Staff here are always very friendly. They are super accommodating and family friendly. The food has always been exception pub food. The most impressive thing about the cathedral is the renovation they have done. It features ornate archways, decorative plasterwork and much much more

Always a good place to either celebrate or drown your sorrows after a footy match at the overpriced Adelaide Oval. The last visit was on 1/5/21 after the Crows were whipped by the Giants. Chuck and I weren't celebrating or commiserating as he follows the Power and myself, the mighty Weagles. We went and watched as we had ticket freebies. The hotel is always a busy place but we got in straight away even with the continuing Covid/Corona BS restrictions. Staff are pretty well on their game too. Drink prices are the norm. Nice place to chillax ✔✔✔

We held our daughters 21st birthday party at the Balcony & Rooftop over the weekend. We just want to say how happy we were with the food, service & venue. Sam was great to work in regards to organising the food & drinks menu and Bodi and his friendly staff did a fantastic job on the night. All the guest commented on the lovely setting & delicious food. Thank you so much for making it such a memorable occasion for all of us.

So there I was, lonely, unhappy and frankly quite hungry when I stumbled into the doors of the Cathedral Hotel. A young gentleman with really cool black bangs served me and persuaded me to try their acclaimed beef burger. He also told me some killer jokes to make me smile. This nice chap treated me well (he also poured me a Coopers Pale Ale with perfect head!). “Wowza!” I thought to myself and knew I had found my new local venue. For the best food, service and all around vibez, look no further than the Cath.

Nice venue, unremarkable food, good location - it has potential. We had dinner mid week and the steak schnitzel was thin and like leather. The surf and turf wasn’t much better. The pub has a good location a views of the cathedral across the road but menu and kitchen needs and overhaul to warrant the price

Celebrated my daughters 21st in the upstairs venue and it was a gorgeous space with the best staff ever. Thank you Jack and Co. They were very accomodating and we could decorate as we liked. Good food and gluten-free options provided. It was the best night. Highly recommend to others!!!

I was headed back from Bakery on O'Connell and Brougham Park when I espied this hotel from across the way. I am not a local for indeed I am on holiday here from Geelong. It captivated my eye. My eye lead to imaginings of a raspberry or a sneaky 11am beer. As it turned out, only the corner section was open which is a cafe. Fine, that's fine indeed. Opportunity and chance can combine to be a benefit to you. As in, while waiting with no idea what to order, I saw sparkling waters and -and!- rye bread rolls. Jackpot. I had no belly room after filling up at Bakery on O'Connell BUT tomorrow I am needing premade and convenient food for a long, long bus ride. That rye roll with sweet potato and haloumi will be a thoroughly benficient option. The sparkling water was mere hydration with the light delight of orange and mango. Thank you for wrapping that roll into clong wrap to preserve it for the time! Edit: update, 28.11.23. I had that rye roll and the first half was better and tastier than I had hoped... Haloumi, pumpkin, lettuce, roasted capsicum. The second half... pumpkin seeds. Not pepitas nor even roasted/dried, just seeds. I imagined that the pumpkin was not deseeded when roasted. Or were they deliberate? They were all clumped in one lump. I gag when food is texturally incongruous; thats not something you can control, obviously, but my point is that it is weird, weird as, to roast a pumpkin with the seeds in - then plonk it in a sanger. I picked them out and soldiered because, for all my misgivings it was still delicious. If the seeds are deliberate, my bad, I wouldn't have ordered had I known. But yeh the flavours and all other textures were on the money.

Upstairs works well for functions. Gluten free fish and chips was cooked perfectly.

Classic Australian pub meal regarding the style and decorations. In this particular one, I felt left alone and ignored by the staff. I’m not saying they were impolite neither rude, just a bit not interested … I went there on a Monday around 7 pm, it was just me and another customer. The food was edible enough just to do the job, that’s all, but I didn’t like the gravy sauce, too artificial and dumped on top of the schnitzel covering all the rest, a bit messy. The pub does the job if it’s only about killing the hunger and you’re ravenous, but the quality/service is not that good. I hope it changes in the future, as the building where it’s located is a traditional historic building, pretty cute.

