Major
Disappointment-
tourists
trap
We
went
to
Genevieve's
at
the
recommendation
of
tour
books
and
was
very
disappointed.
The
atmosphere
of
the
restaurant
is
amazing
and
quite
romantic.
We
were
sat
by
the
kitchen
and
therefore
was
seeing
how
the
food
were
prepared.
There
were
a
party
going
on
that
night
so
the
kitchen
and
waiting
staff
were
a
bit
slow
with
coordinated
service
(understandable).
As
soon
as
you
sat,
the
waitress
gives
you
a
menu
and
a
mosquito
spray.
The
menu
is
half
filled
with
Genevieve's
soppy
life
story.
The
main
course
is
divided
into
Eastern
and
Western
mains
whilst
only
Eastern
starters
are
available.
We
ordered
2
fruit
shakes,
the
drinks
were
very
sour
compared
to
outside
and
it
took
ages
for
it
to
come.
Our
starters
arrived
before
our
drinks.
It
was
also
double
the
price
of
a
shake
from
a
Pub
Street
restaurant.
We
ordered
2
starters
and
was
pretty
alright
with
it.
It
was
local,
tasted
decent
but
it
wasn't
anything
special.
It's
the
same
fair
you
would
get
at
a
local
eatery
for
$0.50.
Then
the
main
course
arrived.
The
meatball
noodles
were
full
of
ginger,
I
could
taste
nothing
but
ginger.
It
completely
ruined
the
dish,
I
can't
taste
the
delicate
spices
of
the
soup,
I
can't
taste
the
meat.
It
was
just
freaking
ginger
everywhere.
We
also
ordered
a
slow
cooked
lamb
shank
as
it
was
recommended
in
a
YouTube
travel
video.
It
was
not
good.
The
meat
was
tender
but
it
tasted
like
nothing,
no
spices,
no
seasoning.
The
sauce
is
completely
wrong
suited
for
the
meat,
it
tasted
like
it
should
be
in
a
microwave
Shepherd's
pie.
The
mash
was
not
seasoned,
with
minimal
cream/milk.
The
broccoli
is
grilled
whilst
drowning
in
oil.
This
meal
cost
$38
after
5%
service
charges.
It
is
not
worth
$38.
Food
in
Siem
Reap
is
cheap
and
tasty
and
this
is
none
of
those
things
(meal
for
2
is
$3).
Do
yourself
a
favour
and
eat
at
a
eatery
full
of
locals
and
not
tourists
(they
always
have
English
menu).
