Oh WOW! New neighborhood obsession unlocked! The owner is super sweet and gave me a free rice pudding to try. Definitely a go-to if you’re in West or needing some excellent flavor and comfort in your belly.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences of my life. The owner was the most welcoming man and everything I tasted was out of this world. The classic mango Lassi matched my shirt and he took my picture ;~; He whipped up a Rose lassi with roses from his garden for us to try as well as chaat because i was a first-timer(: Thank you so much!! I will most certainly be back.

Who says healthy food had to be boring? Pull up to the west Philly staple and Chef Zé will hook it up! The chaat and mango lassi were incredible. Def will be my new go-to

Super delicious Halal food in a small corner shop, they also had maybe the best mango lassi I’ve ever had Order: 2 Chaat (Chicken and Paneer) and Mango Lassi About: $30 Review: My wife and I were looking for some quick delicious food and I’d read some good things about Mood cafe, plus we both love middle eastern food. To top it all off I didn’t actually know what Chaat was and I love trying new food so we know this was our stop. First up, chaat is apparently a semi-universal term for street food, so not all chaat is really going to be the same. This chaat was basically a combination of potatoes, chickpeas, a kind of chip, then the main topping of your choice (chicken, paneer, samosa, etc), then topped with a yogurt based sauce. This might sound a little different but it was absolutely delicious. We did prefer the chicken because it had a bit more flavor than the paneer but we thoroughly enjoyed both of them. We also got the mango lassi and it was AMAZING! It’s absolutely something you need to go and if you don’t like mango they offer several flavors. We got to talk to the owner a bit and he was super helpful (explaining chaat, how he makes it, and just having some cool conversation). The only challenges were that parking (like every place in Philly) was not easy and the cafe is VERY SMALL (like 8 people small). We watched a handful of people walk in and get their order to go so that seems to be the thing to do if you know what you want. This shouldn’t stop you from going though, Mood was a great stop. It had very filling, delicious, fast food.

The Rose Lassi is my absolutely favorite drink to get, and the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer are excellent. The owner is very welcoming and personable and uses saffron in his desserts and rice

Mood Cafe is incredible. No notes. What really sets this place apart is the kind owner. He cooks because he cares about people eating good food. It helps that the food is freaking delicious. He has perfected each dish and shines in his interactions with customers. I love Mood Cafe. I would eat at Mood Cafe everyday if I lived in Pennsylvania. But I don’t. So that sucks. Mood Cafe, I love you. I love your mango lassi and your biryani, samosas, and that street food dish that’s sweet and spicy and tangy that I don’t remember the name of but I scarfed down anyway. Eat here. Now. Do it. Eat it for me. Mood Cafe.

Authentic Lahori place! Amazing collection of Lassis and Chaats, owner likes to strike up a conversation so if you are not in the mood of talking you can order take away, thats what we do. But food is really good, nice snack place

We came here for lassi and it didn’t disappoint. Hassan the owner is very generous and friendly. Great value and menu. Best and freshest lassi we’ve ever had. Best in town hands down. Date and banana and almond/pistachio are bomb !

Wonderful time at the Cafe. Their chat is excellent and so are the samosas. Lassi was delicious with the right hint of tartness from yogurt and the sweetness of mango. Chicken biryani and rice kheer were really good as well. Hasan , the host was so hospitable. A memorable afternoon.

Started a new summer tradition of ordering a Mango Lassi once a week on my walk home. The owner is so sweet and personable 🥹 I need to try the food next!

Chaat is some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted. Each bite is different than the last, with varying textures and flavors. Hasan is a wonderful host, offering excellent service and extremely good food. This is an must-try, extremely memorable experience. I highly recommend it.

It is safe to say that the samosa chaat and mango lassi exceeded our expectations! The chaat is flavorful in multiple dimensions. It has a lovely combination of sweet, creamy, crunchy, cold, and more. Everything compliments each other brilliantly. The mango lassi was so light and refreshing, even on a cold winter day. We can’t wait to come back to try more chaat and lassi flavors!

The owner really made me feel special when I came in to pick up my order. He went out of his way to make sure my order was special. Big smile, and great customer service! I didn't even talk about how delicious the chaat is.. the samosa was wonderful and the garlic naan went great alongside. Not to mention, the rose and cardamom lassi was impressive!

Good dude owns this place and Desi Village. He is really friendly. Chaats are tasty and come in a good portion for the price. He also has about 60 lassi flavors (like a yogurt smoothie or milkshake) and will tell you which fruits are in season.

I came in just to order food to go, but Hassan made this easily one of the best experiences I have ever had at any restaurant. He was friendly, funny, and wanted us to have the best experience possible. Not only that, but he told me that the chaat he makes would be better than anything I ate in India. He did not disappoint. The rose-cardamom lassi was also incredible, for which he used real roses, bringing an out-of-this-world taste. The rice dish was also delicious, and was tons of food for what you pay for. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Positively lovely experience. The owner is so sweet and kind and even gave us a few things on the house to try! He even grows the roses for the rose lassis 🥹. Great prices too!

I ordered a samosa chat from Mood Cafe, and it was so tasty. It had the right amount of sweetness and heat. I have been craving authentic samosa chat for a long time, so I am glad to visit Mood Cafe. The owner was very kind and hospitable.

The food is absolutely delicious! Every dish was fantastic, although the paneer was definitely the star of the show! It is freshly made and is incredibly rich, soft and flavourful. The owner is one of the kindest and most generous people you'll ever meet. Cannot say enough good things about this place! Definitely one to keep coming back to over and over again to try out everything they have!

The owner is so delightful! My partner loves spicy food wanted a little bit more of a kick (here I was thinking it was plenty hot tbh). They asked the owner for hot sauce and he chopped up some green chili's for us, very accommodating! We got the aloo tiki wrap and guava lassi. The guava lassi wasn't particularly sweet so if that's not to your taste, try out the fig (which my friend got and graciously let me try). They also give you the little extra bit from the Lassi like an old school diner which is fun.

Stumbled on this place when we were looking for a place to grab fries for our son and I’m so happy we did! We got a delicious samosa chaat and papri chaat along with mango lassi. Portions are extremely generous and delicious! It was great getting to speak with the owner and learning about his restaurant journey.

I really liked the tasty and healthy food. If we are talking about a pleasant atmosphere and people who really care about your good mood, then you will definitely like it here. The owner is a very nice and generous person! 100% recommend 👌

Incredible food, delicious lassis, lovely owner. Can't beat it. Definitely more of a takeaway than an eat-in but we prefer eating curry at home anyway.

The food is absolutely great! Some of the best lassis we’ve ever had! Would 100% recommend going here if you want a warm, flavorful meal that tastes like home.

I eat at Mood Cafe at least once a week. The owner is a sweet, generous and hardworking man. The chicken tikka is delicious and he allows you to try his Lassi before you commit to buying. My favorite Lassi is the Mango Lassi and the vegan Lemonade and Peppermint Lassi. The restaurant is also a great place to get work done. I recommend Mood Cafe to all my friends.

Best customer experience in a long time! The chicken biryani was YUM-MY. The owner is prob the sweetest guy on earth - he gave some delicious extra sauces and even offered me a lassi (my first one! SO GOOD). Can't wait to go back!
