, THE SMILE AND ATTENTION OF THE HOST/ SERVER WAS AMAZING. LUCIA WAS ATTENTIVE AND MADE SURE WE WERE SITTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. CONSIDERING WE ARRIVED AFTER GRADUATION SO THIS PLACE WAS PACKED. WHILE WAITING SHE MADE SURE WE FELT WELCOMED AND COMFORTABLE AND OFFER WATER WHILE WE WAITTED, SEE THIS IS WHAT I EXPECT WHEN I VISIT A RESTAURANT ( GREAT SERVICE) AND AT SAKE BLUE WE SURELY RECEIVE IT!! THANK YOU, LUCIA!!! HIBACHI WAS PACKED CONSIDERING IT WAS GRADUATION DAY. FOOD WAS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, YUMMY, FRESH, AND HOT AS I LOVE IT!! AM NOT A FAN OF SUSHI BUT I TRY A FEW AND LET ME TELL YOU. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THE BIG MOUTH, IT'S VERY FLAVORABLE !! I CAN'T WRITE A REVIEW WITHOUT RATING THE RESTROOMS. BECAUSE AS I SAY "IF A RESTAURANT WORRIES ABOUT THE RESTROOMS BEING CLEAN, THEN THE KITCHEN IS CLEAN" AND TO MY SURPRISE THE RESTROOMS AT SAKE BLUE WERE SPOTLESS CLEAN, WITH A MODERN TOUCH OF DESIGN. THAT MADE ME VERY COMFORTABLE. I KNOW FOR A FACT WE WILL BE BACK. !! FOR BEING MY FIST TIME HERE, AND HAVING SUCH A GOOD IMPRESSION I'LL GIVE SAKE BLUE A 5 STAR THE CHEF WAS GREAT, HE MADE SURE WE WERE ALL SERVE IN A TIMELY MANNER. HE HAD SMILE AT ALL TIMES AND SEEM TO LOVE HIS JOB. THE FLAVOR WAS EXTRAORDINARY. HE WAS VERY FUNNY AND MADE MY KIDS LAUGH WITH EVERYTHING HE DID WHILE COOKING. WE LOVED THIS EXPERIENCE. TOTALLY RECOMMEND. YOU PAY FOR QUALITY FOOD HERE!!

I was here for a friend’s birthday - we wondered where to go and this place was decided. I’ve had a lot of memory here… former significant others, my friend’s brother was the sushi was the sushi chef here for some time. Anyways, we did an omakase amid other dishes and they were overall all solid. The omakase exceed both our expectation as the cuts for sashimi was great quality. The steak tatake was decent, not exceptional. The udon was solid as was the fried rice. We felt full leaving and exceeded our expectations for the day.

This is hands down my favorite sushi place in Louisville. The food is always spot on and the service is pretty fast even when they're super busy.

Food is always amazing. Service, 0/10 if I could. Every single time I have been here, I have ordered takeout. And every single time, the person at the counter is RUDE. It hasn’t always been the same person but the little blonde girl I got today, took the cake for being the most rude one yet. Had an attitude from the second I walked in. Was rude when I gave her my name “you had an order for WHAT” was her response. Was rude when I tried handing her my card then THREW my card instead of handing it back to me. At this point, I asked if she had to throw it to which she responded “nobody threw anything” . Had me sign a receipt that she then grabbed off the counter and crumbled up while I stood at the door. Rude rude rude. I understand a bad day. But WOW. Wouldn’t recommend this place if you want good, kind service. I don’t know why I have given it this many chances. What appeared to be the manager brought the food out at which point I expected maybe an apology or even an explanation for such a nasty attitude from her, but nope. Nothing. Hopefully the customers after myself received better service.

Sake Blue is a very good place to eat, but be ready to spend some money. I am sure it is close to market value, I am just not used to spending $30+ on a meal. Yes, I do realize that everything including fast food has gone up a lot in the last few years, so I am not going to hit them to hard for this, just a mention. The sushi and hibachi are both very good and generous portions. We did not sit at a hibachi grill because they were very busy, but the experience was still very good! No complaints on cleanliness or service as dining area was very clean and wait staff were on top of things.

I was excited to try some different veggie sushi rolls and was not disappointed! I got 3 that I've not seen at other places. I'll definitely come back! One of my kids liked the LA roll, minus the sauces. It's a fried California roll! Other kid got the Yaki Soba, which would easily feed 3 people! The miso soup and veggie miso were also great! We had great service as well.

Sake Blue is one of the best sushi places in Louisville. Great tasting food and great ambiance. Expanded bar area is a plus given there is usually a wait for this popular restaurant.

Pretty much the best sushi you're gonna get in KY. At least from what I've had here. The Ecuador was so good, fresh tasting too. The big mouth was incredible, warm and creamy center with an external crunch to it. Of course the salmon cream cheese was about the same but with a smoky flavor that was out of this world. It is a bit pricey but its delicious, friendly service, order was correct and they give you plenty of chop stocks and soy sauce/ wasabi and ginger. Worth the money.

