Good local (yes I know it's not really local) grocery. Locals in the neighborhood can walk, bike, or stop on their way home and find an excellent selection of fresh fruit and veggies, and a little less impressive selection of other food items, though I not sure what they don't have that you might need. It's clean and well lit with a deli counter, fresh breads and pastries (assuming cuz I didn't actually get any). Store staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a less corporate experience. Parking is a non-issue because it is located in a small mall that has large lots front and back. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood or passing by and you have the time, even if you don't need anything in particular.

I have been going to shop at this location for over a yr now, and NEVER HAS A CASHIER ASKED ME IF I WAS SPLITTING MY PURCHASE OR USING EBT. No offense to the people that have to do that but don't be so judgemental as to assume so either. Let the customer tell you how they need to pay. Just rude and borderline profiling not cool.

Let's just get it out there... Worst grocery store I have ever encountered. Rude, slow employees are just the tip of the iceberg. Food is overpriced. DO NOT even entertain the seafood counter. Unless you enjoy worms in your salmon. Oh and they seem to think it's a good idea to cram displays in the middle of already small isles. Just wait the fun is not over. The check out is a disaster. Disgusting register areas that need to be condemned, and what could be the world's first self checkout island. These four self checkout are very old, often malfunction, and you will almost guaranteed to need assistance with the faulty equipment. Do yourself a favor and just don't. Update (07/12/2022): Still as bad as ever!

Always thought that the valu market was a little bit pricier than the larger chains BUT now it's on par or CHEAPER so I find myself there more and more often. And don't forget that they have the Worlds BEST fried chicken!!! Woohooooo..thanks valu market!

I love Valu Market - Mid City Mall as a grocery store option ! In the middle of Highlands neighborhood! They have more International options, local options and unique products ! Bought 2 drinks yesterday - one for me & one for my boyfriend! Enjoyable!

Deli Store To me that's one of the best parts. Fresh Sandwich. Fresh Cakes. All kinds item to pick from in their Deli. They have a selection of Vegetables that is great..fresh and inexpensive. Plus they have some item other stores don't. Best way to get in and get out .Do the Self Check Out. Its Simpler and faster than waiting in line . Plus go to the back of the store they, have a nice Cold beer Cave.They have a very Large variety of Beers to chose from. Drop be to see. The also take coupons.Use them as often as possible.

Kinda of outdated for a grocery but word on the streets is that they are getting new scanners.. yay value market. Best plate lunch in the city. They even carry Drake Cakes a.k.a. Ring Dings. Ladies on the hot side of the deli are always very helpful. Also they have an actual butcher in the meat dept. Meat always looks fresh and not dye injected, and the prices in this dept are very reasonable. Truly the neighborhood market.

Valu Market offers so much for a grocery store of its size! It has an impressive range of grocery staples, and probably the best selection of craft beer you'll find in a grocery store environment. Their service during the pandemic has been wonderful, offering easy, organized, and timely curbside delivery at a time when it seemed like every other grocery store just couldn't manage it. Now that things are opening up again, Valu Market is still a great bet for good selection and friendly, helpful service.

Their stock rotation is terrible, my friend bought protein shakes the day before a surgery and didn't realize they had expired until after she had begun drinking it and it was bad. They are literally selling expired food at full price. Produce is also not fresh sometimes. The registers are from probably 30+ years ago and sometimes the employees struggle with the manual entry codes. I avoid shopping here. They do however, have some local products. Maybe if it were cheaper I would shop here for convenience but I'd rather make the trek to aldi.

They're always very nice and the deli platter I got for Pride was a huge hit. Absolutely delicious!!

Went here to use the restroom. It was clean. Everything working properly. Would use the restroom here again when in the area

Fair price on groceries, good deli food. Usually the best produce in town, for a grocery store.

EVERYONE IS SO NICE. they greet well, they make sure we leave with a smile. The shelves are stocked nicely. Good community.

I went into valu market in mid city mall to pick up a few sales items. I was able to find what I needed no problems .

I go there on occasion nice little grocery store, conveniently close to bardstown road.

I encountered two rude employees at the cigarette section who ignored me for about 4 minutes before doing their job because they wanted to have happy hour. Then as I checked out my cashier was so full of apathy I sensed she may be gone to the dark abyss never to return. Thoughts and prayers to all of you for a brighter attitude. 😎 Otherwise a great shopping experience.

Awwww love Valu market at mid city and folks that work there. It’s your local grocer w the best local meats veggies and fruits. A little pricey but paying for convenience is a thing

Super cute place with a lot of good choices. They have local ice cream and beer! Along with all the other things.
