Certainly the best aquarium I've ever been to. So peaceful and relaxing. The animals look well cared for with lots of space. There is plenty of space to sit and observe the large tank with the sharks, rays and more. More expensive than most tourist attractions in Lisbon - but well worth the cost.

Now this is how an ocean aquarium should look like everywhere. It is so clean, well maintained, with healthy biodiversity. It is not very big, but it screams quality over quantity. And don't get me wrong, it is not lacking diversity or things to see, oh no. It has everything you want to see in an aquarium and designed in a very smart way. I go to the local aquarium anywhere in the world, where I travel despite the fact that I also dive a lot, but I have to say, this is one of the best ones. Great job.

In Europe this is one of the best aquariums available. It’s quite big, a great place to visit and has a great collection aquatic creatures. Well maintained and worth the time. The Underwater Forest is gorgeous, so take a moment to sit down and appreciate it instead of rushing past it. The aquarium in general can be very crowded and busy, so don’t go during the weekend, but go during the week.

Definitely worth a visit! Great place, amazing and relaxing atmosphere. It will be very interesting for both children and adults. The oceanarium is open every day, even on Christmas eve, when we were here.

Visiting the aquarium was one of the highlight for us. We came on Christmas Day when most stores and museums were closed. Surprisingly it was not crowded at all so we took our time there. The sea otters were so cute. The penguins were not afraid of us getting close. The whole space is very well designed and have lots o f spots to take pictures or relax. We also enjoyed the cable car ride. Lastly, if you are hungry try the restaurant there. They have high quality food prepared by real chefs. We loved our hamburgers and chips. The seagulls agree with us because they take every opportunity to dive down to our plates if we don’t watch out. Kind of amusing and annoying the same time.

It was really great fun! I haven't been to one since I was a kid. It's hard not to lose focus when you get to the end, which has a little more variety and it's slightly experienced. The food at the café was excellent!

I recently visited this aquarium and it was an incredible experience! The variety of sea life on display was truly impressive, and I was in awe of the vibrant colors and intricate details of each exhibit. The aquarium is very well-maintained and clean, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They were happy to answer any questions I had and even provided interesting facts about the different species of fish and marine life. One of the highlights of my visit was the large tank with several different species of sharks swimming gracefully around. It was an incredible sight to behold, and I could have spent hours just watching them swim. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this aquarium. It's a great place to learn about sea life and appreciate the beauty of our oceans. I can't wait to go back and explore more of what this wonderful attraction has to offer.

Large aquarium in Lisbon is really fascinating with a big variety of sea life. A massive tank with various sharks, sting ray and other marine life swimming harmoniously in the enclosed area. This oceanic ecosystem is probably the most amazing; diverse in species, numbers and size that I have ever seen in an aquarium. We also found an outdoor rock and waterfall area for penguins, ottos and other species that thrive in sub zero temperatures and environments. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable as well which makes the experience more enjoyable.

A very special aquarium, with a critical message for everyone! A MUST SEE. The best aquarium I have ever been too. In my opinion this place is a real modern marvel. I absolutely loved this experience and the surrounding area. Highly recommend! Make sure you visit the first level to the right, as you walk up towards the main aquarium, it is half way up the walk way. You miss the message but if done right, you have to go back up to the walk way again. After, Look to your right as you walk up and you see the wave beneath and everyone underneath and the reflection of you. After you go back up the ramp after you have done the video, you will start to see answers to the problems as you reach the main aquarium. What an absolute masterpiece of an exhibition. Make sure you take time to reflect and see the wonders of life that we all take for GRANTED. It is supposed to inspire and educate you and it will leave you in AWE! Enjoy

A very large Oceanarium with a huge central ocean basin that is the main attraction. This can be viewed from different locations and from different levels. You practically walk all around it. There are also numerous other aquariums and areas to explore. Penguins, reef fish, a giant octopus and more. There is also a tropical forest. Children can have fun with a little diver. This is available as a figure or in digital form and playfully teaches waste prevention and explains how life in the ocean works. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant on the second floor. The ambience did not seem very inviting. However, there was a nicely designed bistro on the first floor after the store with delicious food and very friendly staff. We also enjoyed the additional exhibition "Forests under Water" on the upper floor near the entrance. The entrance fee for 2 adults and one child was just under 60€. Unfortunately, we could not buy the online ticket because the website did not allow correct information when entering the mobile phone number (too few characters possible in the input field, country code can not be entered). So we stood in line for about 15 minutes, so it went quite quickly at the ticket line. In total we were there almost 5h, a great day in a fascinating place, especially in bad weather.

