First time back to the theater... Holes in the seats, trash on the floors, still love the place but it used to be the cleanest theater you could go to around here... Now it looks worse than showplace 12... It's like Marcus in Chicago heights before it closed... Was a little nervous to be there.... Everything else was great, a little unorganized but their teens first jobs and all. Other than the cleanliness and the need of updating to the seating, I still love the place... Not too many theaters even open anymore... Don't want to lose this one!!! Give them a chance, maybe they just need help from this pandemic... Going to the movies is one of my favorite things to do, don't give up!!!

The oldest, biggest and best theater chain in the world keeps getting better and better! Stopped in to see a movie this weekend and had a terrific experience. The lines were short and moved quickly. Staff were pleasant and efficient. The lobby was clean and orderly. visitors are welcome to wear a mask if they choose to, but it was not required at the time of our visit. They offers a variety of snack options, from the fresh and delicious popcorn AMC is famous for, to candy, pizza and more. This particular location even has a full bar, serving beer, wine and cocktails. We saw a regular show (IMAX theater is also available) and the theater was clean and pleasant. The seats did not offer a reclining option and arm rests were fixed and could not be folded up, but they were nonetheless sufficiently comfortable for the duration of the movie. The restrooms were also clean and well-kept. We were pleasantly surprised to see an array of EV charging stations in the parking lot, for visitors to charge their vehicles while watching a movie - such a great idea! Overall, a terrific experience from an American institution, will most certainly return time and time again. There's really nothing like seeing a first-run movie on the big screen!

Nice movie theatre. They even have a full bar, which was surprising, but holy potholes. The parking lot looks like an airstrip that just took a bombing. Unless you have a tank or at least a monster truck and like your wheels and tires stay away from this parking lot.

I have been coming here for years but in recent years it has really gone downhill. The hallways are smelly and the seating feels dirty. Also, they really need to do more soundchecks. I saw a movie yesterday and the volume was piercingly loud :( On the bright side, the staff has always been great! I love having a movie theatre so close but I feel like there is room for improvement...

Imax was so much better than regular. Won't give away any movie details. Super clean theater. Comfortable seating, nice staff, haven't been to the theater since Halloween Kills. Very impressed. Thanks for a great experience.

This place needs serious upgrades. Starting with the outside and working its way to the inside. The parking lot is a death trap. There are holes all through the parking lot, so please be careful driving your car through there. Next inside the theater is outdated. The seats are old and not comfortable at all to sit in. Overall I would say find another spot to watch movies. This theater needs to be gutted out and renovated immediately.

Wow, this theater is just tired. I know it has been a rough couple of years for the industry but this theater is quite run down and is not keeping up with its competitors. Worn out, non-reclining, not even rocking seats, small screens and clear wear and tear noticeable all over. The sound was fine, the picture was fine, albeit small, but good luck staying comfortable in the high school auditorium seats during these more modern movies that are typically longer than they were when this theater was built. This place is overdue for a thorough refresh.

This place is a glorified dump. Honestly would only give it half a star if I could. Every time I come here I feel like no one cares about this establishment. Trash is all over the front of the building, theaters are filthy, and the hallways stink. On multiple occasions I’ve had where the staff rather stand around and gossip or play on their phones instead of helping customers out….. don’t even get me started on the quality of the theaters themselves. Seating that has never been touched since 1997, rips on the curtains around the screens, and most of the theaters have terrible audio. They offer an “IMAX” experience but let’s be honest it’s a total rip off. You pay premium prices to sit in an outdated theater with outdated seats. They basically just tried to fit a semi bigger screen and slapped some speakers in the corner then called it a day. It’s sad because I’ve been to other theaters in the area and their basic offerings are somewhat better than Showplace’s “IMAX” experience…. Do better Showplace do better….

I was there last Tuesday and I had the worst experience. Coke in the coke machine was flat. I kept trying different flavors, but they were still bad. Ended up with flat Sprite. The seats in theater four are so old that the cushioning is practically gone. I sat on a piece of board for the movie Oppenheimer. Also, the seats are dirty. Dirty and old. We have to pick seats now so I couldn't just move to another seat. The theater was pretty full. This place needs updating.

Great place to catch a movie. Clean and comfy. Some of the theaters could use more comfortable chairs, but still good. It's done some remodeling since the Vid and has a bar now. The IMAX is not on one of those immense screens, like in a museum.

This theatre was clean, nice size, and includes a small bar. That's a great way for you and the children to enjoy yourselves. My only complaint is that there were quite a few items on the menu that weren't available but the food that was available was decent. I'm definitely returning.

I hadn't been to the movies in a few years. I thought they'd all gone upscale and comfortable to justify high ticket prices, but that's not the case at this place. Upon entry, was expecting the wonderful smell of movie popcorn. Instead, it smelled like burning popcorn oil. Expected reasonably comfortable seats with cupholders. Instead, found blown out seats that reminded me of my youth at the dollar movies, and cupholders that allow a standard water bottle to drop right through and hit the floor.

Love their $5 fan favorite movie and their $5 Tuesdays movies. Popcorn is amazing of course. Could have cleaner theaters. The seats need steam cleaning u could see oil stains on them. Workers are so friendly.

Empty BEER BOTTLES rolling around on the already sticky floor, ripped cloth on the walls and a really bad smell tonight. AMC CORP, CLEAN and UPDATE THIS THEATER!!

