This place was way better than I expected in post covid climate soo many other businesses are lacking in customer service lately…When I walked in it smelled very clean and the bathrooms were sparkling so was our area which made me very excited to eat with my hands.. the food was delicious and fresh, the customer service was AMAZING and the honey wine made me warm off half a glass❤️ this is a great spot to go as a group or couple. Ps you can use silverware if u like and they have Vegan Options!! One of my new favorite spots

Really good! They have great food, a nice atmosphere, and it’s a very reasonably priced meal. I will definitely be back.

First experience with Ethiopian food and it won’t be the last. The server was very helpful in describing the dishes. And it was so good. Flavors I have never tasted before. I had the tips.. chicken and vegetables combo.

I cannot rave loud enough over this restaurant! The service, the genuine friendliness, and let's not forget the food are all top notch! It was packed on a Saturday night. My husband and I were there in the patio with our toddler. While the indoor dining room was packed, the outdoor patio only had three tables full. The menu and drinks were explained to us, extra napkins and straws and spoons and plates were brought to our table for our son. Even though there is a kid's menu, our son ate off of our combination platter. The lentils and the collard greens were hits with our 15 month old! I enjoyed every bite as did my husband. I already cannot wait to go back!

Excellent dining experience. I've never had Ethiopian food. I loved the spongy bread that accompanied the meal. I was watching a guy tear the bread and pick up his food. I'm a newby so I'll have to practice that technique. Wonderful flavors

We got one of their trays and everything was delicious. Just got a feeling of homemade food. The owner was so sweet and friendly. Definitely going back.

Yesterday was my first time getting to experience this delicious place. We were greeted immediately when we entered, despite how busy they were. Several waiters checked on us periodically during our time. I ordered the chicken Sheba Tips and WOW. Absolutely delicious! Being new to Ethiopian cuisine I wasn't sure what to get, and the waiters were very helpful with explaining what everything is. It was a fantastic experience with authentic Ethiopian food, and the prices were surprisingly low. I will definitely be returning!

One of the coolest dining experiences I've had. The place smells immaculate when you walk in. The service was so friendly and quick to accommodate our party. I enjoyed their Gored gored and had some of their honeymoon wine. I never had such an experience where you technically get to eat the plate, and you eat everything with your hands. Too cool. I would love to come back here again.

Dined here twice while visiting Louisville. The menu has most staples when it comes to Ethiopian food. They also mix flour with their teff, which gives the injera a milder taste which I prefer. Overall, the food is excellent and the service is friendly. Recommend to all to give this place a try!

My favorite restaurant in Louisville, the food is great, service is good, the atmosphere of the dinning area is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about the food, I enjoy eating here, from the start of the meal to finishing the last bit of food on your plate, every bite is a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Queen Of Sheba, for an exceptional meal.

Honestly some of the best fish (Ye-Asa Tips) I’ve ever had. Nice atmosphere and very filling. Worth any wait time. This was my first time trying this cuisine and they made it a returnable experience.

A group from work came to celebrate the arrival and departure of our student workers. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. We had vegetarians, meat-a-tarians, and gluten-free/dairy-free me. Everyone found food they enjoyed. Our phenomenal server was SO PLEASANT and extremely competent. I was a server for years and often had to wait in large parties alone. He did everything perfectly. The food for the table came out together. He knew who ordered what and understood what his customers needed--what is vegetarian, gluten-free, etc The waiter recommended Ethiopian tea w/cardamom & other spices. I got iced & loved it. Next time I'll have hit tea because I think it comes in a fancy teapot. There are several combination dishes so you don't have to decide on one item. I got one of the meat & veggie combos. I don't usually eat lentils, but they came with my meal. They were well cooked & deliciously creamy w/paprika (I think). I ate them all. We had a large group (about 10) and everyone's meals were very well cooked and hot. The injera bread is NOT gluten-free, so my meal came on a bed of rice. Everyone else used the bread to pick up the food. We had fun, tried my new favorite cuisine, and took in the Ethiopian scenery. I will definitely go back. The portions are quite large and very reasonably priced. I think we averaged about $15/person. The food is filling, but not at all heavy. #GF #DF #vegan #vegetarian

Love this place!!! I love their iced tea. I love their greens and lentils. My meat eaters love their tips and greens. And the Ethiopian flat bread is soooo yummy. It is a delicious experience to share food with friends and family here. Oh, and take out is great too.

We had an Ethiopian restaurant we loved in Indiana, but it closed and I never thought we would find one that measured up. Queen of Sheba is even better! The food is amazing, the service was wonderful, and we will definitely be eating here again!

