If you have never visited Yosemite in the winter season then you are missing out on one of the most beautiful times of Yosemite National Park. The things to do in Yosemite in winter are definitely much more different than another seasons because a lot of places was closed. I went recently in the first day of January 2022, it was actually so tranquil and quiet in the park – unlike in the crazy busy summer months. The being virtually alone driving the winding roads into the national park made it seem that I had it all to myself. The usual 7 miles one-way loop in Yosemite Valley offering viewers a classic traditional winter, it was so relaxing and amazing, it captured many places & sights. The El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Falls, the Mist Trail, the Tunnel View, the Chapel, tiny villages, and camping areas was incredible different in winter. The views of snow glistening on the top of them was truly breathtaking. It is a home of many picturesque. One thing we always say, pictures do not do any justice to this grand view and mactplace... So get out there and explore the majestic Yosemite with your own eyes and your soul is the gift from Mother Nature. Remember, even if your vehicle is exempted, you still have to carry the chains in your vehicle. Bring plenty of different layers to keep you warm , and don't forget to check out the weather before you heading there. It is a perfect time to check out our snowman every one!!!

What can one say about Yosemite national Park that hasntalready been said. I was fortunate that I visited in the wintertime as I was told by our guide that the crowds and the traffic is light. It was really amazing! Words fail to describe the majesty. And fortunately, a week prior to my visit, it snowed - and as it warmed up, snow was melting, so the falls were really beautiful. I visited the park by using a tour service which due to the drive along the winding roads through the Sierra Nevada mountains I highly recommend it. There were a lot of seemingly dangerous curves and the drive seemed somewhat harrowing. I'm glad that I didn't drive myself. There is a food court in the middle of the park with pizza, burgers, and a few other select food items, in a cafeteria type setting. The food was OK, nothing to write about or to review, and also a bit pricey. There is also a shuttle that routinely drives back and forth throughout one side of the park roughly every 15 to 30 minutes (check the schedule). so it's easier to see a little bit more and then shuttle back to the lodge area or parking area.

We love Yosemite in the falls. It was peaceful morning. You can drive to there and parking. There had free bus and waiting for 30 minutes. Just 15 minuses far away to destination. When we first arrived we had the trees to our. The peacefulness lasted about 45 minutes. This gave our time see all grove had to offer without fearing we was holding someone up. We walked the loop and read all of the signs explaining the area. Deer walked along the path without seemingly noticing me. I highly recommend this grove in the morning. The forest is alive with it daily business that we are too loud to notice.

Yosemite National Park is by far one of the most beautiful places we’ve explored so far in the US. With the vast forests and mountainous landscapes, this is a picture perfect place to be. With countless hiking trails and mountains to climb, this is an outdoorsy, hiker/campers paradise. The wildlife and scenery is breathtaking. The trails are fun and provide different levels of challenging terrain. Its peaceful and calming rivers promote an infinite amount of space and opportunity for mediation. When visiting this region, travel with an open mind and plenty of time. Do not rush as the roads are extremely curvy. But don’t let that deter you as this place is absolute work, the travel, displaying indescribable beauty. The facilities within the national park are overall pretty clean and well stocked. There’s places where water bottles can be refilled with clean cold filtered water. This is a destination that we’ll definitely be visiting more in

Absolutely amazing. We spent about 6 hours in Yosemite National Park. We did as much walking as possible and got some amazing views and scenery into our tight schedule. I loved every minute here.

Mesmerizing, out of this world and total amazement. To fully experience Yosemite, it’s all about the trails. An incredible National Park. Year round, it offers different views with heavy waterfalls during spring and lovely snow during winter. You get to see some very unique rock formations.

This is a breath taking experience absolutely marvelous. The pine smell at night is just fabulous. As soon, as you start driving. Into the forest. You start getting the fresh air, with the fresh smell and the beautiful breath taking scenery. I highly recommend camping inside. This is one of California's most beautiful camping areas.

Stunning park. Huge and beautiful. Went in October and the weather was beautiful and seeing the colors change was lovely. The valley where the food is was super packed and barely a spot to park from afternoon to evening, so take the shuttle if you can. The shuttles are free and take you around, drivers are usually good about telling you what is at each stop. Overall it’s a stunning place to be and the rangers are super lovely.

One of the best trips I have made. The decision to drive to Yosemite National Park on the way to San Francisco was well worth it, although not the best in December when there is still snow on the ground. The roads were a bit icy, but the sheer majesty of the mountain and the bridal falls compensated for it.