My visit to Oceanário de Lisboa was truly remarkable. The size of the facility exceeded my expectations, and I found it easy to navigate. The diversity of fish, numbering in the thousands, left me in awe. Observing sharks and other exotic fish up close was an incredibly captivating experience. The architectural layout was exceptionally well-designed, creating a thoughtfully managed space. My time there was absolutely fantastic, providing me with an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Amazing. The big tank with multiple points of view is great to see all the fish. The side exhibits were also nice. There was also another beautiful sea-related installation near the entrance, showing lots of fish and vegetation. Wet came with two small kids and everyone really enjoyed the visit.

An incredible experience. The best aquarium I've been too. Everything is well maintained and clean. All of the wildlife appear well cared for. There are a number of unique ecosystems present and they include sea otters, puffins, penguins as well as fish and protists. TIP: Buy your tickets online via the Oceanario's website and you can skip the queue.

Highly recommend. Great value for €19 and well worth it for a full day out you can go on the cable cars nearby and get nice views of the river for an extra €6 euros . Great for families. You walk around the different geographic areas from above and then you get to see the lovely sea creatures below in their habitats. There was also a separate film shown in an imax type cinema. The sea dragons are especially beautiful. The sea otters and funny penguins were super cute . A great day out.

It was a great aquarium containing many species of marine life. A big tank is in the middle and a couple of smaller ones for various climates. Plus, there are penguins and sea otters there. A lot of info is available in English and is well written. The narrative of texts are great as they bring awareness about how humans are affecting oceans and marine life in a negative way. The path to explore the place was marked. The staff were nice and helpful. The downside was the entrance fee which was 25€ per person, which is very expensive in my opinion. There is a restaurant in there which serves mediocre food and is very expensive as well (~ 16€ per person). It offered very limited vegetarian options which was a surprise. Another downside was mass of visitors, which made it very hard to enjoy the calming scenery of beautiful fishes swimming in the aquarium. Honestly, there are much better places to visit in Lisbon considering mass of people here, the costs and overall return of what you pay for.

I loved everything about this place. The staff was fantastic, courteous, and were multilingual. The displays were huge. I mean huge. There's a giant tank in the middle that you can stop and see in-between seeing all of the other exhibits. And all of the exhibits were incredibly educational (great for kids), and fun to watch. None of them felt forced, it was just the animals in their "natural" environment. I strongly advise going here for a day trip. You can also bundle tickets for the cable cars in with your ticket to the aquarium, so you can quickly and easily get to the mall and restaurant strip ~1KM away

What a place! One of the best I've ever visited. The tanks look clean, fish healthy, and the information is pretty clear. We learned a lot! Gotta love the fish. The only thing I didn't like is that they sell fish in the cafeteria. I ain't no vegan, but I thought it was funny to eat fish in an aquarium. Like eating elephant meat at the zoo.

Buy the tickets online to avoid the queue. We've saved some 30 minutes standing by doing so. Certainly one of the top 3 best attractions of Lisbon! This place is amazing! This was my second visit after 6 years and it was still very impressive. Good to take the tour and go for a meal and drinks in one of the many restaurants nearby. Parking nearby is not too complicated and cost roughly €2 for a visit.

Amazing aquarium! One of the best I’ve been to hands down! We were in a rush due to a tour we had scheduled after so I regret not being able to take my time during the visit. You can tell they put in a lot of hours maintaining and keeping the aquarium clean, as you go around you’ll see divers scrubbing things and cleaning 👌🏽. Would come back again hands down

Things i spotted: 🐧 , 🦈 , Rays, 🐠 , 🦦 , 🐉 many more. There’s Télécabine 🚡 It’s not as huge as i would think… it’s fairly small with few sit down activities like documentaries. You can buy a ticket with a ride. You can also buy ticket online on their site. Adults 19€ or 18.50€ in person. Amazing check the videos and pics

Love this place. Make sure you allocate lots of time to actually enjoy it. Lots of people and tends to be quiet busy so be prepared for that. Average time spent here I’d say is 2-3h. They have a gift shop at the end (of course) and a nice little eatery place.

