We stayed here for 5 days 4 nights. This is a very beautiful and Laos place. The Mekong River is right in front, and there are many shops around. Breakfast has a few varieties, but tastes great. The staff are very cooperative. This is an eco-friendly hotel, try the Luang Prabang beer they serve. However, there are not many facilities. (gym, swiming pool) The staff said there was no swimming pool because this place is heritage.

A great get away vacation in this beautiful hotel. Everyone works in the hotel is super sweet. Especially thanks to Mr.Thong, who help as much as he can. Strong recommendation for a vacation stay!

The hotel was conveniently located along the river with a beautiful balcony view of the Mekong River. Room was large, always clean with good water pressure and air conditioning (super helpful during the hot summer months). The breakfast was very high quality and everything was delicious. From the salads and noodles to the juice and coffee, everything was top notch. Best of all was their hospitality. Bi and the manager went out of their way to make me feel welcomed. They were helpful with answering questions, recommending restaurants and solving problems. WARNING: there is lady running a convenient store across the street who claims to sell tourist rice for morning alms giving. Be careful with her! She overcharges by a lot! She initially quoted 200K for some cookies and eggs and I said fine because I was feeling generous. Later she upcharged, asking for another 500K for 2 more plates of cookies and eggs, which is ridiculous. I expressed grievance to the hotel and they helped me resolve matter. For that, I'm really thankful but hope that others would not fall for the lady's scam which could ruin others' holiday or perception of Lao people.

Spent 8 days here in Sept/Oct. 2022, what a fantastic place! The staff is top notch and some of the nicest people, always quick to help out if you need anything. We had stayed here for a day in a previous stay and loved it so much we booked it again as soon as we booked our flights to return to Luang Prabang! It was the old palace for the King and his family so lots of cool history there. Breakfast (which was included) was amazing too, and the river-view restaurant offered great drink specials and delicious, reasonably priced food, all top notch. And we are definitely not the type to eat at hotels usually, but the food and service was 10/10. The room was exquisite as well, always clean with a nice soak tub in bathroom and a private little pool w/ jets on the ground floor. We’ll be back soon!! :)

I can only rate restaurant cause the only place we visited in this place. They have a very good marketing with playing every night at 7pm black and white movie "Chang" from 1927. That is main reason we came here and it was really worth it! Movie is 1hour long and it was a pleasure to watch. I ordered curry with fish which was very good ! My fiance ordered fish and chips which she enjoyed as well a lot:)

This is such a nice and peaceful place. One of the few places in the world where human culture and nature play well together. Can’t beat a nice coffee on the bank of mighty Mekong right next to Wat Xiengthong! We even went for a 10km jog around the old town in a perfect running condition of 23oC, fresh, clean morning air.

Victoria Xiengthong Palace surpassed all my expectations! The service was impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. The luxurious room, stunning views, and delectable breakfast made it a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!

Great location but rooms not worth 130 dollars when there’s guest houses a few hundred yards away for 1/5th of the price and the same size. Probably say 60-80 max

Stay where a King and Queen lived - what’s not to love. On the river with restful views and within walking distance to the “hustle and bustle “ of night market and restaurants. Laos offers excellent value for money including this 5* hotel. Restful room with all the luxuries to make you relax. Attentive staff - Mr Thong went beyond his job description to ensure we were treated like king and queen. Thank you Victoria Palace

Perfect for families. Massive king sized bed, huge suite. We were in the Lotus Suite. A true respite from the heat of Luang Prabang. Staff would greet the kids much to their delight. They even received a little gift bag from hotel. Breakfast is okay, nothing to sing about. No pool is unfortunate but we knew that going in. It’s also a bit of a distance from many of the sites, but that also means you’re in a very quiet part of the historic town. We saw the morning Alms walk behind our hotel without another tourist in site. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Definitely the best experience trip in Luang Prabang. The room is very spacious and well-equipped. Beautiful hotel, especially location and designed, right next mystic Mekong river where you could see the sunset and people watching, you could wake up early to see the rituals with monks receiving alms in front of the hotel. Breakfast is very delicious. I would definitely choose to stay here again for my next trip. In general, I highly recommend.

Yesterday I saw the movie 'Chang' at this place. Besides that the movie was very interesting, I also enjoyed a very nice dinner (and service) and a important talk about Lao culture with host Chan who taught a lot. Next time I will book here for sure!

First I have to say, their restaurant is great, cheap and fabulously tasty. One of the best I ate at in southeast Asia and I am living here for years. Second, and now it's much less funny, their suites (rooms) are very bad (and particularly for their price!): old very noisy aircons, tv of my Grandma, uncomfortable beds, total lack of noice isolation between rooms, very bad WiFi (better buy 5g sim card or roaming). The staff make it's best and is very friendly. The problem comes from the investment in maintenance and improvements, where is the money going to??

