One of my favorite lunch spots in Limerick. The view of the river Shannon and the castle while sitting outside on a nice day cannot be beat. They pour an excellent pint of Guinness and have very tasty food. I’d highly recommend the fish and chips!

I was at Curragower yesterday and was extremely disappointed. I made the reservation the day before for Sunday at 20:45. We were very well received by the staff, with the table as reserved. We ordered starters and drinks. Beatifull view of the river and the castle. We received the starters and the drinks, everything exceptional. When we went to order the main courses at approximately 9:15 pm, the waitress told us that the kitchen was closed. How is this possible? NOBODY warned us that the kitchen would close so early. They said absolutely nothing. We had to finish dinner elsewhere. Could you believe it? We left hungry and absolutely disappointed. Did they look at us and think we were going to order just one starter? Could it be that they forgot that we arrived at 8:45 pm (reservation time) and there was no time for dinner in 15 minutes? The food is so god that I we are tempted to come back, but don't feel like we should.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very good. Staff is efficient. The outdoor terrace has amazing views over the castle. Do take care cause the portions are huge!!

Amazing spot! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere inside! The food here is extremely delicious. I highly recommend getting the wings. Enormous portion that will definitely leave you beyond satisfied! Great prices as well. Pairs greatly with a pint! Only problem is parking might be difficult.

Came in for a solo lunch and was greeted so warmly by all staff. My server recommended the rhubarb sour and it’s probably one of the most balanced and tastiest cocktails I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t realize their drinks were THAT level, but pleasantly surprised. I had the fish and chips for a late lunch. It was a pretty large portion. The fish is perfectly battered and cooked. I usually shy away from fried stuff but this wasn’t overly greasy. The chips are also super thick and filing. I heard lovely things about the chowder, but I’ll save that for my next visit. I really enjoyed the view of King John’s Castle from the outdoor seating area. This place is a MUST if you’re in the area.

Sunday stroll with old and young, some younger members enjoying seats with a view. Question asked what would you like? Before you ask from the food menu ?!mussels, chowder, 🍔, calamari and sides that was only the under 12's and they all approved of their choices. Best of luck in 2022

Wonderful : my meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The onion rings were tasty and cridpy. My sticky toffee pudding was extremely moist and scrumptious : the only flaw (in my opinion) was the cinnamon! Staff was friendly and helpful!

The best seafood chowder I’ve had in limerick yet… very creamy and tasty. My friends were very satisfied with those chicken waffles, chicken box, and fish n chips. We’ve had great time there. I recently tried their fix box and was also really nice… loads of chips with fried hake, scampi and calamari. They also got a nice selection of non-alcoholic mocktails.

What an amazing place. The staff are incredible .. more than helpful and just lovely. The food is an experience.. incredible.. so tasty and big portions. The ambiance, atmosphere, view, location is just perfect. Will definitely be going back ❤

Definitely worth a visit even if they habe to close at 8. Fantastic food we had deadly chicken wings and cocktails.

The location is very beautiful, prefer outdoor sitting if weather is nice. Food delivery was a little slow but maybe that’s because I ordered lamb. Service was okay, place was not super crowded during lunch time. I had prawn tacos, soup and lamb. Would probably go again if in Limerick. Can be very good for a date if weather is ripe for outdoor sitting.

THE BEST clam chowder I have ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was also amazing. The staff was excellent and didn't rush us out when we were finished eating.

Really good food, nice atmosphere and service. Portions are generous and a bargain. The Guinness is also lovely! The fish tacos (pictured) were beautiful. Heartily recommended, will return.

I wouldn’t say I loved the place. I felt it’s a bit on the expensive side and the food is not that great either. We had a cake from a bakery for a friend but they didn’t allow us to cut it in as it would “contaminate” their place. I found this a bit absurd. Wouldn’t go there again.

Very well located restaurant. You can enjoy the view of King John's castle from the patio. The food is well done and fresh. Their service fantastic. Polite and fast. Recommend.