Decent pub food, probably reasonable priced given the serving sizes for most meals (the salmon was quite light on - about a 120g fillet with pickled onions, a smear of hummus and a scattering of coriander and parsley as the 'herb salad'. Also the pistachio crust was so light that I forgot it was there until right near the end - couldn't taste it) Burger was tasty and chips/wedges quite good (preferred the wedges).

Spent some time here this past Saturday lunch with a group populating the upstairs and just wanted to say that the staff were incredible! The food servings were wonderfully generous and the beer was perfect. Had a fantastic time! Thank you so much for being so inclusive and making our community feel welcome. Arrooooo!

We tried to order meals at 7.57 and were told kitchen just closed. Tap beer used to be fantastic but is now barely average.

I don’t even know where to begin! Had a party a few years ago I went to and liked the venue so I booked my 30th there this year. I am beyond pleased with the staff, the venue and the food! We had a massive gathering of people and it wasn’t too much for the staff! Multiple compliments about the food, and the staff just made everything so so easy. Kym was outstanding, and Holly was so helpful and kind! I just wish I could relive the night all over again. Thank you The Cathedral Hotel team for making my night as special as it was. You bloody champions!

Absolutely amazing place to eat out, the food and the atmosphere at this place is just incredible. Very friendly service with a variety and many options on the menu to choose from. Ordered salt and pepper squid, meal was brought out to my table within 14 minutes, even though it looked busy. For a historic building it was a bit hard to hear yourself or partner speaking, as you could not hear over the other people speaking. Overall good value for money and great service. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. If in this location do drop in for a meal and a drink you will not regret it. Cosi Director Cavbiz.

Convenient location for post work or footy drinks. Great for breakfast, coffee and pub feed for lunch and dinner. Chicken and beef burgers with chips are fantastic. Service is good.

Wonderful accommodating staff- the place was under the pump prior to the football game and they made sure we could get the kids fed before the game despite their stresses! Quick service, delicious food and friendly staff!!! Highly recommend!!

I recently visited the Cathedral Hotel in North Adelaide and I must say, this place is a hidden gem! It's such a fantastic space and venue, yet it seems to be hugely underrated. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, and the food is consistently delicious. Whether you're after a casual meal or a night out with friends, this place has got you covered. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a winter night in. Don't overlook this place, it's definitely worth checking out!

Great pub to eat at before the game. On a nice day, they have a great rooftop looking back at the oval and the city. The meals are classic pub meals that taste good and are not expensive.

This is a great pub!! Took our 14 of staff here for dinner on Thursday Dec 15. The Hotel Staff were brilliant, the annex perfect for our group and the food was fantastic. And to top it all off - it was great value. Will definitely be back!!!

Top part of the Cathedral is very nice roof top bar. Service is great by some of the people there, mainly males, but it's not a nice experience when you have 2 employees standing at the bar talking and looking over at you... Food is good, but my friend said the snp squid was over-cooked. Would I go back again? Probably not. View upstairs is lovely though and parking down the side streets is good.

I was underwhelmed with this hotel. Attended a function in the balcony bar. Nice set up other than the fact the weather was freezing and there was minimal sheltered places to get some warmth. Food was very so so. Nothing special and the service from all but a few was indifferent.

Nice pub but again another chef that doesn't know how to cook a beef burger. Patty was almost raw in middle, without asking. Here's a hint chef, it's a burger not a bloody steak ! Staff were good and replaced with a normal cooked burger patty that was tasty although much smaller in size. Undercooked beef patties seems to be a trend at the moment and whomever started this rubbish needs a good slap. Go Wallabies.

Not one to normally leave reviews, but recently had my 21st in the rooftop bar/garden. Wanted to give special mention to Matthew - extremely friendly and so SO helpful with setting up/managing the night/working behind the bar, couldn't recommend him enough! Reece who worked the bar was great fun too! I received so many compliments on the food they provided as well! Thank you so much!!

Great venue and fantastic service. We had the Rooftop, Balcony Bar and Torrens Room and was the perfect setting to celebrate a birthday. Staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone was looked after and accommodated all of our requests. Highly recommended!

I attended a function in the Cathedral hotel bar upstairs. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. They served 5 star finger food and offered a great wine. The entire experience was great. I would definetely do any future function there.