A lovely park with breathtaking views. Many points of interest with stops, please note that the number of parking spaces is very limited at each such stop. I really liked the episode, an amazing experience and definitely recommended

Yosemite national park is one of the best national parks in California. It has a great view and waterfalls up the Yosemite valley. We had the visit during the early January and it was still snowing up in the mountains, which all for the great and beautiful view of the mountains covered in snow. They were a lot of families and kids doing their winter sports and activities. The roads were icy, yet still safe to drive with all the precautions Really enjoyed our visit during the winter and would be going back in the summertime The drive and the journey to get up to the Yosemite national Park through the Yosemite Valley is just amazing and picturesque

Took a day trip from San Francisco to Yosemite National Park. The park is absolutely gorgeous. There’s so much to see, I need to come back and spend a few days. I was able to see El Captain, and Half Dome (which was relatively close together). Definitely recommend visiting!

This place is really pretty. So many waterfalls to view, mountains to climb, and trails to explore. There are enough bathrooms scattered about. The cabins that I stayed at were nice. They were pretty cozy and not too dirty when I got there. The tour guides there are so nice and extremely knowledgeable of what they are talking about. The bridges there look very cool and seem stable.

For any nature lovers Yosemite is a paradise. One can not get enough of it in one visit. One can visit it time and again to connect with one's soul. It's a gem, a place to find oneself and connect with raw nature. From rocky mountains , waterfalls, ancient trees, wild flowers, snow, lakes, just name it and it has all. California has so much to offer one can not imagine without paying a visit to this god's own forest. It has something for everyone. Green meadows, snow covered peaks, jaw dropping beautiful lakes and what not. One can hike, trek, drive or just sit and enjoy the nature's bounty. It's so vast that every time one visits it offers fresh perspective of Life, beauty and nature.

A beautiful place to visit. Needs at least 4 days without traveling time to explore the park. If you are a hiking person then this one is a place for you. To complete the half dome hike you require a booking and then you can do that. There are many small hikes. You have to visit glacier point to see a magnificent view. You can camp in the park but for that you need to book a spot for your RV or tent area. You'll find a bear, a deer. If you're a bird enthusiast then you'll love this place. There are many trails for hiking as well like lower Yosemite fall, upper Yosemite fall, and half dome trail. The best time to visit is in spring if you like snow then winter but in winter some of the parts are closed for visitors. You'll find many types of wild animals, if you're lucky you'll encounter a fox which is a rare sight. You'll require at least 4 days to explore the whole Yosemite park without travel time. Some of the places from where you will find beautiful views, a tunnel view and a glacier point view. Sunset from the tunnel view is a must to experience.

Such a breath taking experience every time I come to Yosemite. Many amazing view points with several convenient spots like eateries and restrooms. I was worried if the roads might be icy but it wasn’t icy at all, thanks to the sunny weather during our visit!

Been coming here since 1972 (yep, I'm at least that old). Every time is a new experience. Weather was like early summer. Made hikes to the falls wonderful. And, best of all, none of those INSANE summer crowds.

A winter visit to Yosemite is definitely very unique and offers visitors beautiful scenery without being jostled by the summer time crowds. You can spend your day admiring the falls and the peaks from different angles in peaceful solitude. The calmness of the river also allows for great reflections of the peaks in the water.

Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, and for Tunnel View, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. In Yosemite Village are shops, restaurants, lodging, the Yosemite Museum and the Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned black-and-white landscapes of the area.

The views were truly stunning, and I suggest allocating a few days to fully explore this park. Our day trip wasn't sufficient to appreciate all the beauty. If you're limited to a day, plan for 7-8 hours. Check for reservations during peak seasons. Many spots can be easily accessed by driving or hiking, such as waterfalls and scenic viewpoints.

Gorgeous views at every turn. You can see the same site multiple times throughout the day and each time looks different in the different light. Trails are mostly paved and well maintained. Most are easy for strollers and wheelchairs. The mist trail is not for the faint of heart. While paved. It has a very steep incline for most of the way then stone stairs that are steep and wet.

Beautiful scenery! Levels of hiking for all ages and skills, short and long trails, easy to difficult. And all kinds of accommodations, from camping to very nice lodges! Love all the gift shops, but wonder why most of the gift shop items are made in China or similar?! Use local resources!

A blast as usual. Highly recommend the Valley Loop hike which is 12 miles and the Upper Yosemite Falls hike which takes you to the top of the falls. Hopefully we get some good rain/snow like we did this year to really show off the falls.