Excellent food and service. I have heard this is the best hibachi in Louisville but I disagree. I prefer Sapporo because the food is a little better and they actually take reservations. Sake Blue doesn’t take reservations which is unfortunate because wait times are extensive on weekends and holidays. I also wish that the hibachi chef would not handle the different meats with the same spatula. Some people do not eat seafood or red meat and don’t appreciate the spatula touching those meats before touching their food.

This one of my “must go” places in Louisville. We always start dinner with The Rock, super hot stone served with thin sliced beef and three dipping sauces. Every specialty roll I have ever ordered is delicious. My favorite are the Picasso roll, Big Mouth Roll and Sake Blue roll that will burn blue fire when served. I have never had their hibachi but it always full and noisy so it must be very popular.

Food is great and cooked perfectly, I got steak medium rare. Atmosphere is a little on upscale side and I think you kind of pay for that. A little expensive. Service people were great but wait time was kind of crazy. Wasn't that busy when we arrived and still waited 40 minutes for our food. By the time it came we had to get boxes and leave.

Always amazing!! I do advise if you're interested in take out make sure you order in advance. Take out time is usually about 45 minutes and if you're not going to dine in during lunch hours or during the day at night you're looking at about an hour plus wait. But it is well worth it.

I've been coming here for about 10+ years now, and today I had the BEST sushi roll I have ever had in my life. Red Phoenix Roll is what I always get, and its never bad, but today it's like the hand of God made this roll. The fried asparagus was still hot and crispy, the ratio of hot sauce to spicy crab, to cucumber, jalapeño and avocado was nothing less than perfection. Each bite was like biting into my taste buds wildest dream. I'll forever be chasing the deliciousness that was my lunch today. Thank you, and please, keep up the great work. 👍🏻

As far as I am concerned, Sake Blue is the finest Japanese restaurant in Louisville. The menu creations boggle the mind and the food goes far beyond excellent! The calamari was to die for, and our waitress suggested a roll the lakes of which I have not seen or tasted anything as rich and flavorful as that roll. Wish I could remember its name. The main dish was something like Sake Blue plate. I wish I had taken pictures! For dessert we had a deep fried cheese cake with homemade whip cream and chocolate drizzle. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She constantly tended to our drinks, and continually made sure that everything was perfect. She was very friendly, professional, with a nice touch of bowing when complemented and when the meal was complete and we were leaving the restaurant. This is probably the finest restaurant meal I have had in years. This review may sound a little over the top, but you will get it if you take the time to try. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

Good food but they completely ignored my shelled fish allergy. I ordered a salmon sushi roll and Gave me a crab roll...I. ate almost all of them untill I realized something was off and it was crab.. (it up bieng imitation crab). It was totally different then I ordered.. regardless...they did try to make it right but at the same time I could have died! But take it as you will

Second time being back at the restaurant. Wouldn't mind going again anytime soon, love the sake samples we've ordered and the most of all the chefs they're amazing on preparing the food and I would also like to try out their other kind of food. Also the bar tender Maggie is super friendly and knows the definition of positivity. I'm looking forward to try out another drink she serves😉👍

The server's behavior significantly detracted from the enjoyment of the evening and put a damper on the overall experience. When the chef was rolling his cart away at the hibachi table, she dropped off to go containers, bags, and then return with the checks. Rushing customers to leave before they've even had a chance to enjoy their meal is unacceptable. As a former server, I understand the importance of balancing the needs of the kitchen and the guests while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. Unfortunately, this server clearly missed the mark and failed to deliver even basic customer service. the food may have been good, the negative experience with the server outweighs any positives. Given this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning in the future.

This restaurant has never let me down. I have been here hundreds of times over the past decade and it has always been great. It is my favorite restaurant and the passion blue sushi is out of this world! The sauce they put on it is made in house and you can't find it anywhere else!

So far haven’t found a better place to get sushi in town. There are some extremely unique options on the menu that you won’t find anywhere else. We’ve both dined in and ordered takeout, and the orders and service are all consistently great. I think I was the least impressed with the takeout hibachi as compared to other places, but loved the sauces. This will continue to be my go-to.

I ordered filet mignon thinking it would be very flavorful but it wasn't! It was cut up in cubes and I like to cut mine up thinner and smaller pieces. Also it was served with vegetables that I don't like. The carrots, onions and broccoli were hard. I was very disappointed!!! I usually love their food.

You pay for the experience of the hibachi, entertaining. Expensive combo meals and you can share a meal which is plenty for two people. But have to pay a sitting fee of $9 and you get your own soup and salad. It's customary to tip the chef, then on the final ticket they add gratuity. What I didn't like was they left a tip line open after already adding the tip. Felt it was deceiving?

It was our first time visiting Sake Blue. The staff seems polite and courteous. I was with my 2 kids (ages 9 & 10) and we having high expectations to enjoy some Hibachi & Sushi. We ordered a California Roll & Shrimp Tempura. The Sushi was delicious and the tempura was fried to perfection. The Sushi was very fresh. Wasn't very pleased with the Hibachi station. Although the Chef was super nice the food tasted sweet. The Chicken teriyaki was hard to chew. A LOT of butter in the cooking there was no taste of spice. It was more of a taste of butter, Oil mixed with Soy sauce. I guess we will visit again ONLY for the sushi.
