    The River Oaks Macy's located in Calumet City, IL is terrible. From beginning to end, my visit was TERRIBLE. I arrived at the store at about 5:20....didn't get home until 7:45. I wanted curbside pickup so I followed the instructions on the email which said Click curbside pickup. You're checked in, we'll be out with your order; be prepared to open your trunk and don't let your window down, we can scan your barcode through the window. I sat there for about 20 minutes and then called the number on the email only to get a rude employee on the phone who refused to listen to my dissatisfaction with the instructions on the email. She basically cut me off and said that you should've called the number on the sign. (I couldn't even see the phone number as it was dark outside)I responded by telling her that I understand what you're saying now listen to what I'm saying. I explained that the email led me to believe that I was checked in and my order would be out shortly. She proceeded to just connect me to the department for curbside pickup. The phone rung about 40 times with no answer so I hung up and called back. The same lady answered, I told her that no one answered so she put me on hold again. Finally someone came to the phone. I gave her the requested information and she took another 20 minutes to come out with my order. Her name was Regina and she was THE WORST representative for Macy's that I've ever seen. She came near my window but I couldn't hear her through her mask so I had to crack my window. She was asking for my name, I told her and preceeded to tell her about the flaw with the email check-in. She totally ignored me, turned her back to me and got my order off the cart. I was saying that you're supposed to put the order in my truck she just stood at my window with it and then put the box on the top of my car and walked away. I was FLOORED. Therefore, I HAD to go inside the store,which I absolutely didn't want to do hence Curbside pickup. I waited for a manager for another 20 minutes and by that time I was bowling mad so I didn't even ask for her name nor did she ask mine....poor customer service. She showed no empathy for what I had gone through and finally apologized at the very end of our conversation. I will no longer use that Macy's store again which is absolutely terrible since it's 5 minutes from my house. I left River Oaks Macy's A TOTALLY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

    Decent enough selection. Went for my son an outfit and that section can stand an upgrade, but I still found him something. Seems like their focus is on perfume and cologne because that section is always busy.

    I don't see why people of color even shop at Macy's in River Oaks mall. They dump a bunch of overpriced garbage there for people to buy. Customer service is terrible. Merchandise is way, way over rated and priced. Yet people buy and brag I bought it at "Macy's" in River Oaks. Shop where you and your money mean something for quality merchandise and customer service. 10/28/22 THE is becoming a warehouse.

    My husband and I went to Macy's because they had a great deal on coats and boots for me. We found what I was looking for and the female sales person in the shoe department was very nice and helpful. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. I paid for my items and then we left the store safely.

    Macy's was okay and worth staying. Mac is by the door, it should be moved to another area by socks because of the crime in the mall. Macy's should make the mall owners put up extra lights outside. As it gets darker .....it is scary when getting out the car needs security at their doors.

    Great store Staff is always friendly & eager to share deals with customers. Got lucky today & grabbed some adidas football gloves marked down to $1.49 thanks to staff bringing it to my attention. Also grabbed the matching hat for $4.83. Special thanks to the two lady's working the polo section cash register. Awsome deal & because I saved so much on those items I splurged a little more & purchased a couple pair of pants & a couple shirts.

    I had to return shoes and decided to stop at this Macy's since it was on my way to visit my mother in law. The service provided was stellar. I looked on my receipt for the salesperson name and only saw associate 71115670. I truly hope this identifies the associate who went out of her way to assist me at the River Oaks Macy. She was truly professional, caring, and deserves her flowers. This store had so much to choose from, and although the shoe I picked was out of stock in my size, she helped to order the shoe online. Really like visiting this store always nice people to assist when I have visited.

    I had a wonderful day shopping at Macy's! The lady at the Estee Lauder counter was knowledgeable and efficient. The prices and sales were all over the store and I was able to get quite a few things even during this budget conscious time we live in!!

    I never go into Macy's but my neice shops here alot. Went when it opened it has different hours than mall. Staff is awesome very helpful. Great sales. Upstairs has a very clean and well maintained lavatory. There's also clearance up there really nice prices. Will comeback again.

    This is my own opinion and I’m a Macy’s supporter but ever since the pandemic I feel like the quality of clothing has not been the same. I have bought several items and I have not been satisfied with them and I found myself returning them all. The quality of clothes looks cheap.

