Great shows but seats are highly uncomfortable, I have sat in more comfortable budget airline seats. I got a cramp in my hamstring 3 times from sitting in an awkward position. The 6 foot plus guys in the vicinity almost looked like they were folded up and even the slim girl sitting next to me had to sit on an angle More toilet and bar facilities would be great too, it's very difficult to get in during a short intermission so show was spoiled a little by people coming and going constantly to try and beat the rush.

The legendary Cork John Spillane playing his first live event in the Opera House Cork his first time playing with a live concert orchestra. A very talented musician that plays a wide genre of music, a Cork native with a gift for story telling in his music in both English and Irish. The atmosphere on the night was very relaxing and captivating and also intimate in such a large venue. A fantastic show and performance on the night, with hopefully more of these to be played with the professional Orchestra. Well done. A great venue with great views of the stage no matter where you are seated.

Saw an amazing Van Morrison concert here, great venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Concession prices were very reasonable.

Omg...staff were brilliant. I rang for a last minute ticket as I couldn't seem to purchase online, the lady on the phone secured me a last minute, best seat. I collected it at the box office, not a bother, so easy. Fantastic the lady in the box office told me without having to ask the direction's to my seat. What a wonderful evening I was blown away by Sally Morgan💯 Fantastic night at the opera😉

Was passing the door of Cork Opera House and noticed there was an exhibition called Standing By from Miriam Hurley. What a lovely surprise to see it.

Overall a fine venue. Was here last week during the jazz and had a poor experience. They only had 4/5 staff (Tekken Security) to check tickets on the way in so this resulted in a large queue that went all the way around the building as far as Paul Street. I would have left the queue and gone somewhere else if i wasn't after already spending 30 euros on the ticket a month ago. They should have put on more staff as they clearly knew how many people had bought tickets, poor management. However, I attended another gig here last weekend and I must say, the venue redeemed itself somewhat. We saw Sinnerboy who were phenominal and there was much less queueing and much more craic. Glad I decided to give the opera house a second chance. Will be back again once there's a better managing of larger events.

Saw the Swan lake. Very nice venue, not too big, so good view of the stage.

Beautiful building right in the centre of town with great sight lines to the stage. At no point did we have trouble seeing the stage despite being short and it being a standing room only gig. Mad queues for the bar that didn't clear fast enough, however, but we stocked up beforehand so that didn't matter.

Great venue, great night out always had here. Seats are pretty good, and general organisation is fairly good as well. The shop could be done a bit better, with more range and offering, but on the whole the venue is quite good 👍

Great place, great show Ben Portsmouth. Couldn't get anyone better to do Elvis. His voice, singing and action's were perfect. Best I've ever seen. I've been to Graceland twice now.

Only one bar counter opened which meant long queues at the other. Service was good though. My friend didn't like her Merlot. Great show, 12 Angry Men. Intense but excellent.

We go to the Christmas Panto for the last 15 years I would think and it gets better and better each year. The production was the best this year, with the dancing and singing excellent. Jack and the beanstalk was visually 1st class with the tears of laughter as usual. Great for the health.

Wonderful venue for live bands. Good sound system. Capacity 850 seating or around 1300 standing with stall seating removed. Great stage crew. Load in off busy road not ideal.

Have been here a number of times. Really well organised and comfortable. For the last year or so you are no longer allowed bring alcohol into the auditorium. Always a mad dash to the bar at the interval with big queues but the bar staff handle it it well. Other than that a thoroughly enjoyable experience no matter what you are watching.

Excellent venue for concerts and plays. Really enjoy it any time I visit and the bar staff and all others are very friendly. David Gray was excellent and so was David Kitt as support.

Epic acoustics in here! Comfy seats, good standing area for concerts, and all seats feel close enough to where you are live in the action. There is also a full bar for breaks.

Went to The Mousetrap, a play by Agatha Christie. The play was very enjoyable, and funnier than I expected, whilst also being very emotional in places. The Opera House was very comfortable, and we had a good view throughout.

Went to Agatha Christie's 'Mousetrap' 70th anniversary show last night. The show was fantastic but I must say they have changed the seats in the Opera House and they are very uncomfortable. They seemed to be a cheap sponge covered in a velvet type of material. I had a crick in my neck from the angle of the seat. I thought it was just me but my companion had the same issue.

As regular patrons of the Cork Opera House we usually sit downstairs and always find it very comfortable however we sat in the dress circle for Belinda Carlisle and I would never again sit there, our seats were so cramped and we couldn't feel the air con was on,we were physically uncomfortable and my husband had to stand by the door for a break from the cramped conditions. The concert itself was excellent, sound was spot on as per usual in Cork Opera House. If in future I couldn't secure tickets for downstairs I wouldn't sit in dress circle.

Got a drink from the bar about 5 minutes before show started. Was on my way in to take my seat and was stopped and told no drinks allowed in the auditorium. I had just paid €15 for drinks. What was I supposed to do with them? I think the bar should close at least 15 minutes before show starts. Other then that, great night. Really enjoyed the trip down memory lane with Leo Sayer. 🎶🎶

Attended a Ukrainian fundraiser concert, it raised the roof! Fabulous acts like the refugee band Citadel, Ukrainian Alena, cork bands- the Whitehorse Guitar Club, Ruby Horse, and Karen Underwood, the latter two supported by local choirs! It was all wonderful, uplifting, and energising. We left with raised spirits and new songs humming in our heads.💙💛 Well done to all the organisers. Musicians and venue etc donated so all funds went to the Red Cross, in excess of 30,000euro raised 👍

Went for a Christmas Panto. Lovely authentic theater, but rather dated. Seats and floors a little rough. Overall, great experience though. See a Panto if you can!

So good to see everyone enjoying a night out. Had an issue with my tickets. Sent in an email into the box office and they had me sorted by the time I arrived to watch the show. Great place to relax and share some fun.

The Opera house in Cork is a great venue. It is small and quite intimate. It encourages the performers to really engage with the audience. The bar is always a great place to get a feel for the atmosphere before any show. The ushers and staff are always friendly but very will come down if people are breaking the rules so beware!
