Interesting eclectic collecting of historical objects. No real theme here; just stuff that the original collectors found interesting. There was a temporary art exhibition themed on the wild Atlantic way which I really enjoyed. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Entrance fee is a little high at @€7.50 plus another€5 for the temporary exhibition. Make time to explore the gardens behind the museum for some interesting sculptures and a lovely view of the Shannon.

The „Made of earth“ exhibition was fascinating with a lot of hands on to do, also for kids. Nice little collection of the Hubt family. Very friendly staff 👍

I visited this museum with my daughter, there is a lot to see here. There are many artefacts and works of art, including paintings by Paul Henry, sketches by Henry Moore, and a replica of James Joyce's death mask. Currently there is also an interesting exhibition about Ireland's links with Europe from the time of St Columbanus. This is to mark the 50th anniversary of Ireland joining the EU. A very nice lady explained the exhibition to me when we arrived. We had lunch in the café which was very pleasant, we sat looking out at the garden. There is also an exhibition of paintings in the café, and some sculptures to look at outside. We spent longer here than we originally expected. I would recommend a visit to this museum to anyone visiting Limerick.

An absolute must visit. What a gem in the city. You are taken on an extraordinary journey through history. The scan codes on the exhibits are a great idea, and the pieces in the drawers are a huge hit with my eleven year who has adhd. It kept us engaged from start to finish.

Very interesting spot to visit. It's amazing what this family managed to collect over the years. Staff were helpful and happy. The building alone is beautiful and the vault at the end of the tour is beautifully presented. Good coffee shop as well. Parking in the potato market and walk over the bridge.

The new exhibition in the museum about pottery was fabulous - interactive and highly technologically advanced, with vr sets and touch screen surfaces. Our guide McKenzie was amazing, extremely friendly, knowledgeable and an interesting conversationalist. I hope she gets a pay raise because honestly she deserves it. 😀 Best of luck in your studies, travels and future career growth. 😊

It's a decent collection of interesting artifacts, art pieces and jewelry. Though it's a pretty quick walk through. The wild Atlantic way exhibition was amazing though.

This is a must see Museum/gallery in Limerick and worth making a special trip there to view. It’s housed in a fabulous building and the volunteer staff are a mine of information. The eccentric eclectic collection is fabulous and there are just enough exhibits on display to make it interesting without overload. The cafe is also very good.

It's a lovely museum, though my experience was soured by a member of staff who refused to give me student admission and thought that I was lying about it and didn't see a point to it because of the 50 cent price difference. While I can understand it, it's a rude to say to someone you don't know especially when you have no idea of their economic background. It was just unnecessary and made the experience unpleasant.

There is an article that on Sunday's is free for adults. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. 11euros for 2 adults. The museum was worth visiting. But needs to make sure all articles posted have the correct information.

Stopped in to support Irish Heart Foundation coffee morning. Everything was well laid out, staff were friendly and cheerful. Scones, cakes etc were easy to like. Lovely crowd and nice views of the nearby river Shannon. I didn't do the tour so cannot comment on this part of The Hunt Museum. Recommended for s visit all the same.

A beautiful building holding so many historical artifacts, well worth a visit when you are around Limerick, The Café looks out onto the garden and the Shannon River, All the staff are so nice and friendly. The photos are part of an exhibition of my work in the Museum Café Jan & Feb 2024

A lot to look at, and I mean from tiny pieces like coins, to sculptures and paintings. It can get a little bit tiring looking at so many artifacts, with just a brief description. I wish there were more information about most of the objects displayed, not just a date and what it is.But a good visit either way.

Great museum, don't miss the Apollo statue. And there was a remarkable modern art exhibition "Visions of an Unsettled Earth" during my visit.

Staff member was very friendly. Building is very clean. Nice set of collections available to view. Not very interactive and I felt it was quite pricey. Still worth a visit.

A museum with a really interesting story behind it. A mish-mash of different eras and objects from a private collection. Includes art, pottery, religious iconography and antique jewellery! Beautiful building, which used to be the old customs House. The lovely river walk is right behind it

If you want to experience a XIX-Century style cabinet of curiosities with XXI-Century presentation, this is the museum for you. Staff was helpful and enthusiastic. Not very many visitors on weekend. Good museum for children.

They have an amazing collection, it's like visiting a place with a bit of everything. Due to the wide variety in their collection it's never dull, a place where you can see from an original Picasso sketch to a 3000 B.C artefact. Also, their seasonal exhibitions are always incredibly interesting and highly interactive, suitable for children and youngsters.

The Hunt Museum holds a major collection of silverware of the highest quality including the mask of James Joyce. It was built on certain themes by the Hunt family which was at first a private collection . It is truly remarkable if you receive a guided tour there as it will illuminate the quality of the paintings and the treasures they hold for the astute visitor.

A well spent 2 hours or so. Lots of interesting Irish historical pieces and curios, with few well known international artists work too. Look out for one of the pieces of silver. Supposebly ;-)...

From start to finish an absolutely fantastic collection of artifacts exhibits and perfectly preserved historical jewellery. The voluntary guides have so much information and make the experience far more enjoyable and easier to digest the information. The jewellery as well as the religous artifacts ranging from the bronze age and beyond is perfectly procured along with the advisors makes it easy to get lost in the wealth of information and detail. We spent 3:30 hours there as well as the cafe where you can get excellent coffee and lunch.

The hunt museum is excellent. Make sure to get a tour if possible from the ceramast Margaret Walsh. She really brought the stories alive.

A lovely experience with friendly yet professional staff. Outdoor seating which was glorious in the strong summer sunshine. One visitor with two kids had lost his mask on arrival and was gifted one suitably packaged by a very pleasant staff member. No fuss, no problem.
