I stayed in all "top" Luanda Hotels, but after the opening of the Intercontinental the whole market changed. None of the other hotels, including 5 stars hotels are comparable to the high quality of the provided services by Intercontinental. It is the only real international top hotel chain and the services, all staff (cleaning services, guards, services, restaurants, middle or especially the top management) are amazing and treat you as a special guest. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable mattresses, beautiful marble (and pristine) bathrooms), the view over the city bay... the view... Other hotels are fine, but none accumulate my 5 stars rating in all different provided services. Thank you for making me feel home every time i am a guest in this amazing Hotel.

Very beautiful hotel with a modern architecture inspired by cruise ship. I stayed in a suite which great, super clean and has a stunning view of the city. Its also ideally located and nearby Marginal a great place for a walk or walk by the sea. The staff is polite and welcoming and you can seat the pool side to chill with good music .

In summary, very mixed feelings about this place, probably a decent option for work related stays but better to be avoided for any form of special occasion or vacation. We stayed at the hotel for one night as an IHG Platinum member with the specific intention to celebrate new year as a couple. We booked the stay including the dinner buffet. The good: - the building is really nice and modern. The rooms are large. The bathtub was one of the longest I have seen in any hotel. We had a nice view from the room. - The swimming pool is nice and was quite warm. - Importantly, the whole complex is very safe - The breakfast buffet was extensive - I did feel like the staff tried to help with the many issues we faced, but was probably just disorganized or untrained. So... The Bad: - We booked via the app but by accident only entered one person. When we tried to add a second person at the frontdesk the staff was overwhelmed and we needed to talk to the IHG person and it took them in total 30 minutes to figure this out. Also after we were in the room they told us they forgot to ask for the signature and would need to come to the room to get it. I really wonder if the front desk staff is properly trained. - The biggest issue we encountered was when we tried to go to the buffet dinner we had booked with our reservation in the evening and we were told all restaurants are closed because it's NYE and the only way to get food is to either get some bites in the very basic looking hotel bar or have room service deliver a la card. So we choose a la card. After 90(!) minutes the food arrived but they were out of some items, worse yet, a number of items were incorrect which is a big deal as we have food restrictions. We called them and told them what's wrong / not edible, they said they would deliver it, we waited for three hours and they never did. In summary probably the worst NYE experience in any hotel we have had. - small nuisance, no pillows on the pool bed, had to lie on the wood, and no towels, we chased the staff and it took them a good 20 minutes to find towels. - even though the complex is safe, the hotel is on top of the hill so you can't easily walk places. What makes matters worse is that the hotel charges an astounding amount for the hotel taxi (i.e. 150 USD (!) for a 10 minute airport dropoff that's just 5-6km away, that is exactly 50x what a normal taxi on ride hailing apps charges, so luckily the staff helped calling a regular taxi via their app, note international ride hailing apps don't work in Luanda at this time so you need a local number and you need to pay cash... - Which brings us to the next problem, there is no ATM in or around the hotel, nor is there a way to exchange money, that seems like a very rudimentary service lacking here. So if you don't bring cash, be prepared to pay for the most expensive taxi rides of your life - the lobby is stunning but the cool glass elevator was not functioning - to top it off, both of us got food poisoning after the stay. Since the only items we shared were during breakfast it was probably one of those

Beautiful, modern building. Great location, at a highly valued part of town, Miramar. Excellent view, sitting on atop a hill, it's got a seafront view and a view to the town centre as well as a historic sites. Ample parking space, two entrances, great restaurant and bar. Friendly staff and great amenities with a pool and swim bar, jewleries, bank and ATMs, ballroom and conference centre

Never disappoints This place is expensive and it's worth it. Staff is super attentive and helpful. I have gone there a couple of times for the brunch experience and it never disappoints... Full service, main course, dessert and lots of salads. So many options. And the view on the 24th floor is amazing. I honestly recommend. Kid friendly too

we have the hotel driver and one security man drive us to our boat who were both exceptional. We had severe difficulties getting through immigration and they were amazing and I would like you to tell them how impressed we were as they went well behind the call of duty on the 20th May 2023 We have forgotten their names but please make a note of this on their personal file

