The pub was absolutely perfect! We booked a room and didn't realise we needed to check in advance about pet room availability. Luckily they managed to sort the room out for us. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. The dog rooms were modern very clean and separate to the main pub so you can walk straight out into the beer garden. As for the food I wish I'd taken a photo of it but I was too busy enjoying it. I had the lamb dinner and my partner had the pie both recommended. If you want to treat yourself get the Berry Pavlova, all I can say is wow ! 👌 Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay. Sean and Nigel were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly and super helpful. Great pub downstairs, very comfortable beds and clean rooms. 10/10 would recommend! Beautiful location and an easy bus ride into bath.

Great pub, great food, great place to spend a night or two. We had booked 2 rooms, both clean and comfortable. The food served was delicious. Took the owners suggestion and visited Farleigh Road Farm Shop for breakfast, which was a great idea. Lovely place and very good food.

We really enjoyed our stay here for a weekend. Very clean room and we were lucky enough to have an ensuite with a separate bath and shower. We had dinner in the pub downstairs on the first night and it was delicious. Unfortunately we were too late to put in a breakfast order for Monday morning as we got back late on Sunday evening (after 5pm). But there was a good farm shop breakfast nearby. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating and we felt very welcome. We would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

Comfortable en suite room, spotlessly clean. Well equipped ( hairdryer, toiletries, fan, tea&coffee biscuits etc) plus a complimentary continental breakfast as pub itself was closed. Free car parking. Met the manager on the morning that we left and he was very pleasant and said he hoped that we’d return if we were that way again. We would. We had no complaints at all. A very pleasant stay, can recommend.

I know pubs are having a rough time at the moment but that is no excuse for them being rude rude to their remaining customers. We booked a room through Booking. com knowing that the bar was closed which was a disappointment but not a deal breaker as we had business in the next village. However when we arrived there were few lights on in the place but we could see someone in the bar. The door was locked so we rang the bell. No one came so we rang again. This time the chap in the bar came but when we explained we had a room booked he replied "don't you read your emails ". When we queried this he said we had been sent information and ungraciously gave us the keys. We checked our emails after returning home and sure enough there was one explaining how to get in but this had been sent at 10:30 the day we arrived, 3 hours after we left home. There was no info. on the website or the email we received confirming the booking. We have no complaints about the pub but why do some people in hospitality have to be so unnecessarily rude?

We were staying in Bath and decided to have a ride out to find a country pub to eat in. This pub looked welcoming so we gave it a try. We were met by the manager who showed us to a table and it was all positive from there on. The service, food and drink was exceptional. Plenty of choice at reasonable prices. A lovely cozy pub. Well done Nigel and staff. I will definitely recommend your lovely pub to others.

Stayed for one night on Thursday 7th April. Room was very nice and had all we required and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a evening meal in the bar which was very nice. I would recommend the home made steak and ale pie to anyone. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Thanks

Very well equipped, the straightener in the cupboard was very nice touch! We were upgraded to their best room and complimentary breakfast just like that. Haven’t met the staff( we stayed night before Queen’s funeral) so it was nice to arrive late evening with letter attached to the door with all the information. No hassle, just very straightforward so I really loved it. Room itself spotless, warm, clean and cosy. Sometimes you can’t have such service in 5stars hotels where they ask you to pay for absolutely everything. I could give it 10 stars out of 5! 120% recommendation!!

This is an excellent venue. We have stopped here twice for lunch when returning from Bath. The food is first rate, I can recommend the lamb shank, it melts in the mouth. My wife selected the Cajun Chicken she said it was wonderful. The proprietor and staff are very friendly and helpful, the ambiance is wonderful. It can get busy, recommend booking. Go for it but leave room for us.

Mothers' day/birthday lunch. Pub gave mothers a small box of chocolates and a voucher for a return visit. A large plate full of good roast food. Two of our party had delicious pie and chips. Good value for money. Large car park which was useful as the pub was full. Tip: book in advance to secure table.

We visited back a few weekends ago, and after visiting Chedar Gorge. We headed back to the village and to our Air B&B. We made a last minute request for 6 adults and a baby, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. We had a fantastic time, the gentleman serving us told us about the locally sourced meats, was informative about the drinks, and was an out and out genuine gent who was happy to help. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner and when we were struggling for desert choice, he was happy to grab out drinks first and come back for deserts once we were ready. I honestly cannot recommend this pub enough. The food was phenomenal, The service was second to non, and the atmosphere of the space was superb. Will definitely be back again!

We stayed for a long weekend. Lovely quiet village area, preferred to staying in bath. Lovely super clean room, bath and shower in room 2. Roomy and comfy bed. Food top homemade and tasty. Easy bus into bath, but buy tickets online via app as we didn't and it was £15 for 2 return instead of £8.60. lovely hosts, relaxed, and cheery smiles. Will 1000% stay again. Thank you

Excellent hotel, clean and very comfortable. Very helpful as printed off a document for us. Breakfast was good and understandably with a shortage of staff was prepared on a tray and accessed from the cooler cabinet in am. Would highly recommend..There were easy rural walks from village and very convenient for a wedding at Wick Farm. Organisation on arrival via key lock was first class, as was the cost in the Bath area with ease of parking and access from the Ring Road too.

Superbly friendly staff. Very professional. Beautiful location, delightful genuine village pub. A joy. Excellent pub menu, most diligently catering to gluten free requirements. Overall highly recommended without any reservations!

A friend and I had lunch here on Sunday and it was absolutely delicious! Plenty of vegetables and cauliflower cheese and lovely Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes - I had the lamb which was so tender and the staff and Nigel the owner all lovely and friendly but professional too. Will we be returning oh yes definitely!

Had dinner here. The pub was busy and had a great atmosphere. The bar staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and plenty . My wife and I had the steak pie which was delicious it was accompanied with a great selection of vegetables and masses of gravey. If your in the area then I can highly recommend The Rose and Crown.

We went for a Sunday roast and it was so delicious. The lamb melted in the mouth, the portions were very generous and the vegetables were very tasty too (especially the cheese coliflower). My dad had the vegetarian option and it was equally delicious. The staff was very friendly, especially Nigel and Federico. Will definitely go back!

needed a place to stay close to Bath bmx track and this was suggested. very warm and welcoming the staff are lovely and the right kind of attentive. The food was great value, tasty and huge portions, so much so we had no space for puddings!
