excellent place to find the *true* sichuan cuisine. it is a rear gem of food Nirvana! normally we don't do fired rice, it was at our date's requested. apologize for showing it. they are truly not that bad. most of us dinners are not used to these kind explosive flavors and tastes a sichuan cuisine. restaurant like such has become hard to find and they couldn't stay in business too long. in a few years, all we going to see are some egg drop soup and general dao chicken on the menu. since the old chef retired at my favorite hole in wall on annapolis road, we have not tasted the true "chicken in sichuan pepper " and "mapo tufu" for a very long time. this restaurant is the sister of another bistro in ellicott city "tea house".

I USED to believe Baltimore didn't have a restaurant that could satisfy my craving for Chinese food-- something that was flavorful, comforting, but wasn't served a "small plate" cause sometimes you want a GIANT helping of saucy, piping hot, Chinese food! Red Pepper Sichuan Kitchen fixed that belief! Though it's very different than the Hunan-centric places I grew up around, this food is GOOD! Everything was freshly prepared, HOT, and full of flavor. Staff brought our food to us very quickly and made payment easy. The restaurant itself was super spacious, clean, and I imagine it can be very lively. Love the large windows at the front.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. They were very flexible for us being a huge group and having kids. Waitress and hist took a lot of time and care explaining the different dishes to us. Conveniently located in Towson Uptown.

The menu is amazing, not just in offerings, but in the actual design. The food flavor and portions were excellent! The atmosphere was stellar! You can actually see the kitchen from the dining room and it is immaculate. Will definitely be back and bringing friends!

My son and I drove through pouring rain today to get take out for dinner. Our take out had three entrees, each with rice that I had selected on the side. When I got home, I realized none of the rice was packed. I called the restaurant and they were not able to deliver, but said they could give us rice if we came back. My husband drove back to get rice and I requested that we at minimum get credited for the extra trip that we had to make plus the rice. The manager was SO INCREDIBLY UNHELPFUL and by the end of the discussion, suggested that we were lying about the rice and that the person who packed our food in the back room said he’d included it. Why on earth would my husband have driven back in the pouring rain if we had rice in the first place? Just to ask for gas money? In the end, we were credited with ten dollars to cover the extra trip after truly fighting tooth and nail about this. I’m astounded by the lack of accountability they took and the fact that we had to argue to get them to even credit us for the extra trouble, and unfortunately through this interaction they have lost our service and whoever we happen to share this with in our friend group. I do not recommend this restaurant. I have added a photo of the rice I cooked at home given the fact that this was at all in doubt.

Great place, great food! The food is usually pretty spicy here, but there are dishes you can order that are not spicy at all. Food is served family style, so it's plenty to go around. We were even able to request no pork in the string beans, for us non meat eaters. They continuously replace used plates with clean ones and refill the water glasses like clockwork. Such great service! They had a guy playing the piano. My 2 year old granddaughter showed interest in playing, so he scooted over and took the time to let her play. That moment stole my heart. Thank you Red Pepper.

You can tell countless hours were spent perfecting the flavors of their dishes. Amazing food, great service. Would recommend 10/10

I ate here with my colleagues for work reasons, and I was surprised that the taste was surprisingly delicious and authentic! Highly recommended!