During my recent trip, I had the pleasure of staying at Victoria Xiengthong Palace which exceeded all my expectations in terms of service and quality. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly and professional staff that made me feel like a valued guest. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of my stay. The room was impeccably clean, and the furnishings were tasteful and comfortable. It was clear that the hotel took great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and aesthetics. What truly set this Victoria Xiengthong Palace apart was the exceptional level of service provided. The staff members were attentive, responsive, and always ready to assist with any request. Whether it was arranging transportation, providing local recommendations, or simply ensuring that I had everything I needed, their dedication to ensuring my comfort was remarkable.

STAFF ARE VERY RESPONSIVE (even late in the night), friendly, warm and accommodating LOCATION IS ALSO VERY GOOD - especially if you'll take the river cruise ROOMS ARE VERY NICE TOO - It makes you just want to rest 😅 and not go out anymore ALL IN ALL MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT. It really makes the difference if a hotel/resort has good customer service (unlike other newer hotels who lacks good customer service)

I spent a week here in October and I couldn't recommend it enough. Terrific location, charming rooms, and the service couldn't be better. Lovely breakfasts overlooking the river and they even stocked the fridge with a couple local beers every day.

We really enjoyed our four night stay. The cocktails and breakfast were great, and the location is perfect- very close to the centre of town, but in a slightly more chilled neighbourhood.

We had a wonderful stay at the Victoria Xiengthong Palace during our bicycle trip in Laos. The hotel itself is very nice and right by the Mekong. The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly & welcoming, the perfect opportunity for us to have a good rest! The breakfast buffet was also delicious, with plenty and diverse local and western food. We would totally recommend it.

We stayed at the Mekong Suite. Big room with balcony. Lovely toilet with L’occitane toiletries. Great buffet breakfast out in the terrace facing the river. Will definitely come back and recommend this hotel. Reminds me of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore

Stayed here for 4 nights. Room and hotel are very well presented. Service is very good. Our balcony overlooked the road with the river beyond it. The staff placed little gifts on our bed before we returned, which was a lovely touch. I would have liked some focus on being eco friendly- no indication that we could reuse towels. The products supplied in the bathroom were L'occitane- which my husband loved. It would be nice to offer some locally produced products as well to support local people.

Amazing colonial style hotel. This place originally the house of Laos King. A lot of historical items and photos are still keept in this hotel. Having a beer Laos while viewing Mekong river from the restaurant is my favourite time here.

Located in the heart of Luang Prabang, surrounded by the golden spires of the town’s famous Buddhist temples is Victoria Xiengthong Palace, the last residence of the Laos Royal Family. This beautiful boutique property has been lovingly restored to its former glory, and once more sits proudly on the banks of the Mekong River. The 26 elegantly appointed rooms and suites capture the essence of Laos’ unique culture and style, with local materials and fabrics used throughout. Look out upon the majestic Wat Xiengthong – the town’s most famous temple, or simply sit back and soak up the ambience of this UNESCO protected palace, the perfect place to discover the wonder and charm of Luang Prabang – the Jewel of Indochina. Paceful and very beautiful

We arrived a bit exhausted after a long day on the slowboat, when we discovered a really quiet place with a super view on the Mekong river. The small white houses where really charming with their wooden parts. Our room was cosy and it was the first time since a while that I was able to chill in a bath. The people working there were so nice and the breakfast, amazing !! Between coffee, juices, fruits, yogurt, local food, international food, good bread and butter croissant, it was simply delicious !!

We stayed here for 3 days over Christmas as a treat and we loved every minute of it. The place is need of updating in some areas but this was completely outweighed by the attentiveness of the staff. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Water pressure was good.

We’ve stayed 3 nights in 2 difference room type. 2 first nights in Mekong suit were really nice, the view , the room, and quietness, reco for 2nd floor room view river view, but ask them to have the room without a tree blocking the view. 2nd room is Victoria suite, the room come with nice hotel pond view, but kind of open for others to see our living room too. If you want more private try asking them to have room 115 on upstair then. This room have bathtub but first room haven’t got it so make sure to request on this if you want. Staff all nice, and kind to our kids, helpful and all ready to service. Breakfast was okay, might not be much option as though, but enough for filling in before a short trip. Location is also great, in a quite area but short walk to many restaurant around. Would be our choice to stay again in LPB.

We stayed in 2 adjoined rooms on the second floor of Palace 1, ideal for our family of 4. Extremely grateful to Mr Thonglome who helped arranged it for us at the last minute. The rooms were beautiful with an old school decor and vibe. The hotel is located at the quieter end of the old town but right next to Wat Xieng Thong. You can still walk to where the shops are although the night market will require a tuk tuk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

Excellent hotel and service Recepionist Mr Thonglome and Resident Manager Mr Tri (help me take care luggage) One note: do not buy stiky rice for monk outside hotel because over charge (300.000kip/person for American guy). Ask and buy in hotel. They will repair for you

Amazing stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace! The place is beautiful and perfectly situated along the Mekong river. Rooms are very comfortable and it's super quiet at night. Perfect to relax and rest. Staff is always attentive and helpful to the guests. And the breakfast is a large buffet with both local specialities and western classics. Thank you for welcoming us!