Stayed for 4 nights as I had few meetings in Luanda. The hotel is new, rooms are spacious and clean. Bed is comfy, good view, WiFi is average needs to be better. Breakfast was big and many options, they also served lunch and dinner buffet which was also good. Room service is good tried it once, you have to pay everytime rather than charging it to the room which was strange.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful! I had the best stay. I received an upgrade for being a Platinum Ambassador, which was very appreciated. Every interaction with staff, from the moment I arrived until the moment I left, was so kind. I'm not a native Portuguese speaker and everyone took the time to be patient with me and let me practice. The staff learned my name and were so friendly over the course of my stay. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety and includes made-to-order omelet and crepe stations. The food was very good throughout my stay and they even asked the temperature I wanted my steak for room service! I'm looking forward to the other restuarants opening for a little more variety. I've stayed at Epic Sana in the past, but moving forward this is definitely my go-to spot for luxury in Luanda.

This was my first visit to Angola and my first stay at the hotel. The hotel is fantastic and modern. The management has taken time to ensure everything is perfect, from the rooms to the service. The are still completi6some of the upper floors of this 23 story hotel but that by no means interferes with the guests comfort. Actually unless you are told you would never know its that good. I highly recommend it. The breakfast is great with a good selection and super fresh food and pastures. Lunch and dinner are ala carte unlike buffet for breakfast. I will definitely stay here on my next business trip.

I am very dissapointed about my stay. The hotel is brand new, architecture is outstanding, location is perfect, rooms have great view and my one was clean. But service is awful!!! I booked an airport shuttle in advance and got a false confirmation, that I corrected. But still, there was no shuttle waiting for me. Luckily another guest invited me to his shuttle, but the driver firstly refused to take the both of us. Shuttle was Uber-quality, not according to the hotel standard, but well, I was happy finally I was taken to the hotel after a discussion of 20 minutes. During my stay staff gave me wrong directions when I asked for the conference rooms but the worst thing was about my bill. I asked to pay in the middle of my stay. They calculated the final bill including airport transfer and booked the money from my credit card. They informed me, they could give me the printout only when I leave. On the last day I asked for the printout and was told that I was charged too much money from my card. But they also could't refund me the overpayed amount, as I was the first guest and they didn't have enough money on the card-reader!?!? I ended up in a discussion that took me 40 minutes to finally have the overpaid amount on my bill as `trasfer-costs`. I finally took my wrong bill angrily, in order not to miss my flight , and left. I asked about correction lateron by e-mail, but didn't receive an answer. Also if I asked a couple of times. Sorry, this is not okay for a hotel that want's to be five stars!!!

While this is an international hotel with very good ambience. The service is pathetic and food served is very poor. The breakfast menu is so routine that it does not look good.

The best hotel in Luanda. You can find the the definition of luxury at the InterContinental Luanda with top quality facilities, amazing food and impeccable service. This is by far the best Hotel in Luanda. Last but not least, the director Nuno Neves and his team were always there to provide any assistance needed, including providing a courtesy ride from the hotel to the tennis club on a Saturday when the hotel was full with guests for the funeral of a former president. Parabens!

Everyone knows that Intercontinental is top of the pops. Including their pricing politics. It shouldn't come as a shock. But still. The buffet restaurant... 35.000 AOA ~ 82 $US, before the beverages. (2022) The food and service was good, of course. But neither caviar nor oysters in chamber music setting. Price and quality should be proportionate. In a country where I don't speak the language, it was nice to engage with well-educated Englishspeaking staff. The TV channels selection sucked! Big time! Only American third grade news and movie channels. Plus BBC World and Sky News. No international, African or local channels. What a shame. Do learn from the Gulf region Intercontinental hotels. Waisted opportunity to learn something while travelling.