This aquarium has some pretty neat fish, sharks, starfish, and more. Overall, there were a lot of cool things to see here. However, we went during the happy hour, which gave us a big discount on ticket prices, and this ended up kind of tainting our experience here. It was so packed that you had to wait and then squeeze yourself through loads of people just to be able to see any of the exhibits. While we day pay only 7.50 per person, it may be worth it to pay the normal price for a less crowded experience.

One of the best experiences for a family! I really enjoyed myself and i highly recommend this for every tourist visiting Portugal. it gives you an under sea experience into the lives of this aquatic animals like sharks, penguins, otter and so many other animals you wouldn’t think exist. There is also a movie show after wards. There is also an aquarium about the forest. It’s close to the airport, so you can quickly pop in. They also have a place to keep your boxes. This place is also close to the cable car, so you get double experience.

It's a great place to clear your head, watch fish and other oceans creatures and relax. There's a lot to learn about different species and you can find some interesting ones in there too! Otters were the best thing to watch for me, as they were very cute and playful. Some of the animals there have a history of their finding, family trees - it's nice to learn all that. On top - it has a lot of things for kids to see and play with (interactive corners).

This place was amazing! They have a huge tank in the middle with all kinds of fishes and baby sharks and the aquarium was built around the tank so no matter where you go or which floor, you have a view of this tank. They have benches for you to sit and just take in the view, peace and quiet. I loved the penguin section and watching the otters swim. It is a must if you are visiting Lisbon.

Wonderful aquarium! Unlike those in the States, this aquarium was more focused on the beauty and balance of nature than on fun, something I didn't know I would love! What a fantastic oceanographic experience! I had no idea what to expect but I think it's definitely a really large tank with fish of all types and then much smaller tanks with other sea creatures and amphibious creatures. All in all we spent about 2 hours and had a pretty solid experience. The tank is so big that you may not be able to see all the varieties of fish from the same location. There were other informational stations and one little theatre which played a video about the importance of the ocean in the life on the plant. I highly recommend this place. Lots of interesting things in the gift shop as well. A pretty amazing place around.

This is the best aquarium we have ever visited. The main aquarium in the middle is astonishing. The place is built around this aquarium on two levels so we can see the tank from every angle and we can't stop being impressed. Others aquariums are also beautiful. There are outside parts where we can see the penguins 🐧 or sea otters 🦦. The exhibition Underwater Forest gave us very relaxing moment. Also the shop has so many nice and well designed things, though quite pricy. We spent 2.5 hours in the aquarium and really appreciated the experience.

Nice experience some of the view ports are quite small so can be a bit of a squeeze to see some of the 🐟. It is a large central tank with smaller areas with different themes around the outside. This is spread across 2 floors. Not the best aquarium I have been to not the worst either. We did get to see the feeding time of the sea otters deffo a highlight. It was very busy when we went due to inclement weather. I would almost say too busy would have been more enjoyable if it were just a little bit quieter.

They just allow people to buy tickets and get in without any supervision whatsoever, which causes floods of people trampling each other to be able to see any of the exhibits. This aligned with the low to none civility of other people makes it impossible for you to enjoy your time inside. Management should implement a maximum number of patrons allowed inside so everyone can enjoy their visit. I would rather wait 1h outside and enjoy my visit than to get in immediately and see almost nothing.

Supposed to be one of the best in the world. I have only been to the one in Boston before so not a big expert. However, it was very interesting to see the different marine life. One would expect if to be bit bigger but it’s still is fascinating nevertheless. Make sure to watch the video that explains a lot about the way they feed the fish and other fun facts. I would not recommend it a visit when It’s crowded because some areas inside get crowded quickly and it becomes annoying. I mean it was august so can’t really blame the aquarium. One advice is that we all tend to want to stop and look at the very first window showcase. It’s circular and you will get plenty of time to see the same fish in their majesty later. Enjoy

This was my third visit and it still enthralled me with the gigantic tank which l sat and watched for ages. The top floor has a most serene experience and l would have loved to stay longer. There are puffins, penguins, jellyfish, seahorses, all sorts of sharks, amphibians, different types of rays and so many other fish and my personal favourites were the Sun fish, cuttlefish and sea otters. Well worth a visit and excellent value for money. Make sure you look in every corner and wait a few moments you never know what you might find.

