😀 attention! if you want to experience firsthand the experience of getting to the heart of the film "The Goonies", more precisely in the Il Faro restaurant, book! Externally the structure and the garden are poorly maintained but equipped with free parking.!!!! Upon entering you can see that the first impression does not lie: dilapidated structure: the plaster is peeling and the whitewashing is not recent... you stay struck by a pleasant smell...the floor and the staircase are covered with carpet of a color that is no longer definable. Skirts, corners and ceilings host dust, dead insects and cobwebs. The room (we booked a triple) had not been aired for a long time. The beds with "English" sheets (with fitted sheet and duvet) had not seen a wash for a long time... the mattress with a hole and the now empty down pillows did not have clean pillowcases. The bathroom, small but with a shower, was in questionable hygienic conditions: the sink had dried toothpaste stains, the toilet was not very clean... I proceeded with Amuchina... the towels were probably part of the wedding trousseau of the mother of the brothers gang ( to quote the film)... The small breakfast, rather unpleasant, served with dirty crockery. The kitchen, which can be glimpsed from the dining room, still had unwashed crockery and pots, I hope from dinner, the furnishings and floors 🤔... The staff, despite everything, were kind even if rather..."original"... Do you remember the band of brothers? Same look😂😂😂 It was a great experience that I recommend only to experienced people with a great spirit of adaptation... the price? although not too high, still very high for what is offered 😘. Happy adventure!

It's crap. Even though I had paid I didn't have the courage to sleep. I found another hotel and left. When I asked for my money back the owner pretended to be an employee. Do you see the bed on the right? I didn't lie down. It was already like this! The dirty shower, the toilet with stains on the seat! Never seen anything like it. If it was in Italy I would have called NAS.

(Translated by Google) I live near this "hotel" and every time I walk past I wonder how it can even be called a "hotel". It appears truly decadent, with broken and unequal windows, in a state of abandonment, with plastics everywhere, and contrasts sharply with the residential area of villas and gardens in which it is located. I reserve the right to publish real photos. UPDATE May 2021. Structure dismantled!!!!!! AGGIORNAMENTO maggio 2021. Struttura smantellata!!!!!!

Fundamental premise: Hotel Villa Marita is a 2-star hotel so I evaluate it considering that it is a 2-star not a superior category hotel. The hotel is located in a residential area in the upper part of the city of Lugano, just a few minutes from the airport. It has 60s decor, it doesn't have many rooms, it seems like a maximum of 24 to me, the owner, a cross between Alex Drastico and one of the DikDiks, is very courteous and helpful. The room I had, no. 18, was spacious, furnished with 60s furniture, a hallway, a normal-sized bathroom with a built-in shower, a bedroom with a small balcony and a view of the mountains. It was a clean, tidy room, obviously without a minibar and a small television. I was in Lugano alone for work so the bed was single. The breakfast was international (sweet/savoury) with fresh bread and croissants that were decidedly good and richly filled (better than others eaten in higher-end hotels). I was happy with it, it's cheap, there's room to park so as I just need a clean place to sleep comfortably, take a shower and have an honest breakfast to face the day at work, I feel fully satisfied. It delivers what it says. I was forgetting, free wi fi is open throughout the entire hotel.

Adventure hotel on a different level. Time seems to have stood still here, the hotel was certainly nicer, but it wasn't maintained. In the bathroom it was an unparalleled sprinkler experience as the faucet dripped everywhere. There was also mold there. There were also bread crumbs in the bedside drawer and hair in the bathroom. In the entrance and in the room there was a very special, old-fashioned, dilapidated smell. The beds were somewhat okay, but some of them squeaked with every movement. All in all, a very special experience that is second to none.

The Hotel could be cleaner and building is very tired. Parking is free and it’s ok for a one night stop but not any longer

The hotel is very old and the furniture is largely outdated, but given the price these defects can easily be overcome. Where it gets stuck is in terms of cleanliness. One of our rooms was in an unacceptable state: the dust hadn't been cleaned for ages and there were even insects (strongly resembling cockroaches) in the bathroom! The other rooms did not even reach a standard level of cleanliness: between the bathroom glasses which were not cleaned, a linen which should not have been washed and not to mention the holey carpet, we did not We were still not satisfied. In addition, the "ticino ticket" was not offered to us even though it was the case in another hotel. It's a shame, because the place is full of potential and the view is very beautiful. However, a low price does not justify poor hygiene!
