Never been anywhere quite like this, obviously a pretty stark difference from anywhere else in the US, but super cool. As terrifying as the alligators can be, they are super chill, I had more of a problem with the insects honestly. The mangrove tunnels are absolutely a once in a lifetime experience, would totally go again

I just went today and I had a great time! I visited the Shark Valley part of the park. I did a walk along the trolley/bike trail and saw some alligators. There was even a gator on the side of the trail that was only 7 feet from me and sat in the sun. I never thought that I would ever be that close to a gator. I also saw some gators down the trail. I only had a couple of hours in the park, but the minimum time produced a great experience.

Such a beautiful place. I’d definitely recommend hiking a few trails and kayaking on one of the water trails! I stayed for just a couple days, but that was enough to hike the trails on the way to the Flamingo campground on day 1 (since most trails are under a mile long) and kayak Hell’s Bay on day 2. Both were unforgettable experiences. The Flamingo campground is very clean, quiet, and has great bathrooms (with showers). It also has a few hiking trails near it, great for sunset-watching!

I'm a big fan of national parks, but I thought this one was surprisingly mediocre. Not much to see or do and long travel distances between the things there is. Saw some cool things, but I'll still give it two stars.

Everglades national park is one of the best national park in my opinion. I love that there is so much to do and discover. The trails are amazing especially the anhinga trail there is a good chance of seeing gators. Also there is a program called junior ranger for kids that’s available in every national park. You do a activity packet and then get a badge.

Beautiful national park. The ticket for the car is $35 and it's valid for all 7 days of the trip and I think that's super cool. The walk can be as long as you like, it can be from an hour to three hours if you like.

Great park. Be mindful that cell reception is very scarce and spotty once you enter the Everglades. Fee to enter the park, but discounts are available if you can provide proper proof or carry a membership. Highly suggest the 15 mile bike trail. You can rent a bike or bring your own. Paved trail, entirely flat, and easy to maneuver. Great trail for beginners or those who would like a scenic joy ride. Always keep an eye out for wildlife and animals, as you'll often come across them while exploring. The trail has one rest stop at the halfway point to rehydrate or use restrooms. Not a shaded trail so pack supplies and dress accordingly. Really cool place to visit and detach for a while.

Such a vast national park, it can be difficult to narrow down which areas to explore with limited time. We found the airboat ride and nature show at gator park to be interesting. We also entered from the southeast for some short hikes. So much of the park is wetland limiting your exploration options, but there was still wildlife at every turn. Alligators, fish, lizards and birds were not hard to find. Keep an eye out for alligators as they were often laying right off the walkways.

Another National park off our bucket list. This park is more preserved and it’s about a 30 minute drive to get to the Flamingo visitor center once you enter. Make sure to have enough gas in your car before heading to the park. You might need a pair of water shoes in some areas due to low elevation and a bug spray for mosquitoes. Best time to see wildlife early morning.

A fun and wildlife-rich National Park. Alligators can be seen easily from Shark Valley, and manatees are common at the bays near Flamingo. In the swamps and jungles, snails, panthers and dozens of bird species can be found. The fish are also amazing, including Florida Gar and mosquito fish.

I've been to many National parks and they all never cease to amaze me in their beauty, the same can be said for the Everglades. It felt like I was transported to another world, the Flamingo Marina was amazing, seeing a Manatee swimming around the docks was special.

A good place to watch some wild animals in Florida. It is amazing to enjoy the beautiful nature here. You can rent a bicycle or take a train tour at the tourist center. Or just walk around. Nice national park indeed.

Everglades National Park offers a captivating winter experience for canoe enthusiasts, allowing a journey through diverse landscapes and an opportunity to encounter an array of wildlife, including crocodiles, dolphins, and countless bird species. When exploring mangrove labyrinths or enjoying ocean beaches during the day, be wary of biting insects that will keep you inside your tent from dusk till dawn.

While it wasn’t what I expected, it was pretty good in its own way. One thing I expected was that there would be alligators everywhere but there were a few. Instead of doing a company tour, we did a trail by ourselves and saw a lot of different wildlife. Food and drinks were sold every once in a while.

So many alligators, fishes, and birds here! The water is super clean. There’s no light pollution during night, you can easily see stars in the sky. I would recommend staying two days here, one day with kayaking, one day cycling, driving through, or hiking in the park.

It would take me quite literally all day to talk about my love for this ecosystem. But, since this is a review of the park itself I'll stick to the basics! Entry into the park was easy, my boyfriend paid but I believe it was $30 for 7 days. From there we drove for about 30 minutes, passing several pull off areas for hiking and kayaking. We stayed at the Flamingo Campground, the staff there was very friendly and informative. They sell both ice and firewood at the entrance to the grounds. Dogs are allowed but of course must stay on leash. (Please, please follow this rule.) I am actually allergic to mosquitos so I smothered myself in repellent. My boyfriend who is not sensitive, only had to apply minimally. Just be mindful, this is a wetland and mosquitos populations are high. Unfortunately, we did not see any alligators or panthers but maybe you'll get lucky!

Always worth a visit. The 7 day ticket is a great opportunity. First I drove all the way to Flamingo. The newly built restaurant is nice and not overpriced. But the wildlife in the Everglades is amazing. 2nd entry was &Shark valley, where I found tons of gators and other wildlife.

Beautiful swamp puppies abound in this pristine wilderness; amazing Dino-birds are plentiful as well! It’s amazing to get to see Florida in all her natural beauty. Highly recommend looking into non motorized watercraft to explore beyond the easy to reach places.

Park with lots of alligators and birds. Very flat land with limited trails to hike and very little shade. There is a great biking trail to see an observation point and alligators in the canals. Plan for 3 hours of biking plus stops to get the 7 miles to the observation point and 7 miles back. Saw some pretty lax parents who let their kids walk within 2 feet of the gators along the trail.