OH MY! What a beautiful park! Yosemite is majestic with its granite cliffs, jaw dropping vistas, valleys, waterfalls. The place reminds me of God's wonderful creation. It is beautiful year around. For those not into hiking there are so many beautiful spots that you can drive to in addition to the plethora of hiking trails. I am a sucker for sunsets and the sunsets here are phenomenal. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the crowds so would advise getting to the park early. There are restaurants in the park where you can grab a snack/lunch. We grabbed burger and tenders from the grill at the village and it was delicious. Yosemite is HOME and this place will always be close to my heart! ❤️

It's Yosemite, what more can I say! Hiked the John Muir trail up to Clark's Point as the Mist Trail steps to Vernal Falls were closed for trail maintenance. Stunning as always, though smoky as I climbed higher. This was my second time at the park but the first time I've left the valley in search of other trails. Check out Tenaya Lake, it's worth the drive. Unbelievably beautiful high altitude lake with a trail running around it and beaches at either end.

What an amazing place! The air is clean and clear. The views were awesome! Make sure you leave before it gets dark, it’s a two lane highway 120 and 4, and there isn’t any street lights. So either stay overnight or leave hours before it gets dark.

Went early and beat the crowd. Very important to arrive 6 am or before while several entrances are closed due to fire. Reservations required except for locals 'passing through.' We left this time after lunch and they line was 2 + miles long. What took less than 3 minutes at 6 took over any hour at noon. The park is, of course, magnificent even partially shut down. The tunnel view at dawn is wonderful. People friendly. Vendors a bit worn out and lunch at then lodge seemed overpriced. The lodge is a must see. Otherwise, the views, meadows and streams, half done and El capitan were incredible. Many foreign tourists were fun to observe. In all, go early.

We arrived at Yosemite via the south entrance around 9.30am and it takes around 45-60 minutes from there to make your way up to the parking area where you can start many of the key hiking 🥾 routes. Due to the smoke from recent and current fires we had limited visibility but still soaked in the incredible scene at tunnel view. Our hike went via the John Muir trail to Vernal Falls. The falls aren’t flowing very strong right now but we were really happy all the same. The hike featured some steep climbs up stairs but nothing too difficult or tiring.

Gorgeous - one of a kind national park in the US. If you're anywhere near Yosemite you should visit. The Dawn Wall , El Cap, and Half Dome are all relatively close together which makes viewing and hiking quite easy/a treat. When we visited there were too many tourists and the trails we're in superb condition.

Words cannot describe. If you are thinking of going, don't hesitate, go! These photos were taken in the end of May through to the beginning of June in 2023. This was when the snow melting was at its peak and caused the floods only a few weeks before. I feel the best time to go is around May but it all depends on how much snow is melting to get the best time for the waterfalls.

Been here for a day last August 27, 2020 and NO DOUBT that it’s one of the best national parks in US and it has always been awe inspiring, jaw-dropping, and amazing experience. To make the most out of it, here’s some tips. Right now, it’s on phase 2 of re-opening- so MORE CROWD THAN Its first opening last June 1. Arrive very early. Even after or before hours, the park entrance in Tioga Pass has slip where you will fill up details of your reservation no. Car license plate , etc. Place it in car’s dashboard. Just be honest. Make sure YOU ARE COMING with Reservation. 2. TIOGA PASS is exceptional must pass road to see Tuolumne meadows, Tenaya Lake and Lembert dome, olmstead point etc 3. Do Download the NPS Yosemite app and NPS BIKE APP. Yosemite valley offers 2 hours free bike ride 4. The visitors center is officially closed. You can order outside the center though. Park provided list of items and price for you to order. Wait to be called and pick up your item/souvenir. The village store and grill is open though as well as ansel adams gallery 5. Due to pandemic, visitors are still limited but the crowd was pretty much sizable on our time of visit. But there’s still ample parking space to popular spots 6. Sadly, there is no water coming from yosemite falls and bridalveil falls - so minimal.. 7. Most importantly, bring an equally appreciative and nature loving buddy with you. It can make or break your trip and you dont wanna ruin your first visit to Yosemite right?

Awesome park. We just stayed there for 3 nights and didn't want to leave. So much to discover. Due to Coronavirus right now you need a one day entry pass what is valid for 7 days then. You need to buy it way in advance. We were lucky and someone jumped off 2 days before we wanted to go. Even in the summer with barely any waterfalls it is beautiful. I didn't see a bear but dears and squirrels and raccoons. Due to Coronavirus also less people there so your pictures are great and not with strangers ☺️

Yosemite National Park, the Alps of the United States and legendary home of Granite Giants and Giant Sequoias. During peak months Yosemite requires a day pass in addition to a park pass if you are not camping. With the park pass the day pass is $2. I like to stay at the snow play area right outside of the park if I am not camping inside. This makes the day pass extremely easy.

