Might be English in name, but this place certainly isn't a welcoming pub. My friend took refuge on their sidewalk terrass as it was pouring rain. She had a crying baby to comfort and the terrass was empty but was asked to leave if she wasn't going to order. The owner was right there...

They closed the door with the key and they said that if you want to go outside you have to buy something. But if you didn't find anything appealing to you ? You're not obligated to buy whatever they ask you to buy. This happened during the light festival in Lyon

After we spent 15€ on a bad platter of still cold meats and cheese and some overpriced rounds of drinks my autistic friend just wanted to grab some popcorn out of the popcorn machine which was for free in the first place . The owner (scuffed undertaker) did not like that and put the Popcorn back into the machine ( very unhygenic). Very unpleasant and arrogant in the first place .

This is my third time visiting Gump's and after my last visit, I'm not sure how or what they could do to eclipse the level of service I received. I previously posted a favorable review and commented on the poulet chorizo pasta not being as spicy as I expected. I arrived for lunch and was surprised the staff recognized me from my previous visit, and my review. At this time I was informed that if I want my dish to be a little spicier, just let them know and they will take care of it. This surprised me for two reasons: being a busy location, they remembered me; second, they allowed for a dish to be altered, which is not typical in many restaurant locations in France. The pasta this time was definitely better than my previous experience, which was still great by any standards. The chicken and the spiciness of the chorizo was perfect. This, accompanied with a very attentive, friendly and welcoming staff, warranted an updated review and an additional star. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, or a beverage. Lunch entrées are very affordable, with several options in the 8 euro range that will satisfy most. Sit outside and enjoy the sun, or venture inside and experience a very nice pub experience.

Nice Irish pub close to the Perrache train station. The beer choice is not wide, but they are tasty. A must for groups.
