Super hotel with very attentive staff. Coconut 2 is a great room in the last of what appear to be 4 buildings. First floor, spacious, canopy bed, big armoire, separate toilet room, desk, chairs, table, and three doors that open to the porch that has two chairs and a table, overlooking the river. Loads of water, a mini fridge, bathrobes, nice linens, complementary basket of tangerines and a little jar of delicious toasted sweet rice sticks that got refilled daily. "Free" mini bar that comes with 2 beers and three soft drinks was initially very exciting, but turns out the beer doesn't get replenished even though we are here for 6 nights. Lovely restaurant across the street on terraces above the river. Free, very good breakfast. Free bicycles to borrow. Only complaints (normally wouldn't, but at $180 USD per night...): 1) The shower was very slow to drain so we ended up wading about and a long shower risked overflowing. 2) Coconut 2 was a lovely room but directly across from the cleaning closet so we were awakened each morning (7:30 am or so) by the sweet girl retrieving and replacing supplies and occasionally the videos the staff watch to entertain themselves while waiting for people to vacate their rooms for cleaning. Might make sense to have them start later since most people aren't out and about that early. 3) A great deal was made about the free mini bar and breakfast, etc. and the personal welcome note in the room was great, and the sweet treats that were replaced daily. Super smart move because guests paying such a high price feel good getting these "free" things. This sounds so petty but it would be worth a lot of good will to replace one or two beers in the mini fridge. As is it's not very fair to longer staying guests.

There are so many thoughtful and special and unique touches to this hotel but I want you to be surprised too so come see for yourself! You can expect a beautiful room with a spectacular river view and very kind staff who go out of their way for you…. “boutique” in the best sense. I stayed here 5 nights in July 2021 and loved every minute. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to Mr. V and other staff, and co-owner Damian for the hospitality.

We were staying in another hotel but moved over here for a couple of nights as this location was easier to view the alms giving in the morning. It is an excellent location to visit the older, UNESCO gazetted part of town, with the night market etc within walking distance and yet you are situated along a peaceful part of the river. The room was smaller than the previous hotel, but well appointed, with ample electric points. They also provide free drinks in the small fridge, which was appreciated in the scorching heat. The wifi was strong throughout the stay. We liked the sink fittings and dancer motifs in the bath area, but thought it would have been nicer to have a door between the bath and sleeping areas, rather than just a curtain, as even the slight noise I make in the morning can wake up the wife. It might even be a little awkward if the room is being shared by two friends or colleagues. There is no TV in the room, which we did not find an inconvenience. The floors are wood and beautiful, but can be a little slippery if well polished. I almost slipped in the room twice. Our room at one end is situated along a busy thoroughfare and there are eateries and bars nearby, so it can get noisy till around just near midnight, when there is a curfew. In the morning, one of the local neighbors wakes up pretty early and begins chopping wood, with chickens crowing too. The staff, especially Ms Khai (?) at reception, and those at the terrace restaurant, are friendly and always greet you with a smile. While they speak English, there can still be some miscommunication. We had asked for help in making dinner reservations. However, the eatery was closed but the staff did not tell us even as we were dropping off the room key, and we only found out after making a hot trek to the restaurant. We had also requested for room cleaning at 430 pm, as my wife wanted to rest, which reception said was okay, but housekeeping came knocking on our door at 1 pm, and then at 340 pm, as she said she went off duty at 4 pm. The hotel provided a free 1 hour cruise with beer or soft drinks - while nice, the boat did not actually move far from the hotel location and we were moored in the middle of the river for about 20 minutes around 530 pm during a warm evening. Perhaps the cruise could start at 6 pm instead, so it is cooler and there is a chance of catching the sunset. Overall, it was a good stay in nicely preserved heritage buildings, and a good base to explore a different part of the town.

Great experience! Great and attentive staff...always smiling! We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The food was great! The breakfast and the food we had was really tasty and served in a wonderful terrace over the Mekong (I still fell that papaya salad in my mouth -and my tongue!-Ahahah). It's been a true pleasure our breakfast or "aperitivo" here! The room are big (we had the one without balcony) but the view is amazing. The hotel is really clean and the room has got the "older time", colonialist look that perfectly matches with the city. The position is great, quiet but central: the morning monk procession is right behind the hotel (we tried different spot, and this seems to be the most authentic and non- touristic place). With a short walk you can reach everything (wat xieng thong, night market) and you can also use the free bike (great way to see luang prabang!). Great plus: Free fresh water at the reception!!! And they also can help you to rent a scooter (10 $ per day is a good price!). We also used they laundry service! Super super cheap and fast (1.88$ for little more than 1kg).