The tram ride was well worth the time. The guides provided insightful understanding on how and why the everglades exist, including the alligators. Significantly more enjoyable than the over developed Key West.

In the embrace of the Everglades, I found solace and inspiration. It is a place that compels us to reflect on our place in the natural order and encourages us to become guardians of this fragile paradise. Let us heed the call and ensure that the Everglades remains a sanctuary for generations to comeβ€”an enduring testament to the remarkable wonders of our planet and a beacon of hope for the preservation of our shared natural heritage.

Had a wonderful time on our airboat tour of the everglades. I've been to several national parks and they're all beautiful, but this one has an interesting deadly, quiet beauty about it. Absolutely gorgeous and HUGE. You will never see the entire thing, but the tiny portion we saw on our tour was well worth it.

I am not a big fan of Florida (mostly due to the weather), but I loved the Everglades! The wildlife was fascinating! Alligators and many varieties of birds were everywhere. This was the first time I saw gators in the wild, and the first time I saw flamingos anywhere! I had hoped to see a panther or bobcat while there, but that is exceedingly unusual. It was possible to get fairly close to the wildlife we did see without being in any danger thanks to the well constructed walkways. It was a beautiful place...but it was quite warm! I enjoyed our visit there!

got a little rained out when I went but got a small window to see the beauty of it! park rangers are great, the flora and wildlife are very unique/beautiful! I only wish I could've spent more time there. for $30 you get a 7 day pass so it's worth every penny!

Beautiful and very large National Park. Lots of short walking trails and docking areas to view the water. Somehow the only wild life we saw was this beautiful grasshopper and a Bald Eagle, however, it was not long after Hurricane Ian (I think). Still had a great trip and saw lots of stunning scenery! Can't control wildlife :)

Very well-kept. Need at least half day to get through all the short hikes at various points in the park. Take in an air boat ride if you can to see the interior and some alligators.

We rode the Homestead Trolley and the park's entrance fee is free... parking at the downtown facility is $20. The weather was great and no mosquitoes!

Nice visitor center, marina shop, campgrounds, and houseboats for rent. Definitely wear a good bug spray and bring benadryl spray if susceptible to mosquito bites when walking the trails near ocean.

We went in late afternoon on an extremely hot day however, it was still absolutely beautiful. Don’t diminish this national park for its lack of mountains or vistas. This place is beautiful. You just have to be patient.

By all means go and visit. Great park with so much diversity and lots of wildlife to see. Some easy and also challenging walks/hikes. We saw lots of birds but not many animals due to the python problem (we did not see any of those either). Went on two great tours one on a boat (not air since we actually wanted to see something) and with a naturalist. We did β€œglamp” for two nights. Book ahead! Nice to stay in the park and very comfortable. Mosquitos were not a problem when we were there. Of course there were some but not a nuisance with spray. Board walks around the ponds and out into the forests.

Although Beautiful!! The tour guide was extremely loud and too many air boats went out at one time causing too much noise you will barely see wildlife due to the noise and constant movement of the water. The ride is short and not worth the money in my opinon. On the other hand the Alligator show was Top Tier! I enjoyed that most!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing National Park! Very beautiful and diverse. I like how the trails and boardwalks show the different ecosystems. Be sure to bring insect repellent for the shaded trails. We weren't able to hike the Otter Cave Hammock Trail because there had been a lot of rain, and it was flooded. Many companies offer air boat rides, which is a great way to experience the Everglades and see some wildlife.

Wow, what a powerful experience visiting the Everglades National Park. We got there during the wet season and experienced heaps of rain, sun and thunder. As first timers, we opt in for some tours from the everglades rangers that were super helpful and knowledgeable.

Definitely need to visit here early for the best chance to see wildlife. You can book fishing trips and just tell your captain you want to go super early for the best chance to see alligators, manatees, and other cool critters. I personally love birds and we saw Kites and Egrets to name a few.

Book a full day trip at Expedia at the last minute of last night, and airboat in Everglades is part of it. We set off from Miami Beach island at 9:30 am and took ~1 hour to the park. There is an extra gator exhibition and good to know the difference between crocodile and alligator. Quite a fun and worth trip you should try if you’ve never been this before.

Seeing all the wildlife and foliage on the bike ride was a unique experience. Bring water, sunscreen, and snacks because there is nothing on the trail once you start your journey. Observation tour gave great views.

You can do the tour walking, by bicycle, or by park bus. It is 15 spectacular miles of nature, if you decide to walk or bike, you must be aware of the animals that may be on the way

Crossed another National Park off of our list. Seeing alligators in their natural habitat was very cool. My husband loved it. I personally loved the manatees.

Probably it is the most Tropical place in the continental US. It is worth a visit. Be warned you will find there the biggest mosquito concentration of the world! Great experience. Recommended.

Might be my new favorite place on earth. Amazing amount of wildlife. From manatees to gators and everything in between. Can't wait to go back.

I love this place. You may book an online ticket for a boat ride! It includes a show as well. Food is not great! Nest time I would pick up my food from somewhere else and take it to the park.

  • 4/5 Vince T. 2 years ago on Google
Everglades NP doesn’t bring the amazing diverse wildlife and stunning Mountain View’s, but what is does offer is a change of pace and gators. Hiking here won’t have challenges of altitude. It will be a struggle against the bugs and swamp land. National parks shouldn’t miss out on this land forgotten in time park. Just be prepared for insects and heat this park makes you earn its views.

The new restaurant is open! Wonderful menu with a full bar! So many birds! Osprey are nesting, hundreds of pelicans, egrets and more. The views are incredible. Take the boat tour or rents some kayaks and paddle around for a while.
