The Odeon in Lyon at Fourviere rebels the importance of this city in the Roman Empire. Just one other city in the Galia had both a Theatre and a Odeon. It was built by the end of the 1st century, south, close to the theatre, it had room for about 3 thousand people. Poetry, speech, government meetings, etc were housed here. By the study of this ruins, you can see the outstanding engineering and the beauty of the decoration.

It's a steep walk from behind the St George's Cathedral thru mostly residential area.

Visit this place for a good view of the history here. Marvel at the history of this place as a small ancient Roman theatre and a Unesco site. It also gives you a good view of the Lyon area from atop, near the summit of the Fourviere hill.

Amazing venue for a concert. Appreciated the small cushions to make the seating a bit more comfortable!

Nice place, possible to visit for free from outside with no costs. Very easy to reach from the city Centre by walk. Great spot where to chill in the afternoon or have a nice sunset with good company.

It's free to wonder around, great experience for kids, nice intro into history without too much lecture. Great free view over the city. We didn't plan to wonder around, but spent 1,5 hour there with the kid exploring every corner

Not much to do. But for history and ruins lovers, the roman ruins are beautiful, and you get to see more if you look around. Its not only the stage, there are rooms, water streams and other things to see that date 2000 years back in time.

Definitely worth a visit! There are toilets - portable. Water to drink. Free entrance. Nearby is a museum.

Cool to be able to see Roman ruins in France. I’ve been to Turkey and Rome, but my mom hasn’t and it was great for her to be able to see a stadium. It’s also free which was really nice.

Not as spectacular as the digs in Greece, but still pretty cool.

I walked from Radisson Blu over to the Three Gauls, down to La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière (which is a must see) down to Theatre Gallo Romain and finished with Odeon de Lyon before heading back to the hotel. Bring water and pick up a baguette sandwich as you head up by foot.
