This hotel was just perfect. Location could not be better, literally step out of the train station and into the entrance of the hotel. No need to drag cases round all day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. The room was spectacular, overlooking the Festival Village and all the sites you could possibly want. The castle was just within site from the huge french doors of the room. Really airy and light. I have never slept so well in a hotel bed, went out like a light until the next morning. Breakfast was incredible. I chose the full Scottish, without haggis as was not feeling brave enough, while my guest enjoyed the full vegetarian. Will definitely stay here on future visits to Edinburgh. Also recommend Junipers Bar, fabulous views of Princes Street. Just ticks every box. :)

Nice building, great location just across the central train station and close to the royal mile. Once we got to the reception, they said that they didn't have the room that we booked and that they would give us a better one. Checking the website later, we realised that this was not the case... The room was ok, it was clean with a nice bed, the bathroom not too functional (every time we showered the water went all over the floor, the tap covered only the corner of the sink and no toilet brush-although that might be a UK thing) and the windows had to remain closed, in order not to have the odor of the restaurants below coming into the room. The great disappointment must have been the breakfast. The breakfast room and the view were really beautiful, the breakfast just adequate, but some of the staff weren't helpful at all. They were hard to talk to and they didn't inform us about the menu (we later found out that you could choose from one of the two lists and they would charge us if we selected items from both-although that didn't happen at the end). Once we had coffee and juice spilled on our table, due to a defective table leg, and the waitress just gave us a towel to clean it ourselves. She didn't even offer to change our table, despite the room being half empty. Not to mention that she forgot to give the order to the chefs and we waited 50 minutes for nothing. Not a hotel we would choose again.

Wow! This place was as quaint and charming as the entire city of Edinburgh but with modernized, large, clean, beautifully appointed rooms. It's right across the street from Waverly Station, the main train station. Central to everything you must see in this medieval town. And the bar and restaurant are great, many outside customers frequent them and don't even stay at the hotel. But also get out around the corner on St. Andrew's Square and try Dishoom, a highly rated, delicious, and fun Indian restaurant. Only one small elevator, but we like to get our stairs on and increase our daily step count. The historical Scottish photos are fun to admire on our room, the dining room, and up and down the stairs. You can see famous Scottish authors and artists and read quotes by them. Loved this hotel. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Just finished our stay at hotel indigo! It was amazing all the staff were really nice! The breakfast was brilliant and the restaurant was amazing! The food was cooked perfectly and to a very high quality. Nothing was to much for the staff and they made sure your stay was incredible. The house keeping staff were amazing our room was cleaned to the best standard every day and it was always so nice to come back to after walking round the city all day. The location of the hotel is great and in the middle of everything and everywhere is walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you :)

Perfect location for our long weekend. Straight across the road from Waverley train station. Attentive, friendly staff. Room was beautifully decorated. Lovely large bathroom with double shower and separate bath. Great food at restaurant. Very clean throughout the hotel. Generous supply of tea, coffee, water, shortbread and crisps in the room too, which was replenished every day. Would definitely return again. Full marks!

Very classy little hotel, right in the middle of Edinburgh. Across the street from the Waverly train station, this hotel is very central to old town. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The room we had was very impressive with a phenomenal view of the city, a bed that was extremely comfortable, and decorations that were unique and stylish. My only complaint is that we requested a late checkout upon arrival, and we were called at the normal checkout time inquiring as to why our room wasn't vacant, but they were quick to remedy the situation without incident. I would gladly stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Just over the road from the train station, warm and welcoming staff, absolutely delicious food for breakfast and dinner, the best we've had in a hotel. The rooms were perfect, cosy and warm. Staff fantastic and friendly. We will definitely be back. Worth every penny and it really made our stay in Edinburgh perfect.

Most likely the best location in Edinburgh. From the moment we arrived the staff was delightful. Got checked in, got done great recommendations for the area. Our room was amazing with views of the entire area. Think my first thought was it looks fake. All the employees treated us great. The location made it amazing, was able to walk everywhere we needed to go, got the boosters to prove it. If you’re coming to Edinburgh this hotel is worth every penny, get the city view room, you won’t be disappointed. We had room 403. Also it was my girlfriend’s birthday and they sent up a great plate of chocolate.

Lovely hotel. We booked a room with a view of the castle and princes street. It was great. Bed should be king size but more a double. Would be good to have 2 seats in the room. Overall loved it and would book again

Absolutely loved this hotel! Stayed in a King Deluxe and got a great view of Princes Street, the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Waverley Station, and more. It is a little loud but that is to be expected with all movement in this area. Super easy to get to the train station and to all the major sites. Staff was friendly and the accommodations were so cute. Felt very safe!

