I've learned that it's the biggest castle in Scandinavia. Therefore a must see :) Also the garden and view of the castle is extraordinary! Going by train to Hillerød is easy, cheap and it's free to take a bike with you. On your way back you could explore the coast as well. Beautiful day trip :)

I toured the castle and enjoyed it, but the highlight was the park around the castle. Serene. Quiet. Beautifully landscaped.

It is splendid. The altar, ceiling and pulpits are intricate and well decorated. Stained glass windows are brilliant. The ambience is opulent.

This is a very busy spot, with an enormous amount of exhibits to see. We had the smARTify app, but service (data) and wifi were not reliable for us there so we didn’t end up using it much. Download it in advance if you want to listen to the audio guide as you go. The palace itself is gorgeous, definitely take your time taking in the details of each room as well as the paintings and exhibits. Kids can try on period costumes in the great hall and there is an activity book for them. You can easily spend a whole day here. We were there on a stormy, rainy day but the grounds look lovely and I imagine they would be awesome on a sunny day. It is easy to transit here from Copenhagen centre. Check out the street food nearby for a fun, cozy lunch break!

Beautiful tour, but man my feet hurt. I got lost towards the end and gave up on going to the garden because I had walked so much. Amazing palace and cute town!

Take the walk through the castle! You won't find any better. A true five star location. Also great for families with kids.

Great chapel to visit if you are a tourist. Nicely maintained and awesome to see the organ and how it looks from the inside during the maintenance.

Beautiful and must see place in Copenhagen. Can learn a lot about history and about the royal family. Excellent display of the materials used by the royals. The garden in front of the castle is superb and beautifully maintained.

I recently visited this church and was horrified by what I saw. The stained glass windows were cracked and the paint was peeling off the walls. The choir sounded like a group of howling hyenas. But the worst part was the pastor. He was so dull and his jokes were downright offensive. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. And to make matters worse, the pews were as hard as rocks. I left with a broken back and a throbbing headache. In conclusion, this church gets a 0/10 from me. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be bored, insulted, and uncomfortable.

The beauty and the amount of detail in the church is mind blowing. I walked around the 2nd floor with my jaw dropped from the amazing interior.

Incredibly beautiful. It would take days to explore all the arts of the museum, so much different paintings clothes and antic things are there. Some of the paintings are unreal, mindblowing, just brilliant. A must see if you visit this country.

Amazing castle and gardens. Allow for minimum two hours to explore all the different rooms and exhibitions, you can easily spend the whole day here. In addition to all the different rooms (and floors), there are several exhibitions of paintings and photos categorized by various time periods. It's quite easy to find parking within walking distance.

Amazing place. Incredible to walk among the shields of so many great names. Haile Selassi; Winston Churchill; Bernard Montgomery; Tito; Willem III; Queen Victoria; Emperor Akihito; it just goes on and on. The whole castle is incredibly impressive. Worth any detour. Too bad the weather didn't allow us to visit the gardens.
