This was our first visit here and I have to admit it was really disappointing. The service was extremely slow from the moment we sat down at our table. The table that was seated after us were given their menus first and drinks. When our server finally arrived we were ready to order drinks, appetizers and our entrees. Once they were placed, we didn't see her for over 15 minutes to the point other servers asked if we had even ordered because we didn't even have water or bread which should have been given immediately. Finally, another gentleman( floor manager or manager) brought us our drinks. After about another 10 minutes, our server tells us that one of the appetizers we ordered was out. Ok, no big deal, it just would have been nice to know that sooner. Now on to the food: I ordered shrimp escargot which was interesting. Instead of snails it was shrimp with cheese, a butter sauce and slices of a baguette. The shrimp were super overcooked and dry which is crazy because it was covered with cheese and soaked in a pool of butter. It had potential to be good but wasn't. For my entree, I had the chicken marsala with broccoli. It looked delicious but with my first bite I was overwhelmed with salt that I couldn't even taste the marsala sauce. I wanted to send it back but feared we would have to wait to long and my husband was starving at this point. He ordered the lamb Shank with mash potatoes. The lamb was perfectly cooked and really good but the sauce that was paired with it just really didn't make the dish. Needless to say we were just really let down and the gentleman who help us before must have noticed the disappointment in our faces as he discounted our check some. He explained it was new staff and apologized for the lack luster experience. I really appreciated that. I get that things can happen and don't get me wrong our server was super friendly and polite. Maybe we will visit again when its not to crowded.

Good food, great service...give them a try! Went on a Thursday evening, very busy & seemed a little understaffed (which of course is normal pretty much anywhere these days). After waiting for about 15 minutes, our party of 4 was seated outside. Our server, Michelle, was attentive & friendly, providing great service. Some of the dishes we enjoyed were the blackened chicken pasta, wild mushroom bacon risotto, tenderloin skewers, calamari and strawberry fields salad. Our flatbread was served soggy & room temperature unfortunately. Portions were sufficient. Cocktails could have been better but overall we enjoyed our dinner & our 1st time to Barrett's Grill.

Loved the pineapple passion drink, and the food was great. Our waitress Carly (not sure if that's spelt right) was wonderful. I have celiac and she did a great job with checking if I could eat different things on the menu and great service overall. 😊

A group of five of us went here based on previous reviews, and pictures. The reality actually exceeded expectations. This is a privately owned restaurant which carves their own meats and makes everything from scratch. Their steaks were cooked perfectly. The fish of the day was swordfish which was also cooked beautifully. The crab cakes contained mostly lump crab and seasoning. There was little filler in the ones I had. It was served with a house made sauce. They were the best crab cakes I have had to date. The crab and corn soup was delicious with lumps of crab in a tasty creamy base. The flourless chocolate cake was far better than I was expecting and is the size of a brownie. The bread pudding was soft and had a nice texture to it. I really don't like nuts in bread pudding but in this case I will definitely make an exception. The nuts didn't get in the way of the texture. The creme drizzled on top of the pudding had a good flavor.

The food is high quality BUT I feel the prices do not match the portion sizes you are served. Our server was good at first but then seemed to slip away for long periods. She was very friendly but just attentive to us the length of our visit

Restaurant week specials were An amazing deal. Chicken dip was especially good-filling, flavorful and creamy. Ribs were perfect. Cooked to the point that they came off the bone easily. Barbecue sauce was tangy. Service was nicely attentive and comfortable.

We were greeted/seated by the pleasant hostess as soon as we arrived and had the pleasure of having Bruce as our server this morning for brunch. He was pleasant, professional and very attentive - our drinks never reached the bottom without Bruce asking if we'd like another. We had the Maryland omelette with potatoes and the pancakes with bacon which were both very good. The final touch was the staff member holding the door open as we left. Top notch service and good food! We will definitely return!

Visited for 2024 Restaurant winter week. Service was slow, but I expected that for restaurant week. Servers were nice, but our waitress just forgot we were there or something.... anyway, Once we we brought HOT rolls, we began our foodie experience. Lamb chops & BBQ ribs... WOW! I honestly loved the flavor. Was not disappointed at all. My husband is not easy to please and he was thoroughly satisfied with his crispy chicken Cobb salad and rib entree. I wish I'd tried the crab and corn chowder. Maybe next time. The dessert menu for restaurant week specials did not include the bread pudding or creme Brule- that made me sad lol.

Barrett's Grill is a nice restaurant with lots of outdoor seating when the weather is not so sweltering. I had dinner with a friend and we had the crab crostini appetizer and they were delicious. However, I wished our server would have told us that they were $30. I guess that's to be expected with the price of crab nowadays. I had the salmon with roasted cauliflower and both were very delicious. My friend had the shrimp and grits which also came with andouille sausage. She said that it was absolutely wonderful. I do wish there were more shrimp options on the menu, but the menu did offer a variety. For those who like the little spirit there were plenty of those to be had. The place is smaller inside than it seems but it's nice and cozy and the atmosphere was quaint. I would definitely come again with my husband for a nice dinner.

This is our favorite place to dine. Food and service here are always consistent. It was raining as we walked to the entrance and was immediately greeted by the host who held the door open for us. We were escorted to our table. Our server was JP (or JB- sorry, I can't remember), gave us menus, and informed of that day's special. We didn't realize it was Baltimore County restaurant week and was kind of happy to try something new. We ordered soup along with a side of the croquettes. Hubby had the tomato bisque soup, and I had the cream of crab and corn soup (my favorite). We both decided on the cod that was served with broccolini. The food was amazing, but the broccolini was cooked to my perfection, but it was kind of hard to cut since the stems were hard to cut with the butter knife. If I get this again, I would request a sharper knife. The sauce on the cod was really good. They definitely need to keep this item on the menu. The only negative I had was with the glass of water that was served- but it was handled. *************************************,** Service and food was very good from start to finish. The crab and corn soup was tasty, but a bit too warm for my taste, I prefer my food hot. The grilled chicken sandwich was very good, I could barely eat all my fries. The prices are reasonable, and I will say we will be back for brunch or dinner.

