Pauline's place was an interesting experience. I was expecting a restaurant, but it is a drive up or drive through. They do have outdoor seating, as well as a clean public bathroom. The food was good and hot, and the staff was friendly.

First time experience wasn’t all that great. I ordered a large oyster plate and wanted to get hotdogs for mom but they no longer have them. So I asked for a chicken sandwich but she wouldn’t take my order until she helped the other people behind me. “she said she would get it when the other order was ready but never mentioned it again so I didn’t bother to ask anymore. Oysters were good but not all that, baked beans were just plain out of a can and the fries were okay. Sweet tea was good. Service was bad. I stood in line 20 minutes, patiently.

Best fried catfish I've ever had!! Omgosh, we stopped on our way South, wanted something other than a fast food burger. We walked up with the kids and dog and ordered, 2 small catfish plates, 1 large chicken plate and three drinks for $30 (they do take credit cards). The small catfish is what's pictured, it's a ton of food!! There's little picnic tables under the eaves if you want to eat there. The kids love their fried chicken, 2 12 year olds couldn't eat all the food. Definitely worth the extra minute to drive over from 95.

Pauline's place cooked food for over 100 people for us today and they've done it once before and it was great! The folks at FedEx really enjoyed their food!

First time trying and I'm a bit conflicted on this review. 2pc white with fries, although I asked for okra and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese portion was very small but it was good. The chicken was too crunchy and the wing was HUGE. I hate big chicken but it tasted good and after I left the plate closed for sometime some of the crunchieness went away and I actually enjoyed the breast. Been attempting to try something else but the phone has been giving a busy signal everytime I call.

We stopped at Pauline‘s Place on our way from Virginia to Florida. We wanted authentic, North Carolina, barbecue and Pauline‘s Place showed up on Google maps. Saint Paul, North Carolina. If you are traveling south, and looking for a great barbecue, this is it! Five minutes off is 95.

Just got 3 plates. Food was good BUT at the bottom of the Mac and cheese there was a black hair. And the bake beans is a NOOOOO go. They still hard and way to sweet.

I am a Florida girl and love seafood. This is the best fried fish in NC. The fried chicken is amazing too. It is fried in a liquid batter and has a great flavor. The pieces are huge and the wings are the biggest I've ever seen. It's a must eat place!

My 3rd time eating from this place..fries are seasoned well and the chicken breast sandwich is hands down the best..the flavor of the chicken is great, I can eat it with no sauce, that’s how good that chicken is..when my family comes down from NY I’m going to bring them here

For the price you pay you should get more food especially when the lady tells you can get a whole bunch of shrimp for $25 a plate and we still didn't get the shrimp that we thought we were going to get it only covered half the portion of that plate that should do better but they are family service but I don't know if it's just that they don't give us the right amount of food or what when somebody tells you you're going to get a plate full of shrimp that's what you expect to get and me and my brother was very disappointed especially when $25 and semi change when you could have went somewhere else or grocery store and got what you wanted for less

I kept giving this place a chance, because it was a time the food was hot and taste good. Now every time they throw small amount of cold hard food in a plate and take your money. It's disappointing that this is whats happening at this once great place.

I get the catfish. They have other fish like flounder. But the catfish has some kind of seasoning, oh my. My friend said he didn't like catfish, I had him try it and now he can't get enough of it. If you're traveling, it's not that far off the interstate, you really need to try this place.

This place has been around for years! So that says a lot about the quality of the food! Me and my family always stop when in the area.. I suggest the shrimp plate if you're a seafood lover.

Good BBQ. Vinegar based. Other selections available (chicken fish etc) . Better to support them than McDs. The person normally at the window is not cheery consistently (read at all) and has screamed at ppl in line about social distancing and wearing masks while handling drinks and food containers while, you guessed it, not being masked along with others in the kitchen. I don't wear them so IDC. In a nutshell, food is good, their normal front person sucks, worth the attitude to not go to a chain fast food place in the small town.

Fish and shrimp were fried nicely and tasted good. The collards were not to my liking, they tasted like they had sugar added to them. They have a great selection of Southern favorites to choose from.

I wish I'd known this place was there while I lived in Lumberton. They have awesome Collards , missed the bacon though. Would have liked to try more things. Next visit I'll stop by for sure.
