Our stay at Uma Kalai was absolutely unforgettable for all the best reasons! The view from the pool area was breath taking. The room itself was lovely, comfortable and clean. The staff really made the experience special by being attentive, helpful and very friendly. Uma Kalai is very peaceful so is the perfect place to relax whilst being close to Ubud centre.

Wow wow wow! We decided to come here for our honeymoon and we were so glad we did! An absolute gem in not only Bali but the world. Be prepared to be looked after, with anything you want or need taken care of. Uma Kalai is a small boutique hotel with only 3 villas and 3 rooms. Each villa or room each has something special, whether it’s the view, easy pool access or its own private pool. The property is also homely, however has everything you could want from spa services, gorgeous pool, stunning view, restaurant/bar on site, and comfortable living and dining area for relaxing, eating or playing games. Where this place really sets itself apart though is the service. We have never experienced such amazing service anywhere in the world. Massive shout out to Eka, Gusti, Rana and Arung. From helping us with our booking, to greeting us with cold towels/peanut cookies/coconut water from the airport to treating us to champagne, flowers and honeymoon arrangements on arrival, to reaching into their personal knowledge and networks to make sure we saw the best of Bali and didn’t get scammed it, it was unbelievable . Their desire to make it the best trip possible knew no bounds even inviting us to their home for a ceremony and reaching out to friends to make sure we were looked after. Don’t hesitate to stay at Uma Kalai, these guys are the best!

I spent 10 days at the Uma Kalai Hotel in April, and it was the best decision I could have made. The hotel is a magical place, run with immense love by wonderful people. Bali is famous for its hospitality, but I've stayed in various hotels and nowhere else have I experienced such sincere and genuine hospitality as here. I felt very well cared for and nurtured, and I experienced the best aspects of Bali. Since I was on vacation alone, the staff took me along and showed me the most authentic places and experiences of Bali. I was even invited to multiple ceremonies, which I will never forget! It was an indescribable time, which I can recommend to everyone. The hotel is situated in a beautiful garden and offers a fantastic view of a rice field. It's wonderfully tranquil, yet conveniently close to Ubud. I would return anytime!

My wife and I had a fantastic honeymoon at this hotel. The service was flawless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel is impeccably clean, with housekeeping visiting twice a day. It's a peaceful and romantic place, with the best hotel staff we've ever encountered. They were all polite, professional, and helpful, and we're grateful to each and every one of them. Special thanks to Gusti, who provided exceptional service with a smile, and to Dicky, who greeted us warmly and went out of his way to assist us when we arrived late. Eka was also incredibly helpful and professional, and Nana was lovely too. The entire team was on hand to help whenever we needed it. The hotel is brand new, just like the pictures, and everything is well-organized with beautiful furnishings. They have everything you could possibly want, and we were delighted with our choice to stay here for our honeymoon. We highly recommend this place in Ubud to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable. We truly appreciate all your hard work and dedication.

I can not say enough good things about the Uma Kalai. An intimate luxury boutique hotel, the Uma Kalai boasts only 6 rooms. While she is small, she is mighty. Each guest is attended to by semi-private staff. The rooms (I stayed in the Jala suite), service, and cuisine are impeccable. Every amenity is provided and the attention to detail is beyond compare. Eka, Dicky, and Gusti were all incredibly helpful, courteous, professional, and friendly. I ate breakfast (included) and dinner there each day of my stay. There are more western dishes available but I chose to eat locally inspired cuisine - you can’t go wrong! The Uma Kalai is conveniently nestled off the main road and is very quiet and peaceful. I slept each night with my doors and windows open to hear the cicadas and running river that is just below the hotel. The views are breathtaking! I also had a wonderful massage and facial by Uni - she is truly talented. If I am ever lucky enough to come back to Bali, I know where I am staying.

Uma Kalai is a stunning private Villa property in Sayan which is about 15 minutes drive from the centre of Ubud. The property has only 6 rooms and has a very lush garden, a gym, a spa, a very well decorated lounge and a very small infinity pool. The Wind Villa I stayed at was super clean, spacious with very comfortable bed and had a heated plunge pool and sauna. The resort has only one restaurant. The food and drinks quality were very good. The resort overlooks rice paddies, the rain forest, a mountain rangr and is an amazing place to unwind and relax. The staff including Gusti and Dicky were extremely hospitable and helpful and made my stay very pleasant. I would definitely stay at Uma Kalai again upon returning to Bali.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Uma Kalai. The views were stunning, the rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff amazing. They went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ubud Bali. They were extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early at like 12pm. We got to hotel super early so this was a big plus. If you book a suite we would recommend the 1 bedroom Water Jala it is the top floor you won’t hear any foot steps. Would definitely send a friend there. Wichittra and Dermot

This is one of those resorts that you want everybody to know about and visit because it's THAT WONDERFUL (but you also want to kind of keep it all to yourself because it's that special). We loved each and every moment at this resort. The villas are stunning and the property is beautiful. We felt so spoiled and pampered as every part of the stay is so detailed and thoughtful. We loved our meals, messages (the spa is so pretty), our yoga class (our yoga instructor was an amazing man!), the gym, the pool area, our driver - everything. And a special hello to Dicky, Gusti and Eka who are all so kind and helpful. There is not one thing I would have changed about our stay - it was just perfect. I highly and enthusiastically recommend this resort to anybody visiting Bali and I can't wait to go back one day soon!

It’s indeed 10 out of 5 stars Everything is beyond expectation The room is very function, new, and cozy. The heated pool is very relaxing and you have own steam room in your room too. The service is top notch.. every one is keen to take care of you and provide you the best to ensure you have e a good experiences. I wish to also thanks to the hotel team and their butler especially Mr Dicky. He is very sweet, attentive, and energetic. I will definitely come back here again when ever I plan the trip to Bali and it’s highly recommend to everyone who need cozy private place to stay. Also the view is spectacular too 🤩

I stayed for two night between march 3rd and 5th 2024 after a conference in Nusa Dua at this secret hideaway. I suppose everyone is wondering why they are getting 10.0 on all websites...I thought it must be a fake. Well: it is not. A small hidden gem overlooking the rice paddies- beautifully designed, none of the monstrosities- just laid back. Oh- and the food ist great and the spa is so stylish and the massage...wow. Dear Uma Kalai staff: you take such pride in your work.Please keep doing it. It was a privilege to meet you: Ade, Deke, Aka, Nomil....thank you for making this unforgettable.