The Only complaint I have is that my popcorn 🍿 it was a little bit salty, everything else was just fine , clean and nice

The movie I saw was great, staff was wonderful, concession stand was clean, neat and so were the bathrooms, the reason for only 3 stars is the parking lot has craters of pot holes so be careful parking, and Lastly the theater could use upgrading. The seats are old fashion and not that comfortable. Overall it's still a great place to take in a movie.

Their theater is decent. But for the same price I can get nice recliner seating and better food choices at the same brand (AMC) in other cities. The sound quality of my movie in theater 2 was a little off, not sure if it was echoing or what but some sounds were off only in certain types of scenes. Aside from that my Customer service was great!

A very busy theater, which is great thing to see again. Staff was super friendly and prompt. Theater was clean and the popcorn was hot and buttery. It's 3 stars because this was my first time back to this particular theater in almost 8 years. It has not changed much at all. The parking lot is the worst place I have driven through, and I really thought about that too. Thank goodness I'm in a van or I would have punched a hole in my oil pan or left my muffler behind. The seats are really old crammed in style with the non flip armrests. And leg spacing was tight. I am above Average in the human world but my very average wifes knees were against the seat in front of her. Maybe in another 8 years they will get better seats and the parking lot will just be one gigantic pothole.

Considering the cost of everything they need to definitely update their seating to much more comfortable chairs. Bathroom was decent. The sidewalk up front is very gross. Do they ever spray it off?

Jurassic Park didn't disappoint me. Was alot of different kinds of dinosaurs. Great movie and a quality time with my wife and our son Joseph and his girlfriend Jamie.

They accommodated my private party and we had a blast!!!!! Can't wait to do it again!

Worst theatre experience of my life. There were pre-teen children in the movie I sat through and they were completely unaccompanied. They were disruptive and annoying. Amazing to me the lack of responsibility of the staff to restrict the age of kids attending an R rated movie. The snacks I had were melted together (butterfinger bites). And the lobby and snack counter was cluttered and messy. Floors of the theatre itself were sticky to the point of almost walking out of my shoes and the seats are the "old style" that do not recline and are very narrow and uncomfortable. The movie I saw was barely over an hour and a half and when I got up my legs were almost completely numb. Another set of preens theatre hopped and showed up in the theater I was in and was even worse and more disruptive than the group that was there from the start. Not only that but they decided to get up out of their seats and stand in the entry cove of the theatre taking flash photos of themselves and being loud and obnoxious. When the movie was over I went to walk out of the theatre and the kids who were standing in the entryway left their cups and popcorn containers all over the floor. It's amazing how disconnected the theatre experience is now from what it was just 5 years ago. It's sad. And, I'll never go back there again.

Movie popcorn and butter never get old. Clean, happy, and relaxed environment. PS the nachos are so good. Get extra cheese and peppers ❤️ don't forget to get large popcorn and large drink.. free refills throughout your movie!!

Although the building is older the sound system is INCREDIBLE. Super clean bathrooms and if you're a night owl like me I can say they have the latest showings in North West Indiana, last ones usually around 11 which is hard to find. Big selection on snacks as well 😛

Movie and sound quality were good. I was a little disappointed with the snack bar area. Place really needs a deep clean. The area needs to be looked at from a guests point of view. I realize things are priced high because there are not many other revenue generating areas. The seats in the theater itself were terrible, heavy with stains and the cushions are just nonexistent. Quite uncomfortable, thank goodness the Minions was a short movie length.

IMAX experience was pretty cool and there's even a bar inside the lobby for adults. The drink holders on the seats are not designed for all container types be cautious when you place drinks in them. Prices aren't too bad but you don't want it on the floor. 😁

It's been SO LONG since I've been to the show 🎥. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of both food and tickets. The seats were comfortable, and I just learned you get to pick your seats like an airplane or a concert when you buy your tickets. Pretty cool.

Over priced movies, over priced snacks, but what can you expect with a trip to the theaters. Overall it was ok. Seats weren't the best like in some theaters it wasn't crowded when we went. If you have an EV they have free chargers, so that's a plus.

This happened 06/23/2023 around 10:15am. I was gifted some gift cards and went to use them but due to some data issues I could not easily download them to use them at the theatre. Jasmine helped me out tremendously, she was nice and understanding about the issue and even went far and above to download them on her phone and text it to me. I was just going to just pay for the tickets but thankfully she helped us out. Thank you again.

The theater is clean and looks to be updated, although I haven't been to a movie in almost 5 years. I can't believe there's a bar for adults to imbibe while their children watch films unsupervised. The prices are astronomical for everything, but I suppose the experience is still fun for some.

My daughter and I went to see Missing and it was great. It's been forever since the last time I went to the theater, so I had to get some theater popcorn. EXTRA BUTTER of course. Had a great time and the theater was clean and the bathrooms were fairly well maintained.

I have been coming to this location way back when it was a kerasotes theater. I muss the 5 buck club and seeing movies cheap. This location is a nice regular theater. They have upgraded quite a bit and have the new touch screen coke machines and a bar. The bar serves local beers like 3 Floyd's along with standard options. The snacks in large have remained mostly they same. They do, however, include a variety of different popcorn. The standard regular, Carmel, cheese, and as of my latest visit Oreo cookies n creme popcorn. The bathrooms are usually always clean. My only real con is that they still have regular seats. I wish they would start to add the recliners and couches. However, I may start to go elsewhere. I'm not a fan of being charged more for premium seats i.e. the middle of the seat row.