Lovely hotel with lovely people🥰 we arrived early and the front desk clerk, Elena, held onto our luggage and graciously called us as soon as our room was available. Great customer service. The room was a bit small (by US standards) but it was very modern and well appointed. They had the most luxurious towels I've ever used. My only regret is I lacked room in my suitcase to steal one...lol

This hotel is amazing. The rooms are uniquely decorated. The staff has been friendly and accommodating. ADD THE BREAKFAST to your hotel booking. The food is delicious. I had the full Scottish breakfast which was so good. The coffee comes as a French press. Buffet style is also available if you’re in a rush. The rooms have ac/heat. Rainfall shower was also a nice touch. If I had any complaints. There’s an annoying pigeon which starts making noise outside my room…. Not sure the hotel can help that. Book in advance and get the best rate. The hotel is PERFECTLY located for tourist. Walking distance to the train station, the bus station, and all the shopping areas. If you can, ask for a Princess Street view and you will have a breathtaking view every morning of the gardens and potentially Edinburgh Castle.

Location was perfect for strolling through the Christmas Market across the street. Lobby is on the second floor and directions were not clear. The hostess seemed annoyed and short with us. Room was a long walk with stairs. No one offered assistance with luggage. Room was very small and ice cold. Bed was wonderful and once the room warmed up, we did sleep soundly. Breakfast was included. Next time, I’ll likely make a different choice for the money spent.

Fantastic hotel, located within a couple of minutes walk from Waverley Station. Large rooms, very comfortable with wonderful views across the city. Although situated right in the city centre, the rooms were very quiet and we had a lovely peaceful night. Very easy walking distance to all the delights that Edinburgh offers. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Plenty of choice for breakfast and the restaurant meal we had was absolutely delicious. Prices seem very reasonable and we will certainly stay there again on our next visit. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel Great breakfast Good location Rooms are tiny we had an upgraded queen room to the front paid £400 per night. We could have stated 2 mins down road at Premier Inn same view but half the price. Have no problem paying extra money for something above and beyond but this just didn't tick those boxes especially for value for money

Amazing hotel for visiting Edinburgh, in the perfect position between the old and new towns... Very easy to get to by Tram, Train or bus, car parking is about a 10 min walk.. The hotel restaurant and bar is superb, but it is also surrounded by excellent restaurants within a few moments walk. The staff are professional, polite and great fun. The room was spotless. Highly recommended, so much so, we booked another stay here in December before we checked out!

Well situated, nearly opposite the entrance to Waverley Station we enjoyed our stay, the staff were pleasant and helpful, food in the restaurant was good though expensive. Room very clean and comfortable (only downside was we were at the rear looking out at surrounding walls) and quiet for a big hotel. Would stay there again.

Gem of a Hotel in Edinburg. It’s excellent in every aspect. Location, cleanliness, staff and food. We had 3 rooms booked for 3 days. It’s opposite to the main railway station and very easy to commute. All the bus stops and markets are very nearby. Loved the hotel. Surely come back to stay here.

This was my favorite hotel I stayed at in Edinburgh out of three. The location was great, the room and bathroom were large. The view from the room was wonderful and it had a nice size shower. The décor was absolutely brilliant and the lay out of the hotel was very charming. Plenty of room for all of my luggage. Comfortable bed. Kind staff and plenty of places to sit and grab a drink. Very safe and very clean.

Staff are five star - nothing is too much trouble, so friendly and helpful. Room on 5th floor in the attic is quite dark, small and only accessible by a narrow stair case. The bed was huge and very comfortable, however, shower pressure was very weak. Room was tastefully decorated - although not finished to a high standard (lots of marks and stains). Good range of complimentary snacks and drinks, but nowhere to hang coats or clothing. Mixed bag, but location, amazing staff and great bed outweighed niggles.

We stayed here for a weekend and it a lovely hotel, when we first arrived we was greeted by a very nice lady unfortunately on the name badge she had Trainee so didn't know her name. So we left the bags as it was really early then went out when we did go back our bags was in the room waiting for us. We also had contact with Maria at reception she was really friendly and polite to. We also had breakfast there both mornings on the Saturday it was lovely the breakfast staff was polite and friendly, unfortunately on the Sunday morning it wasn't the same with the service we sat at the table and we had a dirty cup and the staff was that friendly. But apart from that one time all the staff was great and very welcoming. But do recommend if you are staying over the weekend and want drinks before going out you book in advance. We didn't have a evening meal there.