The main tank is huge and full of various kinds of fish, sharks and rays. Really enjoyed spending 2 hours walking around. Would highly recommend if you enjoy taking time to see the wonderful creatures of our oceans. One of the bigger I have ever visited.

The place is absolutely amazing and very good for learning as much as enjoying. the superstars of the place are the two magnificent giant artic otters. The location is fantastic and there are plenty of places where to eat either before of after visiting the aquarium

Unforgettable experience. There is equal amounts emphasis on the ocean life that they have and exhibit, as there is on the need to preserve them and the oceans. It is not just another aquarium and a must visit if you are in Lisbon.

(Translated by Google) The oceanarium is good. Its size is medium. I liked the penguins very much! On a rainy day, this is a great place to visit. I was also impressed by the Luna fish in the central aquarium. For lovers of underwater flora there is a whole green hall. About covid: There are sanitizers everywhere. At the entrance you can ask for a free new mask. Something was missing. Perhaps the price is too high. When paying, it seemed that the aquarium would be larger. Therefore, the score is 4.

We loved this oceanario, mostly due to the huge water tank in the center which allows you to look at various types of fish from different angles. Molamola, sharks, rays - we spent more than 3 hours there just watching underwater life. Additionally there are smaller tanks with fish, plants and mamals from different oceans. We loved otters of course, but we seriously liked everything else.

Amazing! We visited Lisbon Oceanarium just before Portugal went into lockdown. All in all it was a fantastic experience, in spite of the pandemic and the restrictions it imposed on the oceanarium. The whole building was signposted with reminders for social distancing, there were regular sanitisers to access and you were require to wear a mask throughout the entirety of your visit, all of which were carefully monitored and maintained by staff. Regarding the oceanarium itself, there was an array of plant and animal life to learn about, see and experience. The layout of the building was very well organised and accessible. The care and upkeep of the animals and facilities was exceptional, we saw divers cleaning the main tank with the sharks, rays and many other creatures, we saw staff attending to the areas in which the birds resided, and it was evident that all the animals were well looked after based on their condition, temperament and behaviour. I could not recommend the Oceanário more to visitors of Lisbon whether you travel alone, as a couple or as a family. You definitely get what you pay for and I would definitely visit again.

Can spend lots of time here, with two floors and lots of things to see. Otters, penguins, sharks, jellyfish, and much more. Plus everything is in English and the staff know English so it is a good pick for international tourists

Love this place. Spent hours here and could have stayed even longer. Great for kids and adults. Lots of amazing exhibits and displays, and plenty of interactive exhibits too. Recommend buying tickets online as the queue for tickets was around the block! I bought my ticket online and didn't have to queue.

Must see, not only with family. If you are a ocean/sea lover, if you are into this passion for marine life, you’ll discover in this location a tremendous respect for this. Don’t skip the introductory movie (One) from the beginning. It will set you up for the rest of the visit. It is a complete and spectacular aquarium where you can spend easily min 2-3h.

Well worth going to this aquarium! Our little ones loved it (we have a 14 months and a 2 1/2 years old) and so did we (parents). I strongly recommend visiting the oceonario in Lisbon. You can spend a few hours (3-4 max) and won't regret it.

It was an amazing experience there. I will suggest everyone to visit this place. Alot of things are there to experience. The beautiful big aquarium is full of different kind of fishes.

This is a fantastic aquarium! In addition to all the fish, we loved the puffins and penguins but the otters were out favorite. The giant sunfish is amazing. The amphibian exhibit was also very nice. And the cafeteria had great, fresh food.

If you visit Lisbon and love the sealife and the ocean . This place is a show stopper. Definitely worth a visit. You'll be able to see different species . Book online if you don't want to queue for long hours. It's good education for anyone.