Beautiful place with loads of trails, lakes, waterfalls, and rivers! Go hiking and find some amazing views, walk up next to a waterfall and get cooled off, float down the river on a raft or kayak, enjoy nature! Loved this place and wish we had more time to spend in it!

Yosemite is a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of life. There are hikes for all levels with awe-inspiring views of waterfalls and mountains. Lots of beautiful flowers and don't miss the giant Sequoias! There are two main shopping and food areas: Camp Curry or Yosemite village. You can also pack in your own food and store it in a bear box. We enjoyed the pizza place at Camp Curry. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the shuttles are not running as regularly as usual. We often waited 45-60 minutes to be picked up and they were packed full. We stayed in the whited canvas tent cabins in Curry, but there are also more rustic options in the camp grounds or a little more comforts in the cabins in Curry or the Awahnee hotel. This is a great place for a day trip of spend a week with the family. It's cool in the evening and morning but warms up through the day. Bring mosquito spray!

Magnificent- is the perfect word to describe this place. Massive rocks, huge sequoia trees and majestic mountains. It’s the perfect escapade from every days routine. A short walk and you will see the highest falls in America: the Yosemite falls. Make sure to stop by tunnel point to have a full view of most famous landmark such as the half dome. Restrooms available at the Yosemite lodge.

Yosemite is a great place for getting close to the natures. Those big and old trees, mountains, water falls and the giant rocks… all brought us a great memories!! About a two-hour drive from Tracy is one of the country’s most spectacular protected nature areas, Yosemite National Park. Whether you’re seeking adventure or simply want to take a scenic drive with some amazing photo ops, Yosemite is the perfect destination for a day trip from Tracy. The serene, almost untouched nature areas combined with higher elevations make it the perfect getaway for escaping the crowds and the heat. Within this park, which is situated in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, you’ll witness spectacular scenes, including granite mountains, waterfalls, giant sequoia trees, and the iconic cliffs of El Capitan. Some of the outdoor activities you can participate in include fishing, rock climbing, and hiking. Numerous trails are yours for the taking, such as Yosemite Falls, Mirror Lake, Half Dome, and Mist Trail. There are several campgrounds in the park. The village of Yosemite is home to many shops, restaurants, lounges, hotels, a gallery, and the Yosemite Museum, where you can learn more about the history of the area.

Skip San Francisco and head straight to Yosemite. John Miur walked from SF to Yosemite because he missed it so much, and when he got back he felt he had "gone soft" because of city life and slept on a hard granite slab to reacquaint himself with nature. He was a bada$$. Great place to visit if you have reservations or a day pass. There are so many things you can do for all levels and interests: couples, families, sight seeing, hiking, billing, rock climbing, geology studies, tours, rafting down the river, high country, lake swimming, photography... It really is one of the most beautiful places on earth any time of year. If you can go on one of the off seasons, you're more likely to get reservations for lodging at cheaper rates, the crowds are much less, and the weather puts on a spectacular show that most don't get to experience. Explore feeling small in this valley and stargazing at night. It's incredible.

This park is huge! One day not enough. Also plan ahead and get a reservation to get in. The wait at the gate takes a little while and I saw people get turned away. We were here for two days and will never forget it. Everything is picturesque. Everything. Most of the major attractions are at in Yosemite valley which is approximately 30 minutes away from any entrance. We wanted to camp here but everything was booked. Plan ahead. That being said, this place should be on everyone’s bucket list

Drove for hours to get here. Turned away due to not booking days ahead a reservation. Because of covid? we are more than 6 feet away from other people.

Great magnificent views and sights. Also appreciated that there's a store and amenities available. Travelled during COVID so there were not a lot of people too. The drive in was quite long. Maybe just me or the time of year perhaps, but I liked Zion better.

(Translated by Google) Incredibly beautiful here. Only walk in sturdy shoes, in flip flops it is not so easy to escape from a bear;) (Original) Wahnsinnig schön hier. Nur in festem Schuhwerk laufen, in Flip Flops flüchtet es sich vor einem Bären nicht so gut ;)

No other words but “Breath Taking” scenery! Prices were great. Mostly easy access around the park. The pass was closed due to weather on our visit. Wildlife and great trails were a nice bonus.