The outdoor seating area is absolutely beautiful and the food is incredible. Would happily eat there every night. Went 3 times on our 4 day stay in limerick, both lunch and dinner 😍

Lovely food. Had a wonderful dinner there. We had soup for starter, the classic chicken wings, fried squids, steak, and a hamburger and chips for the child. These are super freshly made and absolutely delicious! The service was great! Strongly recommend!

Gorgeous selection of tasty seafood all served with wonderfully friendly and efficient service. Dessert with Baileys and salt caramel ice cream was icing on the cake 👌💕

It’s more than food and great vibes..it’s atmosphere, people, excellent service, stunning views and really awesome food!! Be sure to ask your waiter what are their day offerings for mains and desserts- you might be surprised. Kid-friendly. We loved the place.

Hands down some of the best food we have had since being in Ireland, exciting and fresh twists on bistro classics, I had the beef box, which was slowed cooked beef blade over fries topped with lashings of a rich pepper sauce, spring and crispy onions. Wife had black sesame calamari, and it was a mountain and the lime mayonnaise was sublime. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while! Staff are super friendly, could have been a tad quicker with bringing orders or following up.

Great location with great views. Food OK but missing some nice touches; beef croquettes a bit bland and not a bit of salad to accompany them. Prawns were nice but bread that came with them was soggy and almost raw; we were charged an extra e2.20 for a toasted piece of bread! Overall a nice evening but could have been a lot better.

Nice meals and service. They have a lot of chicken dishes and they are really good. Sea food is tasty also. Absolutely recommended. Tarrace has good view of the castle and river and in this same time you are IRR (irishrainresist) :)

Highly recommended! Great food and generous portions. The seafood chowder was a little bit on the salty side but full of seafood. The lovely manager still gave us a complimentary umbrella as it was raining out. Definitely going back. Thank you!

Food was fine though my partners veg was cold. Prices are expensive. I gave €9 for the first time in my life for a dessert!!!! This is a pub not a restaurant. Better value elsewhere I'd imagine.

I loved our experience here ,food was delicious, a quirky menu for a beautifully located restaurant. Can't wait to try everything on the menu. I was worried about the menu ,I thought it was all fish . I've tried the chicken and waffles with the pineapple chilli sauce sauce ,danced on the taste buds . The tender pulled beef box was so melt in the mouth delicious.

Went to curragower for an office dinner. It was a set menu. But loved the calamari rings as starter. Amazing view of river Shannon from upstairs. Definitely recommend and planning to visit again to try the pork belly.

Had a late lunch with the sister and thoroughly enjoyed it!! The wings I ordered got spicier as I ate then and I ended up with a doggy bag... Emeara was fantastic except for her choice of beer... Really, ¿¡una cervesa mexicana en Irlanda!? She was saved by her manager who poured me a Treaty City Invasion IPA... DELICIOUS! I guess I need to qualify "whatever you choose" next time! 😁😇

Sometimes you dream of a menu that has all your favourite food. This place came pretty close. Cauliflower wings, goats cheese risotto balls and fish tacos. Holy moly, good eating. Next time we will get the steak box. Good friendly service too.

Wow! What food, what Guinness! And a lovely view of the Shannon river. Service very polite and just the right amount of attentiveness. I had the steak platter, beautifully cooked and presented. I was a guest, my Limerick family have this as their "go to" place for special occasions and entertaining visitors. Go visit, enjoy, thank me later.

Tried pork belly, calamari and seafood chowder - highly recommend all 3. Great service and a really nice atmosphere! Hands down the best place I've been too in Ireland.

Real nice place, lovely setting out on the terrace especially in the evening. Chicken wings were the best I've ever had and can't wait to go again. Service a bit sloppy alright with drinks taking ages to come but maybe it was a bit busy, would have been 5 stars otherwise.

Im from the USA of Cheyenne, Wyoming. I was traveling through Limerick back in 2015. I loved the place a lot. I enjoyed the food, the people, and a The Real Guiness beer. I loved it all. And I love Ireland so much. I wonder why my great ancestors left such a beautiful country, with great people, great food, beer, and whiskey.