I spent an hour there before my return flight as it was close to the airport. The aquarium is nice and well organised and maintained but not that huge or special as I expected after going through previous comments on here. Entrance fee was 19 euro but they gave me 15% off since I had bought Lisboa Card.

  • 1/5 Eslemac T. 2 years ago on Google
COVID antibodies included in the price! This place gets crowded, too massified to be safe in a pandemic safety distances are not respect because there's no staff to ensure safety. No ventilation, many people taking their masks off to eat or wearing it under their noses.

Definitely you should visit this place if you are in Lisboa. Take time only for you, just sit and don't run between places to check points on your agenda. Just lay down and be prepared to be amazed by the under ocean life.

Awesome experience! A temporary exhibit, aquarium with different habitats and huge central water tank and an insight movie make a great fun for about 3 hours (or more). The onsite restaurant offers nice refreshment at reasonable prices.

My children love the creatures of the seas and oceans and absolutely wanted to visit the aquarium, they were able to exercise their knowledge and were more than delighted. There is also an eco-citizen space to raise children's awareness of recycling, many explanations are given to us throughout. A real pleasure to sail in the middle of these magnificent sea creatures.

One of the best aquariums we've visited. Beautifully designed, diverse exhibits built around ecosystems. Interactive elements for the kids, including outdoor boardwalks with water features.

  • 4/5 Chris D. 2 years ago on Google
Visiting at noon on a Sunday was a mistake. There was a very large queue for tickets - it took an hour to get in. We regretted not buying tickets online first! Then the place was horribly packed full of people. Too many people I would say. It was hard to move around and see the exhibits and displays. It felt like you had to queue for each window. Saying that, when you get a decent view it's pretty spectacular. The aquarium is huge. Tip - everyone crowds around the first few windows. Just move past and find another window further in the aquarium. Still worth the trip though.

Best aquarium I was so far... It is huge. Different climate areas, wild bird which are flying close above your head, lovely otters and a good educational area for the small ones... Sea the future 😉

not bad but it’s nothing like Sea World in San Diego so, don’t expect much. the staff are very kind though, that’s a plus factor. if you’re living in Lisbon, you should support them. if you’re here for vacation with kids, this is a good place. check their website for discounted tickets.

Very cool oceanarium! It is kind of expensive, but today is the last day of -50% promotion if anyone managed to go ;-) Sharks are especially amazing. They also have a sweet pair of otters and some cute penguins. It seems to be all well done (not cruel) as the animals are rescued.

  • 5/5 Naomi D. 1 year ago on Google
Buy your ticket online and skip the queue! We bought the aquarium and cable car ticket for 23.50€ which is good value! Aquarium itself is good, plenty to see, well kept and very educational - without sounding like a nark though - I do wish there was an adults only time slot available to go? We went on a Monday morning. Some spaces can be a bit limited to view things, so you wait patiently for others to move on, but the little ones just seem to jump in wherever (understandably excited) just makes it hard if you want to take photos or have a few chill minutes looking at stuff. I really recommended a visit though! There's plenty of toilets on the way round, a restaurant at the end and souvenir shop.

  • 5/5 Daniel L. 1 year ago on Google
Sharks, fish of all colours, penguins and otters. What's not to love. Everything looks very well looked after. The layout was amazing and the big tank is very impressive. Helpful staff and the restaurant was alright too, we were in there long enough to be quite hungry. Lots of seats if you need a break, my knee was pretty bad but I managed fine. I'd recommend 3/4 hours for it and it's far out from most things. So either get there early and go do stuff after or get there a bit later and stay until close. We did it awkwardly in the middle of the day. But that's on us, and it was a day well spent.

A must watch place in Lisbon! Lots of species from the sea. Being a first timer to a sea life, I was amazed to see it. The care the staff has taken to maintain the place must be highly appreciated. There were couple of additional exhibitions, apart from the main one. Loved all of them. Enjoy some pics from there 😉

  • 5/5 Kelsey M. 1 year ago on Google
Easily the coolest aquarium I've ever seen! The central tank is just spectacular, and despite there being multiple spots to look at it from, they're always filled with people because it's impossible not to be a little mesmerized by it! Equally beautiful was the 'underwater forests' exhibit, filled with live plants and with a song that was specifically composed for it. Very cool.

