Great food, although my risotto was still a bit hard, their pizza is so good, small but tasty. The lemon dessert was delicious. Great service but this place is tiny so not much atmosphere. I'd go back and sit outside.

The staff was very helpful. The service was terrible (waiting time to get the dishes was unbelievably long) pasta was okay, pizza also.

How is it possible that one can be treated so nicely and so badly by a waiter in a span of 10 mins? Our son wanted pizza so this was one of the places we found in the area at that end of Lafayette bridge. We stopped by Chez Carlo without a reservation (to be honest we didn’t need one, the place had plenty of empty tables outside). We could basically chose table so we sat at a table that the waiter (who later treated us badly) picked for us at the end of the outdoor seating area, we had plenty of space for stroller, for the kid to play, for our pet dog, etc. so we felt we were being accommodated and given a good considered service. After a few minutes our son decides he doesn’t want pizza anymore. We tell to the mentioned waiter that we decided not to eat there and then he unleashed his unconsidered judgemental side and started giving us parenting lessons as he walked away with a monologue about how on earth a kid can choose the meal for adults, etc and “wishing us a nice evening”. We had a couple of bad experiences with French waiters in Lyon but I want to think we were dealt the bad apples of waiters and has nothing to do with food service in France but I don’t come to France often enough to give a significant evaluation. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t eat at Chez Carlo to rate their food but seriously with the service given in just 10 mins I’m glad we didn’t eat there.

THIS REFERS TO A DELIVERY ORDER. It was extremely expensive to order (14€ for a Margherita, 22€ for a lasagna) so I was expecting large portions instead the pizzas were super tiny and the pasta (truffle shells) was overcooked and there wasn't any sauce on it, just grated truffle. Portions in general are too small for the price, if the quality was amazing I would accept it but it was sub-par.

The service was great, very friendly and attentive. I had an eggplant pizza, it was very good, it tasted so fresh. The desserts were good but not great. They use what seems like frozen yogurt for the profiterole instead of real ice cream. The tiramisu had great flavor. Eating the pizza was a bit difficult as the table is so smooth that the plate slides around a lot when trying to cut into the pizza. I had to be careful not to knock into my drink.

I've been Chez Carlo three times but I consider one of the best places in town to have a real pizza napoletana or a good pasta. The waitress which unfortunately I coudn't see your face and I don't know her name was very professional and she was amazing. She was completely in control of the service at the Lunch time with all the tables complete. The food was great but the service made me want to come back many other times more. I definately recommend Chez Carlo!

Pizza was great! The restaurant could use more staff for the 8pm dinner service.

👍 Nice experience in this new restaurant. Gentle staff, there is a nice feeling. I recommend the salads which are super tasty and creative. Could not experience the fresh juice as the restaurant seems to have some teething problems but I will come back in a few weeks to try more.
