A great typical Irish pub atmosphere! It just feels right to sit there and have a great pint of Guinness with friends. They served us the best Fish and Chips I had so far in the British Isles. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

The creme brulee was okay but I would recommend the chocolate fondant dessert as the reviews from my companions were rave over it. The garlic cream mussles and oysters on the half shell were fantastic. There was enough mussles to have served at least two to three people

The Locke Bar was a highlight in Limerick Ireland. What great local energy in this place. It was extra exciting as Ireland was in rugby world championship on tv, before the band hit the stage. Great appetizers and drinks. We had nachos and wings, along with a free hot dog. Guinness and margaritas too. Cool location along the river, fun staff and nice layout - outside, upstairs and downstairs. If you’re in Limerick make sure to stop by this place.

Loved this pub! They have live music and dancing which was the best part! This felt more like a place geared towards tourists, but we did not mind. Prices were affordable and portions were large. I had the fish and chips. It was crispy, fresh, and delicious! They had a decent draft list and poured a perfect stout. Overall, would definitely recommend.

What a pleasant place. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the chicken sandwich. It was much better than I expected. Reasonably priced, great bar, better food, and live music starting at 9. The service was a bit slow, but other than that better than expected pub on the water.

The locke burger .. take away ..... First time eating here and I have to say it will be my last . Firstly the cost is scandalous. 2 chips and 2 burgers. 21 euro .. for a take away ?? Then the chips were doused in some sort of salt and pepper flavouring which was horrible and the chips were over cooked. The burger itself was under cooked . Never again !!!!

Such a fun place! We went twice during our vacation from the states and really enjoyed the music and food!

This was fab for a Thursday night, small queue before us, then we had an inside table and they accommodated us with an outside table as soon as one was available. We had share nacho which were lovely, a bit too many nachos for the toppings but we enjoyed them. The prices are reasonable. The staff were all lovely and very friendly and the vibe there was great. Would highly recommend if in the area. Absolutely nothing negative about the place, loved it.

We visited this place because everyone was recommending it. We were told live music and dance at 9pm. So we walked from our hotel and had a great experience. The food was great, onion rings perfect. Two man band playing Irish music and a dancer performing Irish dance. Very cool.

A fun, warm and inviting place. Food and beer was good and the live music was really a treat. It can get busy during the live music sessions, so I suggest booking ahead.

Definitely deserving of the 5 stars. The beef and ale pie was delicious and the mash potatoes are to die for! Would highly recommend to any other tourists in the area. Oysters were fresh and delicious

It's in a fantastic location, it's very charming and appealing, I'm sure in the summer, outdoor sitting and a pint would be a dream! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We just stopped for a coffee and a quick bite, the place was packed but, since we weren't saying for long, we were offered a table that was reserved, which was very nice. If you're getting only drinks, you're supposed to order at the bar, food they bring to the table. It's a very lively place, I'd love to go back sometime, and spend an evening there.

Visited on a Monday evening - plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor spots if you're lucky enough to find someone leaving. Enjoyed a Guiness by the River Shannon. Moved inside for the live Irish dancing and music (during summer) and some dessert... Order the Kinder Cheesecake special if available... it is SO delicious!! Hint of Kinder chocolate in each bite, the crust was thick, and the caramel was tasty. Will be returning during our 4 night stay here in Limerick!

First time in Ireland and this was the first Irish pub I went in, was not disappointed! Guinness tastes completely different to what we get imported into the UK, there was two guys with guitars playing live music. Awesome atmosphere, drinks and the pub just looks great. Nice staff too, will be back at some point.

I stopped here for lunch on my way through Limerick. Adorable atmosphere. Seating on the River. I ordered inside and went to my table outside. My drink and food was delivered within 5 minutes. Amazing service. Amazing food. I ordered the fish tacos. 10/10 would recommend.

I have been to many "Irish Pubs In the US, Canada and Australia, some were and some just had an Irish name. I have now been to about 30 or so the last two weeks in whilst in Ireland. This particular place was fabulous. 1. The food was delicious. 2. The atmosphere was amazing 3. The staff was absolutely lovely, they made sure that we were fed and well watered. 4. The live music and the dancer took the top. This was a great way and place to end my two week wandering of Ireland. Great experience!

The Locke was recommended to us as one of the best places to have fish and chips in Limerick. The reputation was right on the spot. Excellent food and atmosphere. They have live music and Irish dancing. Try fish and chips with a pint of locally brewed Harry's Pale Ale and you will not be disappointed.

I'm not sure what to expect for an authentic Irish pub, but I have to believe the Locke Bar must be pretty close. The patrons ranged from young ladies dressed to the nine to older couples. The food was ok. The menu is kind of limited and really mostly just typical bar food. But my fried chicken burgers was tasty (and sticking well outside of the bun), and the onion rings were crunchy (a good thing). Someone in my group got the mussel platter and he said it was really good. But the service AND atmosphere were really what makes this pub stand out! We had no fewer than four different servers back and forth to our table, so there was never a dry glass. Combined with the live, traditional music (seven days a week) and the occasional Irish step dancing lass, it just made for a really good experience. And let me not forget the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! It was TO DIE FOR! Five stars right there! And I guess I should mention that there is a good selection of alcohol.

