Great place for a hike. Paths are paved with tons of shade. There are porta potties and covered picnic tables along the trail in a few different areas.

5 stars for the diversity and number of the paths. From rocky hills to black top for bicyclists and people. That like that sort of path. Very few places actually go by the DuPage River, but you can see it they the trees and at certain spots. The creeks around here are small but lovely.

My brother moved into a new home in the area and while visiting them, took us here. Beautiful nature area. Good walking path, kayak launch area and flowing water. Picturesque

Glorious 🤩 Magnificent 👌 Inspiring 😍 If a picture is worth a thousand words, then... Walking paths clear of debris. Vista views to restore spiritual equilibrium. Bike riders respectfully observant.

As I strolled along the trail, I couldn't help but admire the lush greenery, the gentle rustle of leaves, and the occasional glimpse of the tranquil river that runs alongside. The park's bridge, located at Bridge St, is a focal point and a must-see. Crossing the bridge allows visitors to appreciate the stunning vistas that surround the area. Had a great time. Our family went tubing down the dupage river. It was lots of fun and the water wasn’t very deep so we felt safe with our kids. After tubing we looked for shells, skipped rocks, and had a picnic. There’s a playground and splash pad along the river as well. Had a great time.

Very beautiful forest preserve, great hiking trails and an amazing view of the DuPage River.

Hammel woods is always the best. The forest preserve is well taken care of and has paved trails and unpaved trails. During the week it is empty but during the weekends it can get a little crowded. Absolutely wonderfully gorgeous!

It's a nice place for a walk. The river is very pretty there. It's always pretty crowded so you can feel safe. Great place to spot Bald Eagles along the river too. Just know that it's also known as a pick up spot for men.

I'm very upset that they removed the dam it used to be a special place that my husband took me to on our 1st date and we watched the sunset rise. We still go he likes to surprise me but it's just not the same it's not as beautiful as it once was

Well...we stopped to have a quick pic nic. It was clean and most areas were mowed this time around. I noticed a man sitting alone drinking beer (he looked 2 sheets to the wind). Police drove thru and kept going (I could see the blue cans sitting under the table). O well...live and let live!! He was not bothering anyone 😀 Teen kids were standing and playing in the river. It's really a quiet recreational place! I guess they tore out the platform and waterfall. Not sure what the plans are. The air smelled so sweet from all the grasses and it really us tranquil to watch the river flow!

Great wooded paths for walking on. Very scenic. They have water access there for tubes, canoes and kayaks since they got rid of the river dam recently.

Great place to quickly get away from the grind of life and remember that there's still a lot of beauty in the middle of the suburban life. Never crowded, lots of wildlife and a river to boot. One of my favorite places in the area. Also enjoy the monthly activities they plan. Very informative and great free activity for adults and kids.

One of the best forest preserves in this immediate area. There's a paved trail and dirt trails that are really adventurous. My kids love coming to this one because of the ups and downs, ruggedness, and access to the DuPage river and smaller creeks within.

I love Hammel woods. I used to walk these trails with my dog. I would let her off the leash (back when there was no dog park) and she would run like the dickens through the woods. I am going to miss the dam, but the new area is nice too.

Nice path to bike or walk. You can take the trails into the woods and get a little cardio with the hills or stairs. It's clean, not usually too busy and kid and pet friendly. If you bring your dog please have it on a lease since otherwise have theirs. They have a big pavilion got haven't checked that out yet.

Hammel Wood Forest is a beautiful place for just about anything outdoorsy. Lots of space, plenty of grilling spots, fishing, and even hidden and open trail you can walk to get nicer views and meet some cool people while on the trails. Overall great park and great experiences.