    We had to pick up a fur hat from the furrier vault. It was a long wait for it to be completed. We were satisfied with the outcome. We did learn that department of macys will be closing.

    I remember when this Macy's had the 5 star service. Full makeup , perfume and the restaurant downstairs in the lower level. The store needs to step up the merchandise selection. The outdoors garbage cans need replacing and emptying on a daily basis. Today is Saturday morning and the outside garbage can is overstuffed. This could me management property problem. The selections here don't compare to other Macy's stored, but it's passable. Overall...just needs more staffing and merchandise.

    If I could give zero I definitely would! Stood at the perfume counter looking to buy some Chanel Chance and was COMPLETELY IGNORED! I’ve never been so insulted in my life. And the fact that 4 women looked me dead in my eye and NEVER asked if I needed help!

    Jayniqua in the upstairs Macys department was unprofessional, rude and talked about her co worker to another co worker about going to lunch before her using terrible language while me and my family was standing there trying to get rang up at the register. She ignored our needs and when I was talking to her she didn’t give me the respect of listening making eye contact and seemed like she didn’t even care about what I was saying at all. She needs to be talked to about her attitude.

    I like this Macy's, because it is huge. I'm able to get the latest from Sean John, Levi's and Nautica. The perfume counter is beautiful. And I just recently discovered the new clearance room upstairs called BACKSTAGE. Picked up 2 coats at a great price. Go check it out.

    It's truly a shame how Macy's would allow any of their stores to accumulate so much trash outside the front of their doors. Not even a clean bench to sit on. One of the two stars I gave was for 50 percent I got off my jacket

    Not the same great customer service received in the past. Prices were already high, now they're even higher but the quality of many of their items has changed, gone down. They need to go back to the quality and customer service of when it was MARSHALL FIELDS.

    The store has really went down over the years. It's gotten a lot messier, it's hard to find quality items, most of the time it's out of stock and you have to order it. It's not like it was. I'm sorry but I miss Marshall Fields. Call me old. Also the parking lot is terrible. There are no lines to distinguish between cars. Don't let it snow then it's a big mess but this is mainly for the company who manages the property. I'm surprised they have re-tar the lot and put new lines down by now. In my opinion, it's a possibility the store may be going away in a few years because it's not as nice as it was and they're not maintaining it like they used to either. When I visit Orland Park or Oak Brook, I can see the difference. Ijs

    This Macy's is good except for the sales associates in the Lancôme products section on the first floor. Two young ladies not interested in helping us pick out some items for my disabled Mom who was right there and asked for assistance. One said she was just a Lancôme vendor and walked away and the other claimed her register was broken and appeared to be taking a break right on the sales floor.

    This Macy's is ok but does not have the amount of choices like State street or Orland especially with the perfume, makeup and shoe collections. When I order online it's a quick pick up location because it's less congested especially with the parking. Very friendly customer service. Overall I rather go to this location personally because even if what I want is not physically at this location, it can be sent there. I don't browse in stores anymore and prefer to shop as safely as possible which is online for me.

    Pretty typical Macy's with lots of selection on 3 floors (plus so happy to see Frangos!!!). It would be helpful to put a store directory on the main floor, not just the top floor. It took me some time to find what I was looking for, but it was in stock in my size as indicated on their website. There are limited cash registers open, but that is most department stores. Staff member was very friendly and helpful. Much nicer on the inside than the outside of the building.

    Unorganized! As a plus sized woman, it is very disappointing to go to the rack that says it's your size and not find 1 item that is. Hire people that will stock properly. I never thought this would happen at Macy's.

    I will never order shoes from their website again. I ordered 3 pairs & had them sent to the store so in case I needed to return the shoes, I could right then & there. I kept 1 pair, returned the 2nd pair. The 3rd pair wasn't the shoe I ordered😤. They wouldn't let me return this pair in the store. They said I had to take it to a UPS Store🤬 because it wasn't listed on my receipt. And it wasn't the pair I ordered!!! This is the reason I had my order sent to the store so that I could send it back right then & there if a problem occurs. And also it was THEIR MISTAKE, but I have to take the shoes to another location(UPS Store) I as the customer should not have to make a trip to another location due to their mistake😤🤬 It makes no sense that they can't handle this issue in their store!! I had to call the 800# while in the store & they said the same thing, apologized & said they would send me a return label to my email. This is horrible customer service!!!