Definitely the best Ethiopian food in town!! Most of the staff is really friendly. There's one woman that is not, at all. If you get the rude woman, ask for a different server.... They aren't all like that!!! Unfortunately, she served me and my parents last night 10/10/23 at 5:30p. My parents had never had Ethiopian food before and they're really open to new experiences and food. This woman refused to give my mother a fork and plate, which I get isn't their tradition but my mom is 70... Give her a break. She watched as a much kinder server gave another woman a fork and plate to eat with. Our server was really inattentive and seemed irritated, she didn't bring us things we asked for, like the small plates for the appetizer sampler we shared. She really was just awful. The other woman working was so kind and friendly. I really wish we could go back in time and get the friendly server. My parents will likely never eat Ethiopian again because of the rude server and bad experience. It makes my heart sad that that woman did that to us. I honestly hope I never see her again. Outside of her, it's a great restaurant, beautiful culture with beautiful ppl, the food there is fresh and delicious.

Authentic Ethiopian fare. I have had many different Ethiopian restaurant experiences in both North America and Europe.(I will make it to Ethiopia one day) This is the best one I have ever had. I have been going there for 25 years and it has only gotten better over that time. The owner seems like one of the nicest ladies and she is the true queen of Ethiopian food. Try the combination platters and for veggie lovera get the Attakilt. Good medium price that will fill you up. Yebeg tips rule.

Excellent and exceeded my expectations! Eat with your hands for a fun authentic experience. Shared the meat and vegetable combo platter; pairs well with the Ethiopian iced tea. Everything was fantastic!

We love Ethiopian food and this was a great representation of the cuisine that I was pleasantly surprised to find in Louisville. We were crushed to discover they didn't have Tej (honey wine) but quickly forgot about it when they brought out the Sambusa ( chicken and beef). Absolutely delicious! Hot, overstuffed, flavorful it was everything I needed until our meat and veggie combo plate arrived.

I haven't tried every ethiopian restaurant, however this is a great place. Ethiopian food is wildly unique, and these guys do a fantastic job on their food. The atmosphere is relaxed, went when it was quiet and not busy, but it's smaller, so when I have gotten pick up from there when busy, it wasn't too loud. Has a nice interior design as well. Seriously, try ethiopian food. This place does a great job and it is so very good, and not too expensive.

I had vegetarian platter which came with two types of lentils, potatos, salad and injera bread. Beautiful platter presentation and seasoning. Service was excellent and nice quiet atmosphere. Lemon cake was light and tummy!

So lovely! It was my first time eating Ethiopian, sharing food traditionally, and eating with my hands. Our server was so friendly and gave such helpful info about the dishes. Super hospitable and affordable, what a gem. Loved it completely. Options for vegetarians, varying levels of spiciness but never lacking in flavor. Definitely go!

Just WOW! That was great! We tried the meat combination. Everything was so yummy! The coffee and lemon cake was magic.

I was excited to introduce my friend to Ethiopian food for his first time and it being my first time trying out the Queen of Sheba Restaurant. Classy place, food was satisfying, but the customer service and treatment toward me and my friends was extremely unpleasant. The waitress was short, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome (Maybe we wasn’t dressed well enough). Our drinks were flat, and when we needed attention at our table, our waitress would be sitting down comfortably talking to someone she knew. Displeased at the customer service and I hope no one else is treated in this fashion.

My husband and I never ate Ethiopian food before, and I was originally hesitant to enter this restaurant because I'm normally a very picky eater (I stick to bland, familiar foods like pasta with butter - I know, I know. I am quite boring). However, since I cherish building new memories with my husband, I decided to follow him into this restaurant - and I am so, so happy that I did. The food that we ordered was a unique experience (our two meals all fit into one massive plate that we shared together) and - after we finished our main course - we had Ethiopian coffee with baklava for dessert, which I enjoyed immensely. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was cozy. I wish this business all the best in the future. I appreciated our time there so much.

Consistent food everytime; the menu is full of dishes most people haven’t had and everyone should try! The platter family style dining makes it easy to try new pairings and tastes!

First time having Ethiopian food. It was an experience. I had lamb-2 ways (sautéed and stewed), spicy lentils, salad, stewed green beans & carrots, stewed collard greens, cabbage and rice. Also, injeri (sp?) bread. I mostly enjoyed the blend of spices, warm - think cumin, smoked paprika, sumac, zataar, maybe chili powder; mildly pungent, somewhat spicy (not too much, tho). Not sure of all the spices. Food well seasoned. Not a fan of injeri bread, spongy consistency a sour after taste. But, I get it, just a personal preference. Great space, adequate parking, great service. Great vibe. Go for the adventure.