So I went with family about 2 weeks ago, it was still smokey but still so SO beautiful. If you have the opu to drive around Yosemite, DO IT RIGHT NOW.

One of the best National Parks visited so far. Great views! Wonderful place!!! Highly recommended!

We went on a guided hike through the Giant Sequoias and it was amazing! After we were driven to multiple viewpoints along the route and took pictures from Tunnel View which had an incredible view of El Capitan, Half Dome and the three cathedrals. If there had been rain this year we would have also seen one of Yosemite's many waterfalls but there was nothing but a sad trickle that we could barely make out. Don't expect cellular reception there by the way. You are pretty far from or have mountains blocking cell towers.

Beautiful display of geological formations and Sequoia trees all in one park. Definitely worth the trip.

Beautiful park but it was way too crowded when we visited. There is also people just climbing where they shouldn't. No staff in sight. There was a few people trying to bike and I say trying because it was impossible in the busy areas.

We got a beautiful sunny day in Yosemite in December. Pictures from tunnel view, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls. The shuttle service was running with low frequency and visitor center was closed. The Yosemite Valley Lodge had decent dining options.

Campsites in January are not hard to get. It's beyond cold but so worth it. Try not to drive around after setting up camp. You will see so much more of the park and wildlife. Bring extra clothes and blankets.

I would say that if you are going to come to Yosemite, you need more than one day here. There are so many things you can do here that you will regret not staying more than one night. Trust me, we did and will come back here. It is simply beautiful what you see there, from the campgrounds to the Cleanliness of the place to the parking for Rvs and cars to the creeks and rivers you can swim to the trails you can walk. You will need a map to navigate the places you want to visit. This is a must visit place to see beauty.

Absolutely fantastic. We stayed at curry village in this national park. There are a pizza place, bar, cafe and souvenir shop in the same area. We took the shuttle bus with a stroller to explore which was convenience . The bus was packed but nobody wore masks. There was no phone signal while we were staying there.

I cannot recommend the park enough, it is simply the best 4 days I have spent on vacation in 35 years of going abroad... Just amazing and awe inspiring - every turn makes your jaw drop....

By far, the prettiest NP I've been to, and we visited quite a few!!! Give your self at list 4 days there. The upper part (Tioga Road) is amazing. May lake is beautiful. If you enter from the west (El Portal), you can use the free shuttle coming from the closest lodge and then you DO NOT need a permit. The permit is required for entering with your own vehicle. Highly recommended!!!

The trip of a lifetime! I went with my kids in April 2022. I’ll definitely be returning very soon. I can’t even begin to describe how breathtakingly majestic this place is. And only a few hours’ drive from the Bay Area! What a blessing!

It's an amazing place to explore. Can't quite type in details. Well maintained and good tourist services. Recommended for everyone to come and visit the place and relax with nature.

Incredible, way too much to see in 2 days! Will definitely be back. We camped at Camp 4 and had a site to ourselves right in the valley on a Tues-Thurs, definitely give the lottery a go.

There are so many hiking trails for every level of hiker or young child to enjoy. My family and I are so appreciative and thankful for the opportunity to enter the park without reservations because of the pre-six am entry option. The views are AMAZING. Our family plans on traveling to Yosemite National Park over and over again!

Absolutely gorgeous park, one of my favourites and most visited. You will find something special and different to love for every different season/month that you visit. Highly recommended for any mountain/hiking lovers. Photos of the Yosemite Valley

Everything was beautiful. Some roads and trails closed due to the fire but overall still enjoyed 7 full days of trails and hikes and nature

I recommend going in the off-season if you can handle the cold and icy/snowy roads. This park will leave you in awe, there's so much to see and it's all incredibly beautiful. Keep in mind if you do come in Dec, highway 120 is closed in certain parts, alone with many other roads that go through the park...the plus side is there's no waiting to get in and there's hardly any other campers. Bring lots of warm clothes and prepare for emergency situations.

I was only able to spend half a day in the park but I definitely made the most of it. I recommend for any runner to do the four mile trail. It's a consistent grade though it is steep. Take it to the top for epic views the whole way. If you go panorama then John Muir trail they take you past the Illiouette and Nevada Falls which are incredible (careful near the edge, especially in winter with the black ice about). Epic to see sunrise in Yosemite Valley!

👍👍 It was absolutely a hidden jewel, you would never expected to have a sandy beach in the valley of the park, under the towering cliffs and domes, yes, here it was!