    Poor rude service for this to be Macy’s, a High end store with very poor services. The Young lady Tianna Brandon her co worker Veronica were very helpful. Tianna being a new employee in the cosmetics department, went above and beyond to help me, while her coworker Veronica being new as well stood by her side all the way through the process of helping me with my purchase. Tianna called for a manager but the manager never showed up. It was said the manager was helping someone else but for me, someone could have came far as manager to help the situation. Remind me to not go back to this location. Just down right unprofessional people who work there. Even this Caucasian woman came and tried helping but she was rude and unprofessional as well. Ringing up a customer on the register Tianna was using, didn’t say excuse me I need to use this register or anything of that nature. So sad. IJS what happen to Macy’s. Not like it used to be. Just there for the money and not the customers. SMDH

    I've seen Macy's in all of it's glamour & beauty. I was a Calvin Klein Specialist and organize the new Last Act area. It's ashame the employee shortages the Last Act area looks like a second store.

    Majority everyone was so friendly, except an African American lady that she was standing behind my friend the whole time she was checking out a product. That felt uncomfortable since we would look back and she wouldn't say anything yet just right behind my friend this lady works there. My friend bought what she was looking for and we left. Other than that we had a great experience.

    I just cut thru the store on my way to another store. But noticed Macy's was a nicely laid out store. I cut thru the Men's department and had to slow or stop to check out the great sale on mens suits. Big selection and choices on colors and labels. Some unusual, trendy, and a departure from the same old same old Black, Grey, or Navy. The store had a good number of customers and shoppers for a Monday . Nice store.

    It will be helpful if employees were trained better on how to search for a item. I went into the store today 03/10/23 to purchase a fragrance two employees told me they don’t carry that item now I know I seen it online saying it was in stock. So I left the store and placed my order online for curbside pickup and it was ready for pick up in roughly a hour. How inconvenient.

    Macy's has a Toys r Us section. I go there Christmas shopping for grandkids. One shop store it had every toy I was looking for. This is my second year going there. A fun place to shop.

    I went there looking for clothes and shoes for a business dinner at a upscale restaurant in Chicago with my boss and co workers. The business suits were expensive and too business like for the occasion. The shoes looked used and over priced. I wasn't impressed with the show selections. No help in site to assist me. However ,I recommend shopping at Macy's if you are buying women's perfume or mens cologne. If you need upscale beauty products come here, but if you're looking for shoes, I would not recommend them for shoes.

    There's like nowhere to pay for your stuff so plan on walking around aimlessly til u find the cosmetics counter n they let u pay for the Franco mints there. 90% of customers had their masks pulled down past their noses. And finally the other customers are rude af dropping doors on children, not watching their own kids, n excessively loud for no reason.

    Searched for boots for 2 days in a row at River Oaks Mall. Came back to Macy's & bought the last pair of Uggs on display. Fit perfectly. Huge Mall only Macy's had boots. Still miss Marshall Fields name. Why only 4 stars. Loyal.

    Not enough support in noncommissioned areas. This is the second time I've tried to shop in store and had to leave my items. A high end store shouldn't feel like waiting in line at Walmart on a Sunday afternoon. Macy's in other areas is still on course with stores such as Lord & Taylor or Von Maur. I'm disappointed in the store, brand and especially the location.

    Please don’t use the klarna company they use to spread your payments out. So you can pay over four payments. They take money out of your account every 3 days bit by bit. This klarna company is very nasty. You can’t talk to they send the nastiest emails back when you question how they are taking payments. I will never opt using klarna again.

    I love Macy's. I ordered online for pick-up. The line went smoothly and fast, especially me being on a time frame. The in-store pick-up went so quickly that it gave me time to pick up a gift for my great-niece for Xmas!

    Ordered a coat online and while checking to make sure it was the right size noticed the belt was missing, went back in to inquire about the belt the gentlemen at the counter stated well I don't know what to do. He called his supervisor and was told I could go upstairs and see if there was another one or just order another coat. No apologies, no our mistake. This young gentlemen, terrible customer skills. This little girl who was the manager, terrible customer service skills. I was there from 1:08 pm - 2:18 pm trying to solved this error by Macys. By the time I left 2 other young ladies had taken over my transactions, assisted me and ordered me a new coat. They were great. I was there
