I have been travelling the world for the last 6 months dinning in restaurants from Michelin star to street food. Tonight we dined at Genevieves, from the moment we walked in this place captivated me. Phil's story, the staff and the ambience smothers you with warmth like an embrace from your loving family. Phil and his delightful waitress carefully went through the menu, explaining several items and suggesting top sellers. Based off their recommendations we choose a starter of rice paper spring rolls with mains of 2 types of beef. The dishes were AMAZING. The flavours felt like they were dancing in your mouth. I am so glad we found this restaurant on our first day in Siam Reap because I can see many future visits coming.

Major Disappointment- tourists trap We went to Genevieve's at the recommendation of tour books and was very disappointed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing and quite romantic. We were sat by the kitchen and therefore was seeing how the food were prepared. There were a party going on that night so the kitchen and waiting staff were a bit slow with coordinated service (understandable). As soon as you sat, the waitress gives you a menu and a mosquito spray. The menu is half filled with Genevieve's soppy life story. The main course is divided into Eastern and Western mains whilst only Eastern starters are available. We ordered 2 fruit shakes, the drinks were very sour compared to outside and it took ages for it to come. Our starters arrived before our drinks. It was also double the price of a shake from a Pub Street restaurant. We ordered 2 starters and was pretty alright with it. It was local, tasted decent but it wasn't anything special. It's the same fair you would get at a local eatery for $0.50. Then the main course arrived. The meatball noodles were full of ginger, I could taste nothing but ginger. It completely ruined the dish, I can't taste the delicate spices of the soup, I can't taste the meat. It was just freaking ginger everywhere. We also ordered a slow cooked lamb shank as it was recommended in a YouTube travel video. It was not good. The meat was tender but it tasted like nothing, no spices, no seasoning. The sauce is completely wrong suited for the meat, it tasted like it should be in a microwave Shepherd's pie. The mash was not seasoned, with minimal cream/milk. The broccoli is grilled whilst drowning in oil. This meal cost $38 after 5% service charges. It is not worth $38. Food in Siem Reap is cheap and tasty and this is none of those things (meal for 2 is $3). Do yourself a favour and eat at a eatery full of locals and not tourists (they always have English menu).

Really great dinner here on a Saturday night. We didn’t make a reservation but were easily accommodated. The food was fantastic-both the Khmer menu and the Western Menu. I had the Lab Khmer, which is a spicy cold beef salad and it was wonderful. Perfect portion size. My husband had the Australian beef, it was perfectly cooked. The staff were warm and friendly, and one woman in particular had a wicked sense of humor. We really enjoyed our evening!

Fantastic and beautiful restaurant, but more importantly the incredible kindness that comes from the staff. The food is fantastic. On the menu you will find Khmer and traditional dishes. If you can do it more than once, come here to try more food. Thank you for all the experiences we have received from you here. 10*

One of the best dining experiences we had in Cambodia! The fish was very delicious as well as the noodles. We ordered spring rolls for appetizers too and the food was served pretty fast (the fish took longer) and price was very reasonable for the area. I'd totally recommend it! The staff is very friendly and drinks were also tasty.

Amazing Vegetarian Khmer food! There is a separate menu for vegetarian (2.5$ - 5$) options however they are willing to change a main order to vegetarian. Classy ambiance and smiling staff. We were offered more rice several time but the servings were so big we could not take it! Literally the best Khmer food we had in Siem Reap... we finished it all!

This restaurant got story. I am not gonna disclose here and please to and read it when you visited there. You’ll find it very meaningful if you think food is about communication of love and about sharing. The place contains lots of mosquitoes but there’s mosquitoes repellent provided. So kind of them. Place is lovely and relaxed. All staff is having morning glory smile and very sincere. I’ve spent 2 hours there for dinner which half of the time is chit chat with their staff. They are willing to share their world and understand your hometown too. It values more than anything for a tourist to understand how local lives and their thought! I’ve ordered a spring roll, lak lok, mango ice cream with 2 sets of draught. It costs me USD20. It wasn’t too expensive at my hometown but already kinda above average there. Nevertheless, it’s my best restaurant pick in SIEM REAP.

Deserves more than ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Owner was awesome and really kind and the food is probably the best in town when. Servers were very attentive and hardworking. If you want to come here, don't go on an empty tummy as you might need to wait a bit to be seated, but even that's not too long. Highly recommend! Try the duck and pork.

Food was nice but the three dishes we had were not great. All three dishes were a little to sweet for our taste and the waiter didn't ask at any time if we liked it.

Love the story of the restaurant and I had the best curry here! The gravy was really thick and it's not too spicy! All the food were freshly made as you can see them preparing the dishes in the kitchen. The ambience is really good for couple to enjoy their time there. Will be back again!

Amazing place... amazing food. We looked at several places in this neighborhood...near our hotel. And we are so glad that we came here. The food is delicious. Good sized portions and made fresh. Also, the desserts are incredible. Great food for a modest price. Don't miss this one!

Beautiful environment and yummy food. Can easily reach this place with a tuktuk. It’s not too crowded when I went there, so I can really enjoy my food and the ambiance. Worth-trying if you ever visit Siem Reap.

🫤 We had some sort of dumplings as starter which were extremely chewy and tasteless. They also had some type of fusion ‘gratin’ which was below average and a khmer beef curry. The place is close to pub street and the market. IG: Nougusta
