It should be called hill top negligence. I decided to take my dog Shadow away from this service to save his life .Tumour it was quite obvious for other vet but was not quite obvious for Hilltop vets.Hill topare not even familiar how to put my dog into sleep . Took them 30 minutes to do a job. Other vet not even 1 . I just hope places like Hilltop vets are going to be turned into parking spaces because there's no demand for this service.

My fur baby got poorly and hilltop saw her immediately. Advice was thoughtful and very informative. We now have a plan to get her back to full health. Receptionist was lovely and friendly and the vet Julie had lots of time to discuss the situation and possible outcomes. Thank you Hilltop. Couldn't have been more opposite to the experience I had at pets at home cowley.

I can't express my thanks enough to Julie who stayed with our very sick cat outside working hours to ensure that she was well enough to be transferred to a specialist out of hours centre. She has great compassion and knowledge, taking care to to explain our options to help ensure our cat had the best chance possible. Highly recommended!

We've just moved out of the area and are sad to say goodbye to Hilltop vets. They have been great to our two dogs - especially when our Labrador ate something he shouldn't! They come highly recommended.

Just recently, 2 of my dogs were badly, in one case life threateningly injured in a dog fight. The amazing care they received as urgent cases, with hours of surgery after hours was second to none. The whole team were involved in their ongoing care for weeks and they could not have been kinder or more supportive of the dogs or me. At one stage I had to be given 'the warning' that things might not go well with my youngest girl and they hugged me as I dissolved in tears, offered me tea and were just lovely. Thankfully, that was not the outcome and that is purely due to the excellent care, knowledge and compassion, from the greatest vets to the nurses and trainees. Even those who weren't directly involved took an interest. Everyone made my dogs so happy that they now get noisily excited when we pull up outside as they can't wait to go and see all their human friends. Not the average reaction to arriving at the vets. I cannot recommend the Hilltops team highly enough. They now feel like extended family will forever have a soft spot in my heart for their incredible life-saving skills, supportive nature's and their empathy, both to their patients and to the anxious pet parents. Choose these guys if you want your pets to be happy to go to the vets 🥰

I have been using Hilltop Vets since they opened. It’s a fantastic practice where they care for both your animals and you! They have always been professional, caring and patient. They even put up with me, a slightly neurotic dog owner. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Julie and her team provided Emma with the most amazing care when pseudonomas aeruginosa caused a terrrible infection in her ear. It wasn't easy to cure and without their determination and expertise I don't know what would have happened. Emma couldn't wait to get into the waiting room after she first met the team, fully expecting love and cuddles even when the procedures were uncomfortable. We have moved away and how we miss them all!

Both my beautiful old Baldrick and myself have been well cared for by this veterinary practice over the years since they opened. The kindness and empathy they demonstrated both to me and my gorgeous Lab after I had to have him “put to sleep” at home and then have his earthly remains taken into their care. If I could give them 10 stars I would!!

The trip to the vets is often stressful with cats, whether they are poorly or just going for vaccinations etc. The reception team are amazing at welcoming both humans and animals and help to put you at ease. The clinical team, nurses and vets are knowledgeable and great at listening to any concerns and suggestions! I like that I’m able to send emails with information and queries about ongoing issues. I cannot recommend highly enough.

"Unprofessional and Heartbreaking Experience at Hilltop Veterinary Centre, The Barn, Hinksey Heights, Oxford, OX1 5AB” I am deeply saddened to write this review about my unfortunate experience at Hilltop Veterinary Centre, The Barn, Hinksey Heights, South Hinksey, Oxford, OX1 5AB. My beloved kitten passed away a few months ago under their care, and I am utterly disappointed with the unprofessional and unsatisfactory treatment provided by the staff. From the very beginning, it was evident that the veterinary team lacked the expertise and compassion required to handle my kitten's condition. They failed to accurately diagnose his ailment, leading to a delay in proper treatment. Their lack of attention to detail and thorough examination is unacceptable, especially in a profession where lives are at stake. The only thing it seems they care about is their fees. As soon as your insurance limit reaches, they stop the care and force you to put the poor pet down. To add insult to injury, the veterinary centre's insurance limitations hindered the level of care my kitten deserved. The fact that their ability to provide adequate treatment was dictated by insurance coverage is not only disheartening, but also raises serious questions about their commitment to animal welfare. It is distressing to think that my kitten's untimely death could have been prevented if the veterinary centre had prioritized his well-being over financial considerations. Moreover, they charge us a hefty amount of money despite the fact that we had insurance and Vet Centre membership as well. Throughout, the staff's demeanour throughout this ordeal was far from comforting. They displayed a lack of empathy and failed to provide the emotional support that pet owners desperately need in such difficult times. Their insensitive and dismissive attitude towards my concerns only exacerbated my grief. I strongly urge pet owners to think not twice but thrice, before entrusting their beloved companions to the Hilltop Veterinary Centre, Hinksey Heights, Oxford. The level of care provided was far below the standard expected in the veterinary profession. It is a devastating experience to lose a pet, and the added disappointment from the veterinary centre's incompetence has made the grieving process even more challenging for all of us, including my children. It is my hope that by sharing my unfortunate experience, other pet owners will be cautious and find a veterinary centre that truly prioritises the well-being of animals, demonstrates professionalism, and offers genuine care and support during difficult times.

All the staff are so lovely and welcoming! Nice waiting room with coffee available, a toilet and beautiful location with walks. My dog has seen all 3 vets on separate occasions and they have all been so thorough. I persuaded my neighbour to move her cat to Hilltop as they are great with cats too. The nurses are lovely and I would recommend talking to them for advice on weight management if your dog is a little too well built like ours.

I have used Oxford Vets Hilltop services for almost three months now. The staff is always friendly, compassionate and helpful. I have frequently required same day appointments, and they are always able to accommodate our furry family. We love Oxford Vets Hilltop! Highly recommended.

Only just joined them after several uncomfortable vets before. They are so nice and go out of there way to support you and your pet. Leslie Anne is just wonderful. Mia our husky who has had some unfortunate bad luck with her legs is making great progress and we feel this will be helped with Hill Top vets on board..

A warm and friendly welcome at Hilltop Vets - quickly putting both myself, Skye and Otis at ease. Clear explanations of every step and procedure also made the experience a calm and reassuring one. This surgery is new but clearly the team are very experienced - highly recommend them.

A lovely friendly team managed by a ginger cat who mans the phones and greats people at reception. I’ve taken my dogs and a cat there and both the animals and I were treated with kindness and respect in an unrushed way. Just what you want from a good Vet.

Our beloved Great Dane Rhaegar snapped his cruciate ligament and we were referred to Hilltop by our own vet ; Katherine at iffley vets for specialist surgery. Hannis performed the surgery which to us is nothing short of a miracle it is still less than 4 months and from day one Rhaegar has never looked back , he is now happy and pain free , we can hardly see the scar and he walks and runs like nothing had ever happened . Every aspect of the service was excellent and worth every penny . We cannot speak highly enough of this practice especially Hannis and his team. Thank you