  • 5/5 Lorena Ioana B. 1 year ago on Google
I had a very beautiful and pleasant experience visiting this place. There are a lot of aquariums to see and the largest one from the middle is the most spectacular. Clean and nicely organized, accompanied by beautiful background music. I highly recommend to also go and visit the ONE exhibition, to watch the "the Ocean as you never felt it" movie there. It's an experience that you should not miss. :)

Excellent centre full.of great interest and highly popular. We've been to several when the kids were young but it was nice to not have the constant worry of trying to keep an eye on them while we enjoyed the exhibition.

Great place to visit with kids. The aquarium is home to a wide variety of aquatic creatures from all over the world, including colorful fish, playful sea otters, and awe-inspiring sharks. The exhibits are well-designed and informative, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the diverse ecosystems that exist beneath the surface of the world's oceans. The highlight of the aquarium is the central tank, which is home to an impressive collection of marine life, including a school of graceful rays and a massive sunfish. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making for a great overall experience. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the oceanarium.

This is one of the best sea life centres I have ever visited and very good value for money. I was blown away by here and cannot believe we only chose to do to kill time for a late night flight. You must put this on your list to visit when in Lisbon. Incredible, ha e not stopped talking about it and the underwater forest is breathtakingly beautiful

  • 5/5 Baron von T. 8 months ago on Google
Beautiful aquarium, very modern and thoughtful expedition with a lot of emphasis on teaching about sustainability and the importance of the ocean. Besides the numerous species in the giant main tank. They also have penguins and extremely adorable otters and even several species on the lower level I have never seen before. It was one of the best experiences in Lissabon!

  • 5/5 Tanis S. 8 months ago on Google
Loved it. It's a wonderful aquarium with a huge central tank and lots of sea creatures to see and really good AC as a bonus. The perfect escape for those hot days. We bought our tickets in advance from their website and skipped the lineup at the ticket office.

Great aquarium, very interesting exhibits. They have a lot more than the average aquarium would, it's definitely worth the price. Would recommend buying tickets in advance if you can.

  • 5/5 Rory P. 8 months ago on Google
Honestly, one of the most impressive aquariums I've visited in the world. The central tank is incredible and just watching the movement through the water is akin to the feeling of scuba diving. Most impressed that the mission of conservation carries through to the gift shop as none of the souvenirs and toys are low quality plastic junk.

A beautiful aquarium in a wonderful setting. There are interesting displays, exhibitions and of course, animals, that make this an informative and entertaining visit for all the family. I loved the 'Underwater Forest' exhibition, which was so still and calm. I think that the sea otters steal the show, though...

  • 5/5 Maya H. 6 months ago on Google
I wasn’t planning on visiting the aquarium because I have seen plenty of aquariums already and it gets repetitive at one point, but my last day at Lisbon was scheduled for free-styling and it was raining in the morning so I thought I could spent couple of hours indoors and see some sharks. It was quite nice, the main aquarium in the middle is breathtaking. Lots of sharks swimming about. I only have videos of the sharks though which apparently I can’t upload. Anyway, great experience for rainy day

  • 5/5 Rizwan A. 6 months ago on Google
The venue is laid out in two separate buildings, one for their cafe, admissions, classrooms and gift shop- and another that is positioned over the water that contains their exhibits. Their main exhibit sits in the center and you have multiple viewing windows as your make your way around the pathway. A great visit but nothing special if you have visited some other aquariums.

  • 4/5 Sarah B. 5 months ago on Google
This aquarium is good, and it certainly helped us escape the wind and rain on the day we went. The design is unique and very straightforward to follow the path around. We also ate at the cafe upstairs which had a good selection of food at a reasonable price. The only problem was that it felt like everyone in Lisbon had the same idea. While the aquarium is spacious, there were too many people, making it difficult to get a good view of the animals and fish. We also had to ask to share a table in the cafe due to the amount of people trying to eat at the same time. All in all, it was nice to see it, but I don't think it was worth the 50€ it cost to get in.