My mom and I went to lunch here on a Sunday and had a great time. Service was wonderful, food was very tasty, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I ordered the French dip and will certainly be back for that again!

Service is the star here, our waiter was awesome. Food on the other hand was only ok, I went here with coworkers while on a work trip. My shrimp appetizer was over cooked but had good flavor. Beef short ribs were also just ok. The crispy Brussel sprouts were not crispy sadly. The rest of my group loved there food however.

Found this as a wonderful surprise. Sat outside, enjoyed the weather and a really tasty meal. The waiter was great, always on top of refills, had answers to questions and great selections. The food was good. A little pricey, but worth it, especially for happy hour. Thanks Bruce for a great experience.

Listen... This place is amazing!! The food.. delicious! The staff.. attentive, friendly, and fast! The atmosphere.. casually chill. Stopped here for a quick bite and drink with friends. We let the server know that we had about 40 minutes to sit, order, eat/drink, pay, and leave and she made sure that we were taken care of. It was a nice day, so we sat outside on the covered patio. We had the shrimp and grits, a glass of wine, the Pineapple Passion martinis, and the chef's 1/2 sandwich and soup lunch special. Everything was good!! The corn and crab soup did not disappoint! The shrimp and grits was well seasoned and flavorful. Those cocktails... Whew... If we weren't in a rush, I definitely would have stayed to drink another. They were the right balance of sweetness and alcohol. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You can thank me later! And for those wondering, we made it to our next destination in time with full bellies.

Danielle and Lee are great hosts, we had two events on two separate nights and things went great. Both servers took care of our guests and meals were out on time and delicious. They even set us up for dinner for ourselves after the event so we could enjoy. Thanks again!

My best friend and I arrived without a reservation to celebrate my birthday. Everyone was very welcoming and professional. The man who greeted us, I believe his name is Emmanuel, was dressed so classically and showed us to our table straight away. We were seated at a nice booth with a larger table and it was very comfortable. Our server named JP was very charming and an absolute wonder to meet. He gave us a couple of minutes to decide and periodically checked in on us. I ordered the Fried Brussel Sprouts and they were delicious, whereas my friend ordered hummus with freshly made pita bread. For the main course I got some chicken brochetta (?) And my friend got the bacon cheeseburger. Both were fantastic! This was my first time at this restaurant and the atmosphere was so welcoming and fancy. Absolutely loved it!

I attended a private party of 16 for a 50th birthday celebration. To make a long story short. It took 2 hours for our dinner to be served. And the plates came out slowly we were not served together. Bread was brought out after we had finished our dinner. My meal was cold. Our water glasses had no ice. I really feel bad leaving this because our waitress was very sweet. I feel like she had no help. For this being my first time visiting this establishment, it was an awful experience. I would never go back.

Enjoyed Easter lunch here with my niece! The ambiance felt posh and the decor was beautiful! Our waitress, Mary, was amazing!!! She was sweet, attentive and had full knowledge of the menu to advise us of the best meal options we were considering....and was absolutely right in her advice!! The manager, Emmanuel, is a stellar example of leadership and professionalism. He encouraged his staff with positive accolades and was equally kind and accommodating to guests dining in the restaurant. I will be back very soon to indulge in another delicious meal, dessert and drink!!! A hidden gem in the shopping center, but what an amazing experience when you enter the building!

I recently visited Barret's restaurant with my wife and had the pleasure of being served by Maya. While it was evident that Maya is relatively new to the business, her effort and dedication were truly commendable. The standout quality that made our experience memorable was Maya's wonderful personality and her true self which deserves a solid 10 stars. She had a genuinely nice demeanor, a beautiful smile, and was incredibly friendly throughout our meal. Maya's service was characterized by her politeness and non-intrusiveness, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining atmosphere. While I wouldn't say it was the absolute best service I've ever received, Maya's genuine kindness surpassed any shortcomings. Her personality outshines both the menu and the drinks she served. In fact, Maya became the missing link that many other restaurants I've visited seem to lack: a combination of exceptional personality and service. I highly appreciate Maya's efforts in going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Her warmth and friendliness added an extra touch to our visit, making us feel welcome and valued as customers. I would like to applaud Maya and her management for her outstanding service and for embodying the essence of exceptional hospitality. Without a doubt, she significantly contributed to our positive perception of Barret's restaurant. "People of Google" you need Maya at your table.

Love the private room for my grandkids to "roam" freely. We do family brunch there several times a year. The wait staff are great. Food is yummy.

I was debating on what restaurant to visit and Barrett's did not disappoint. First of all my hat's off to the wait staff. Despite being very crowded they came to me no less than every 5 min to see if I was good. It was not just my waitress but various members of the staff. When the drink I ordered initially arrived I saw the overwhelming humber of Ice cubes and assumed it would be mostly juice or water but it was surprisingly strong. Next came the Salmon. I was initially craving the bread pudding but the salmon had a sauce that was best described as 60% sweet 40% savory. It also fell apart as I plunged my knife into it ... simply beautiful. Needless to say it killed my drive to eat desert. This was a great experience, I highly recommend this restaurant for the combination of outstanding food and service.
