Its a beautiful masjid also known as tehseen ki masjid. Unfortunately hindus are not allowed to enter in the premises but its fine. Beautiful monument taken well care and respect. Marvellous architectural piece of Lucknow. Jama Masjid Lucknow Adding a unique charm in the historical significance of the city of Nawabs, is the famous Jama Masjid in Lucknow. Built by Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah Bahadur in the year 1839, Jama Masjid is one of the oldest historical landmarks in Lucknow. Along with being a popular tourist site, it also serves as an important religious centre in Lucknow for the Muslim community. Despite being compared with Jama Masjid of Delhi, this mosque has gained its own popularity because of its unique architectural design. Unlike Delhi's Jama Masjid, this one is built of Lakhuri bricks and is plastered with lime. At present, Jama Masjid along with other popular tourist attractions of Lucknow pioneer the tourism scene of the city. History The history of this renowned mosque is quite interesting. In the year 1839, Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah laid the foundation of Jama Masjid in Lucknow as an intention to surpass Jama Masjid of Delhi. However, his dream was left unfulfilled because of his sudden demise. Thereafter, his wife, Malika Jahan Begum, took the charge to finish of the construction of this much-famed mosque in Lucknow. But because of the shortage of funds, the original ambition was curtailed. Despite constructed on a low budget, Jama Masjid has an unrivalled charm. Architecture Like most of the popular historical sites in Lucknow, Jama Masjid also boasts an impressive Mughal architecture. It is completely built of Lakhuri bricks and lime. Along with that, the entire structure of the mosque is magnificently adorned with stucco motifs, which adds a different grandeur in the stunning architecture of Jama Masjid. The mosque complex is erected on a square terrace and stands straight on around 260 pillars. Inside the mosque, there is a prayer hall which is rectangular in shape and a beautiful facade of eleven arches that located on the west. The central facade is largest of all with includes an imposing gateway which is also adorned with gorgeous stucco work. On the top of the prayer hall lies the three pear-shaped domes that are exquisitely ornamented with the inverted lotus of their top. Along with that, these domes are surrounded four-storey minarets placed on either side. The walls and domes include the intricate patterns and mural designs. Along with that, various inscriptions can also be found on the walls of pillars. The tomb of Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah lies on the eastern side, whereas, the Imambara of Malika Jahan is also located on the western side of the mosque complex. Location Address Jama Masjid, Tehseenganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226004, India. Visiting Timings Jama Masjid of Lucknow remains accessible all day a week. One can visit the place at any time from 5 in the morning to 9 in the evening. Entry Fee No Entry Fee

Jama Masjid, Tehseenganj, Husainabad, Lucknow is a mosque is located at Tahseenganj near Unity College.. It is the most prominent mosque for whole Shia Community..from Majlis . . Azadari...Milad. .Jashn. .Mehfil. .and other important Religious events...this mosque is equally famous for all. The construction of this mosque was started in the year 1839 A.D. by His Majesty King Mohammad Ali Shah Bahadur (3rd King of Oudh) with the intention to surpass the Jama Masjid at Delhi in size.. ..But after his death the mosque was completed by his wife Queen Malika Jahan Sahiba in the year 1845 A.D. Built with "Lakhauri" bricks and plastered with lime, it is decorated with coloured stucco motifs. ...Standing on a square lofty terrace, it has a rectangular prayer hall, on the west with a magnificent facade of eleven arches. The central one is higher and provided with an unusually high doorway which rises above the roof in a sharply pointed arch decorated in coloured stucco. The prayer hall is surmounted by three pear-shaped high double domes decorated with an inverted lotus on the top and is also flanked by two octagonal four-storeyed tapering minarets on either side, crowned by "Chhatries" on the top. An Imambara known as Imambara Malika Jahan is also situated at the south of this mosque.

Another gem in the list of Lucknow tourist places in the Jama Masjid. Like all other masjids in the country, it is a spiritual center for Muslim devotees. But that’s not all. This 19th-centuary edifice is a visual treat and one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture in the city. A key highlight here is the giant pillars that feature Hindu and Jain carvings. The Masjid is very beautiful architecture-wise plus maintained very well. The Masjid area is very clean and neat. When we entered the masjid one man came to us and told us that non-namazis are not allowed inside which was kind of awkward for us so we left after clicking some pictures.

    (Translated by Google) Jama Masjid ie city's biggest mosque, Husanganj if you went big and small Imambara, clock tower, picture galleries, etc. After exploring that have not seen the Jama mosque Smjiye without've seen a lot. Construction of Jama Masjid Hussain Ali Shah then began with India's resolve to build the largest mosque in Husanganj area in 1839, but construction when he died, where his wife Begum Mallika was completed in 1845. The architecture of the mosque is very beautiful and very grand. These Lkuri bricks and made of lime, made only see its grandeur and beauty, say that this mosque is pretty much inside out, but also the Muslin religion in its premises in the people of any religion is denied. According to the people it has went very beautiful painting.

This is somewhat similar to Jama Masjid of Delhi, but in a pale yellow color. It is easily reachable. The place is so adorable and huge that it took me about a minute to let my eyes blink.❤ Idk much about it's history, but definitely gonna learn about how it was built etc.

mosques in India, the Jama Masjid in Lucknow is truly a gorgeous sight. Built entirely in yellow sandstone, the masjid was constructed by Sultan Ahmed Shah in 1423. Located in the midst of the city, the masjid is a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Also known as Jami Masjid, it is thronged by Muslims during auspicious occasions and festivals. Standing tall on 260 pillars that support the 15 arched domes on different elevations, the masjid is absolutely divine. With delicate designs on the domes and intricate carvings on the pillars, this architectural wonder will leave you spellbound. The designs on the pillars of the masjid have been inspired by Hindu and Jain cultures and its a delight to all those who witness it. The masjid still stands in all its grandeur and glory and is an example of the beauty and splendour of the times bygone, that this famous city has stood witness to. Thanks.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Wanderfull structural beauty of the masjid. There is strictly no entry for non Muslims. Don't know why.. if anyone know the cause then please tell me.. Famous Indian masjids are open for all like nakhoda masjid and Delhi jama masjid. Is they are hiding something from us ?? ( curiosity stricks in mind)..