I spent 3 nights at this hotel. The hotel had its own distinct style of decorating the rooms and strong focus on environmental sustainability. I appreciated their effort to reduce waste by not using disposable plastic and napkins. One of my highlights of my stay was enjoying breakfast by river which was a great experience. In addition, during my check-in, I encountered some confusion due to a miss communication about the room I had booked. However, manager Damian was proactive in solving the issue and ensure that I was accommodated properly. My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. Thank you to the Belle Rive team!!

Great hotel in a fantastic location! All the staff incredibly helpful and friendly, especially the guys from the front desk. Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms and a lovely garden restaurant just over the river. Lots of good restaurants nearby too, very good value for money. We felt very comfortable. Definitely recommended!

Boutique tres Belle! A Lovely boutique charmer composed of multiple Colonial Heritage buildings. Personal hospitality, Colonial charm, Heritage beauty, and Artistic touch make this place unbeatable at this stunning location LOCATION: Excellent location in the heart of old town, by the banks of the mighty Mekong. DINE + DRINK: The wonderful Terrace restaurant and bar attached to the hotel, which overlooks the Mekong River, is a great place for sunset drinks and dinner. And the breakfast served there in the morning is a must-do and an experience unlike any other. Lovely local food savored with spectacular views of the Mekong and the mountains beyond! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. No Television in the room!

The Belle Rive is a fantastic Hotel. Everything is just perfect: the rooms are beautiful, the bed is cosy, its right at the Mekong and everything interesting is within walking distance. The food at the terrace is the best I had in Luang Prabang and the staff is polite, warmhearted and extremely helpful with everything. I can only recommend staying there.

This place is really nice. Our room was beautiful. The staff were all quite friendly and attentive, even late at night. The included breakfast was excellent. And of course the view from everywhere on the property is just epic.

Pictures are deceiving. I thought for sure I was getting a waterfront suite with views right into the river, but there’s a road in between that’s cleverly omitted from photos. Restaurant where you eat breakfast is on the river but not connected to hotel. Otherwise hotel is great. Amazing style, free minibar, snacks, free cruise and very attentive staff. There’s a laundry place behind the hotel with rock bottom prices. (We paid 10k Kip a KG), and the morning Alms walk right by.

Amazing place with great staff, yummy food, the best quality breakfast, lovely rooms and a view from the restaurant to die for. Very close to high street and everything else. Short walking distance to great cafes, restaurants, temples, coffee shops. You can also get free bicycle from the hotel. We will be back, thanks guys! Family of 4 from Samui ❤️

Best location in town, little hotel with nicely appointed colonial rooms, great dining spot overlooking the Mekong, good food, good drinks, good service and comfortable rooms with perfect air conditioning. Obviously not the top luxury, but sometimes you don't need much to enjoy, and this place is a gem to enjoy your days in Luangprabang. Thanks Belle Rive for a lovely stay, we truly enjoyed it!

We had a great time in March and I went with my sister and my mom. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially the front office staff, and Mr Vee who helped with the booking. Location is great, right in front of the Mekong river and the hotel provided a complimentary river cruise, which was absolutely worth it! Breakfast place overlooks the Mekong and was Ă  la carte style and so much to select from! Overall a great stay and value for money and room was also very comfortable. Really nothing to complain!!

Belle Rive was the first place I had booked during my Laos travel planning. The minute my friend and I arrived at this hotel, we loved everything about the place. The super courteous staff, the whole vibe about the place, and the town in itself made our stay very memorable. The room though a tad bit small in size had all the required amenities, was impeccably clean and the best part was the free mini bar which is unlike any other hotel I’ve stayed in. Breakfast every morning by the river in their terrace view restaurant was lovely and not to forget it was delicious too! The complimentary sunset cruise was nice. The icing on the cake was the free cycles and we really enjoyed cycling on the streets of LP! The location of the hotel is fantastic with every place worth visiting accessible. I must mention Somphone and the rest of the crew who made sure our stay in Luang Prabang was nothing but a home away from home! Would definitely recommend. Would love to come back here!

Great location, friendly and helpful staff along with a comfortable vibe made for a great experience in Luang Prabang. First and foremost, the staff deserve all the praise for making my stay at the Belle Rive easy, comfortable, and memorable. They were helpful in recommending activities, restaurants, arranging rides, etc. The room was cozy and comfortable, the most important thing is that the aircon worked well. The shower had hot water and The historic old town location is fantastic, so many great spots within walking distance and right on the river. Definitely worth every penny!