  • 5/5 Denis Colli S. 5 months ago on Google

Amazing experience all around, the best aquarium I have ever been to! The views are perfect. The animals get really close to you, and you get to take some amazing pictures and videos. Ticket prices are pretty decent also. Make sure to buy tickets online and avoid the line at the ticket booth!

Recommended for families with little children, also good for couple's date. Animals are well kept, but there are few attractions in the ocenarium. 🦦🐠🦈 Try it out when the weather is rainy. (Pro tip: get your tickets in advance on Get your Guide app)

Fantastic place. We were there third time in past 10 years. Tickets are pricey but worth it. The only negative thyI could say is that place is really overcrowded. To many people there at once. You have to queue to take free picture. Who knows it might be only certain hours. Any way I strongly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

  • 5/5 Jasmine F. 4 months ago on Google
Beautiful aquarium with well kept exhibits. We went there when we suddenly had several hours to kill at the airport and did not buy tickets in advance. There was plenty to see in the roughly 2 hours we spent there, which we did at a leisurely pace. The non-permanent exhibit is gorgeous. I do wish we had had time to just sit there for awhile and relax. There was also a cute gift shop.

  • 5/5 Valerie S. 4 months ago on Google
Don't miss this world class aquarium if you visit Lisbon. Everything about this superb place is jaw dropping, from the massive main tank, which can be viewed from numerous angles to the penguins sitting nonchalantly on the edge of their open pool (no glass barriers) at chest level with you and just a few inches away. It's beautifully maintained and stunningly gorgeous. November is a great time to visit...no crowds! A must see!

Espectacular aquarium for both kids and adults. Skip the queue purchasing the tickets in advance and got inside in 1 minute. The visit with take 90 minutes ton2 hours. And there great food in the coffee. Super recommended!!

  • 5/5 Reece S. 4 months ago on Google
Easily one of the best aquariums I've been to. The design and layout of the place is very well thought-out, with the central 'main' tank being visible from a total of 8 main viewing windows across two floors and several smaller windows; the benefit of this is that you don't get the usual crowding of the main exhibits and when we visited on a Monday afternoon we were able to take our time in taking in the incredible atmosphere of the underwater landscape. It's amazing how close you can get to the stars of the show unlike other aquariums. The building is divided up into quarters, each relating to a different part of the world. There were some very surprising exhibits like the sea otters and penguins. I liked the inclusion of seabirds too. Finally, I loved the message of the aquarium, was particularly surprised to hear Carl Sagan's pale blue dot monologue in one of the rooms, very much sums up the message they want to leave you with. A must-visit place if you enjoy aquariums.

Cane to visit during our first trip to Lisbon, totally worth it. A little out of the way from the city but easy to get to. A great idea for a date day. Would recommend going in the evening (around 4 or 5pm) when it’s less crowded. The underwater forest is a must see

  • 5/5 Stuart B. 2 months ago on Google New
Great value! I have seen the aquarium’s in NYC, Baltimore, Atlanta, and others! This place definitely stands out amongst them as one of the best. Giant tank with multiple viewing points to ensure that you have a viewing experience of every fish. The exhibits were very well maintained and very well done. I highly recommend checking this out with your family if you are in town! It was incredible!

  • 3/5 Dirk 2 months ago on Google New
The aquarium itself is one of the best in Europe. Nice layout, many species, and otters are a huge plus in my book. However, crowd management is ridiculous. I pre booked my ticket online and I still had to wait in line for 30 minutes. The line to buy tickets on site was shorter. Why do they even offer time slots? Also, the place was totally over crowded. Other aquariums manage to restrict the number of visitors to a reasonable number.

  • 4/5 Brandon L. 2 months ago on Google New
This is the review to read! The Underwater Forest is absolutely stunning. The aquarium itself is typical of every other aquarium you will go to. Same sharks, fish, rays, etc… that you will see at every other aquarium. The puffins, sea otters, and penguins is the main highlight. The ONE show is cool. If you’re in Lisbon on a rainy day, definitely go here. Super fun.

Oceanarium was really good! They have one massive circular section which has four of its own areas. On the outer circular you see penguins, puffins. There’s also areas for smaller creatures like jellyfish, smaller fish, eels. Loved the sharks and guitar fish!