The food was good but disappointed that they would not let my small dog inside, even though I had a special dog bag to put him in. So we had to sit outside and it was cold. Chicken burger was massive with very crispy batter which I love

My god what a great gastropub this is! I had the most incredible Shrimp Taco here. The service was relatively fast, the vibes were great (live Irish music), the decoration was very nice for a pub, and the food was amazing. Highly recommend for anyone looking to eat dinner in Limerick city.

I cannot say enough about how great the food was, how the staff were absolutely on point, the atmosphere was what I’ve missed about Ireland and the entertainment was a 20 on a scale of 1-10!

I liked the gigs inside and traditional Irish dance that they have on some nights. Hospitality is very good. Haven't tried their food. A good place to visit while in town.

I spent close to 6 hours, enjoyed the drinks, the food, and the entertainment of music and traditional Irish dancing! I went on a Tuesday night and it was busier than a Tuesday night back home. Highly recommend, great service, fast food, delicious! It was all so exciting to see a cocktail

Great atmosphere and buzz about the place. Ordered the small wings and there were so good, enough for two people actually! Good value for money. The only downside was that you felt a bit like you were bothering the staff when you went in to order more drinks. Even though you're told you can stay for an hour and a half, you felt like you were committing a crime when asking for more drinks! Other than that, a lovely pub, great food and drinks. Would recommend

Loved the place. The location is great and the staff were so good to us. We only got chicken wraps but they were gorgeous and the rest of the food looked phenomenal we were quite jealous! Also the cocktails were the best I've ever had. Definitely going back there. 100% recommend.

Quiet, great food and good service

Ok, the food here was nice. Had the wings to start which were hot and tasty, ribeye for main which was cooked well, the Guinness was good and staff were very quick to ask if we wanted another drink. So, why only 1 star? When we arrived at 7.20pm we were told we could have a table until 8.30 but could finish drinks outside - grand. Then, during after-dinner drinks we were interrupted at 8.15 and told "So guys, Niall is here so if you wouldn't mind finishing your drinks outside". Niall had booked for 8.30 and instead of being told "your table isn't ready, would you like a drink while you're waiting?" we were ousted from our table after 55mins. Why didn't I book? I called earlier and told they are no longer taking bookings. Despite the good food, in the service industry you should, at the very least, expect good service. Instead we left, not ordering more drinks, but feeling as though our custom was not valued. Locke Bar - I won't be returning here or recommending it. Also, small thing but every Guinness I ordered had spilled a lot over the sides - which I just don't like.

Great food, excellent location and lovely atmosphere. We spent a total of 1hr 20mins there but as soon as our meals were finished, we were asked 5 times in the space of 10 minutes if we wanted anything else - felt we were being shooed out of the place despite a few empty tables

Recently came here for drinks and managed to get seated. Service and atmosphere was great. Would recommend and return to again. Cant comment on the food as I didnt eat here but there were lots of people who seemed to be enjoying their food.

One of the best bars in limerick for sure. The food is great, i’ve had the fish and chips, chicken burger and fish tacos. All good, the fish tacos in particular. They show sports games on request. Live Irish music, great atmosphere. And the staff is phenomenal, we’ve always gotten a table and great service.

Waaay too busy. Definitely have to book a table. But thats because of the good atmosphere and nice environment. Various selection of drinks, great coctails. One of the best fish&chips, scampi&chips (seafood&chips) place. The shrimp taco is simply amazing. Althought, cause of its crowdness the service can be very slow...but don't forget..we are after Covid-times!!! Every place is undestaffed, so BE Patient!!! Almost 1 star less cause the soup was way too salty and too much pepper in it...but accidents happen..i guess its not usually like this. So...if you visit Limerick city.. this is a MUST GO place! 😊

Another great place to hang out. Im from the USA in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This place was so much fun and comforting. I loved the live band, the people, the food, and drinks. Every time I visit Ireland, I dont want to leave. I love that place.

Absolutely tremendous staff here and very welcoming and accommodating, felt very safe with respect to covid guidelines etc I was in last night for a few drinks morretti on draft was 10/10 and tried a the chocolate fondant for something sweet it was amazing aswel as finishing my night with 2 whiskey sours will definitely return when in limerick again, Hoghly recommend

We stopped in for a late lunch. Great service and lovely staff. Pints were delicious. She had the chowder and I had the open chicken sandwich. Chowder was amazing. My sandwich, although the chicken was tasty, the bread was very dry and hard. Didn't eat any of the bread because of that. Chips were tasty as well.

Live music, Irish Dancing, good service - friendly and efficient- and the food is amazing. The flavor of the beef in their burger is so rich and hearty I was glad there were two patties to enjoy!

we’re visiting limerick for the day and wanted to try traditional food, the decorations and atmosphere were great the service was ok we had to ask twice for water and dessert, the main course were good for the fish and chips and really good for the shrimps taco and the fried chicken burger but the dessert weren’t good although we were assured they were homemade it didn’t taste like it (don’t order the crème brûlée or the pie)

Food was nice. Very busy had a live band and dancer, however the music was too loud - you couldn’t hear yourself think. Experience would be nicer if the volume was just small bit quieter. Would recommend keeping an eye on your bill to make sure you’re charged correctly, esp for drink. Skip the desert also - not great, starter/mains much nicer.