I want to say that this place is amazing. The location is fantastic, but what really amazes me is the people who work here. Everyone is friendly, genuine, and really cares about helping you enjoy your trip. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and I would come back in a heartbeat. It was the nicest place with the kindest people. If you are looking for a great place to stay, this is it.

We loved our stay here and would most definitely come back to this great hotel. The co-owner/manager—Damian—was a wonderful host. He obviously cares deeply about the experience at this place. The staff were uniformly well-trained, attentive, helpful and friendly. We loved getting to know them. They arranged airport pickup and drop off as well as a motor scooter rental. Definitely made things easy for us. We really appreciated their information book in our room. Tons of useful and interesting info there. Their location right on the Mekong and in the heart of Old Town was very convenient. Eating breakfast on their riverside patio was a delight. Thanks, Damian and staff. We had a very enjoyable visit!

The hotel is located at the more peaceful part of the town facing the river. The room is adequately equipped and comes with free fruits and drinks. I like their supply of water without restriction. The room is pretty and the aircon is strong. The front desk staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about activities to do in Luang Prabang. They arranged transport to the waterfall and train station. The breakfast was ala carte and the pancake was delicious. The restaurant crew were amazingly friendly and provided great service. They provide free bikes but also can direct you to direct ebikes or bikes. They do provide service to buy train tickets too. The small hiccups of the rooms are the floor can be slippery if you are wearing socks and the direction to turn on the cold/hot water is not labelled in the bathroom and basin. Strangely the owner seems to be selectively friendly to certain nationalities since he never greeted us even once during our 4-5 days stay. The free sunset river tour had some issues, the boat was imbalance when there were 10-12 people, causing the boat to tilted to one side and the captain instructed those inside the boat not to move around. Therefore, some couldn’t take photos on the deck. One guest almost fell in the river as the board to cross to the boat wasn’t secured properly. I think it is more worthwhile to try other less crowded river tour. However, the staff delivered a stunning service and i think it is worthwhile to stay if you like a peaceful location with good service crew.

We had a lovely time at this little hotel which is very well situated on the Luang Prabang peninsula. The staff was very friendly, even providing a birthday cake slice and singing happy birthday for my friend’s special day. The food at the restaurant is good; breakfast was included and served all day. Be sure to check out the relaxation garden (a few loungers) overlooking the Mekong. We were upgraded without asking to a more spacious room since I think it was a fairly slow time (July). The included sunset cruise is just okay. It would have been nice to have the option to purchase additional drinks (one drink is included free). I would most definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I rarely score a hotel perfect on all fronts but I am in this case. From the location, to the check in experience, to the range of information about Luang Prabang and the wonderful staff and team - it was amazing. I'm so glad I stayed here and would return in a heartbeat. It honestly has the perfect location for a restaurant and bar, and to sit having your breakfast (available all day) by the Mekong is amazing. The staff also arrange train tickets to save you going to the station and even arranged for a pick up at our next stop. Some of the best customer service I've ever had

I rarely write any reviews but this time I really felt I had to as my experience in the Belle Rive Boutique was amazing. Not only will you stay in really classy and beautifully decorated rooms in an old French colonial style house but you will also get amazing service. Big shoutout to the crew of the hotel working in service. Rarely have I ever seen staff that is so polite, friendly and genuinely interested in making your experience as pleasant as possible. That’s some serious professionalism there! Conclusion: Great experience, absolutely worth the money and it will enable you to enjoy Luang Prabang and Laos to the fullest.

Excellent rooms and exceptional staff. Rooms: when you arrive at the hotel, you will see a very small lobby area. I thought the rooms would be tiny too but to my surprise, they were not. We stayed in a twin room along the road. It was not noisy as I expected. Room was huge, very comfortable for two. Only downside is that the bathroom has a glass door which means you can see the person showering. Ok for couples but if you are not comfortable with being butt naked in front of your friends then this might be a slight problem. There is a curtain but that only separates the beds from the toilet and bathroom. Otherwise, the rooms are fantastic. For the price we paid, I say definitely worth it. Staff: Both the staff at restaurant and hotel are so friendly! The managers would come up and talk to us whenever they see us. The staff at the restaurant too, exceptional service! Location: along the Mekong river, you can have breakfast everyday facing the river. Awesome views at breakfast. Also, located within walking distance of most temples and markets in Luang Prabang. Perks: There is a free 1 hour sunset cruise for your stay at Belle Rive. Also, welcome drink and fruits (they gave us rambutans and mangosteens) in your room when you arrive. P.S. everything in the mini-fridge was free. Giving this hotel 5 stars because I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I visit Luang Prabang again.

They have a bar on a private deck over the road from the hotel. Great view to watch sunset and have a beer or some wine. Friendly staff and good service. It’s a popular spot so book in advance to get a table with a good view.

Our room view was incredible, it gives you a great ‘feel of the city,’ relaxing, beautiful, and located perfectly in the historical Center of town. There aren’t very many stop lights, because it’s a UNESCO site :-) The team was fantastic, Ken, Vee, and Boun ALWAYS greeted us with a smile! THE BREAKFAST WAS FREE, and incredible, GREAT cappuccino, well cooked eggs. We saved probably $70-80 in meals by eating breakfast here, it’s one of few walking options for breakfast.

Luang Prabang is a gorgeous tiny city in a magnificent setting, dominated by lush vegetation the majestic Maekhong. In recent years there has been an explosion of new hotels and guest houses, many of them world class with prices to match. The Belle Rive has charm and character because it is located in newly renovated old riverside dwellings. Being small it brings an intimate feeling that well complements the terrific view of the river. To sit on the balcony of your suite at dawn, drinking a self made coffee and watching the river come to life is magical. After that cross the not very busy riverside road to the hotel's unique restaurant on a deck over the river bank. Enjoy an excellent Lao breakfast, served with attentiveness and charm by the young local staff who are delighted if you converse with them. Lunch and dinner are equally good and the prices are good value in a pricey city. Within walking distance you will find not only the Royal Palace, the theatre in its grounds were you can watch night time performances, but a range of shops selling high quality local art & crafts, charming coffee shops, and outstanding restaurants like Blue Lagoon and l'Elephant. In addition you could visit the nearby house where local story telling takes place as well as a number of temples. The staff at Belle Rive will happily provide you with a helpful map and directions for exploring this gem of a city.

I absolutely love this hotel, saw it first when I was biking by and stayed there for 2 nights. The room is spacious and clean. If you stay in the river view room with a terrace, you have the best view of the city. Breakfast is served in the terrace cafe with a la carte unlimited choices. Very good juices and muesli! The staff is so kind and they make you feel home. Amazing selection of books in the lobby floor. They also provide high quality bikes for free. Will stay there again when I visit LP next time

We stayed in a Superior Room With Balcony for six nights. We had a very nice stay, and I have no regrets. However, given the exceptionally high rates they charge I would expect perfection, when in reality there were several largely preventable flaws. Room: very attractive, spacious, attractively furnished with a nice private balcony. The bed was perfect; the shower had good water temperature and pressure, but ours drained slowly. The bathroom was drab, with visible dust on the door frame and air vents. Being able to flush toilet paper was a pleasant surprise. Mini bar was free, but it was strange to me that they would not replenish it even though we stayed six nights. Extra credit for providing water in reusable glass bottles. Staff: very polite, gracious and personable. Every interaction with them was a pleasure. However, they made a lot of mistakes with our breakfast orders, and we were twice presented with inappropriate charges, which were cheerfully reversed when I pointed them out. Also, cleaning staff set up camp in a closet across from our room and woke my wife up several times by chatting and playing videos. Location: the view of the Mekong, from our room and from the restaurant, was terrific. Being centrally located, the hotel is within striking distance of most of the town's attractions, and free bikes made accessing some of the farther flung destinations a breeze. For whatever reason the riverfront road seems a bit noisier here that other points along the peninsula, but it wasn't a problem. Food: breakfast options were varied and tasty. We ate one dinner there and it was good. In summary, if I were to return to Luang Prabang I would certainly consider staying here again, but might consider other, less pricey options first.

Lovely hotel! Amazing view, the attached restaurant has the best views of the river and is where you get to have your breakfast in the mornings. Staff is so friendly - thanks Bien for all the help! They organized tours, bought our train tickets. Room was great. So glad we switched to this hotel! For a few days in LP definitely recommend staying near the main area.

We really enjoyed out stay at Belle river boutique, the location and the duplex style bedroom with river view from balcony feels so amazing, the architecture so picturesque..the staffs are very well behaved and so helpful. They even arranged our train tickets and at late night while kitchen was almost closed however they still prepared dishes and served us upon our request..
