The menu is unique. First, 7 or 8 bowls, the common ones, are served and you can have them as you wish. Then, the main dish, your choice, will be delivered. As often as french restaurants, the one point I recommend is that you shouldn’t eat so much before main dishes, otherwise you end up leaving it, which is of course out of the manner. The taste was not so bad compared to the price but it’s not memorable to us, hence 4 stars for this place.

Never had a more copiouse meal in my life! Before the main course they bring you some traditional Lyoneis salads. Be carefull the bring you about 6 diferent ones. Then they bring you the what you orders. Everything is very tasty. Staff is friendly but service will take a while and they don’t have an english menu. Then the bring the desert which are four dirent tipes of sweets. All and all a nice experience.

You have to come here HUNGRY!!! It is a family style “buffet” where the servers will bring you bowls and bowls of entrees (about seven different types of daily meats) to start the meal. The set menu was 28 euros where you get to choose a main from about ten choices. My bf’s beef cheek was better than my quenelles. We asked for a glass of house red and white each but ended up with a bottle of red (brouilly). I am not complaining as it was tasty; but we did have some communication gaps. Just when you think you are about done. You will get a cheese plate and more unlimited desserts. Be sure to try pavlova; it was delicious. We were super full by the end of it..but were slightly disappointed by the quality and the taste of our meal.

It Is supposed to be a traditional bouchon. It Is located in the vieux Lyon and then some colleagues from lyon told me It Is not a food area to have dinner. We paid about 30 euro each for entree, main dish and dessert. Entree and dessert are served in big bowls that go from One table to another, you can have all the food you want buy the problem is that you Will not want It! It was terribile: pig nose, veal foot for entree, plums and egg White for dessert. The main dish was ok But i Will never come back here!

To be very honesty, I didn’t really know what Lyon taste. After having the greatest dinner, now I know part of it. The food is amazing. You will have 7~ 8 appetites to start, after those, 80 full maybe. So don’t be greedy, pls only take little portion. Otherwise you will regret you did not do that like what in felt. Main course is absolutely delicious! No question at all~ I am posting this before five deserts~

Food is good, but not delicious. Menu is a buffet of "starters"+main dish+cheese+buffet of "sweets". These buffets are bowls taken from customer to customer. The starters are actually elements of a starter dish, as is the case with the dessert. Main dish was good, but the sauce wasn't, and came in large quantity that I'm sure isn't discarded afterwards.

Our group of 6 ate so much it literally knocked us out for the night. Amazing variety of food via the bouchon style. Great place to be adventurous gastronomically. Ordered the sweetbread and it came in a divine cream sauce that had my friends dipping their bread in. Fun atmosphere - definitely consider eating here for the "bouchon" style experience !

At the beginning, I was very disappointed with the "salad" bowls: despite the different contents, the taste was almost identical because of the same typical lyonesse sauce. Then the main dish come and I was surprised! I expected more like a steak with onions, but what I received was cooked muscle, drowned in oil and covered with fried onion. I have never eaten a such a meal and I enjoyed it. But I left on the side the onion and the oil. Then the deserts come. We all liked them as reaching the final destination for this gourmet adventure. Now I know that the traditional Lyon food served in the local bouchons is not my type of food where you eat with your stomach, not including the rest of the senses. But you should try it and I assume you can like it very much.

If this is the typical lyonnaise cuisine I don’t want to try again. The concept of the shared bowl salads is disgusting and tasteless. You literally have 6 huge bowls that are shared among all tables. The main courses again nothing special.

Great and quaint "bouchon Lyonnais" (typical restaurant in Lyon) in the heart of the "old Lyon". Conveniently located not far from public transport (subway). The food is simply superb, if you are a meat lover (not for the faint hearted vegetarian!). All you need to do is order your main course and your cheese. The entrées are served "buffet style" however there is no need to get up, the waiters will pass bowls of salad, and other 'hors d'oeuvre" goodies from table to table, which create a great sense of conviviality, as you have no option but to engage with your immediate neighbours (tables are small and all touching each other). I had the saucisson chaud a la sauce Beaujolais which was absolutely divine! Don't forget to try also the "cervelle de canut" or "fromage blanc en faiselle a la creme" when it is time to eat the cheese, these are the typical bouchon lyonnais delicacies.. Same apply for desert, which is served as buffet style brought to you to the table once the dinning party next to you have been served! The place was packed and noisy, but this is the real deal. Our lady waitress was super funny and entertaining. Highly recommended. 01 dec 2023

One of the few remaining traditional working class Lyon restaurant - Un vrai bouchon Lyonnais. Make sure you keep some stomach room for the main course you have ordered!

If you are looking for an authentic bouchon lyonnais, this is the place! Be careful not to eat much of the starters, otherwise you will not enjoy the main course! Awesome!

Food is great! You can have a menu for 28€ with starters to share, main dish (very nice options), table of cheese and dessert!

The staff refuse to speak English, so it is very difficult to order and understand what is being served. The starters are served in large containers that go around all the tables in the restaurant so that each customer serves himself, which is unhygienic. The starters all tasted like vinegar. The first courses on the other hand were quite good but it was not a positive experience

It is one of the most authentic bouchon I ever visited in Lyon. The starter and dessert are basically shared with others in restaurant. They will serve the big bowls of assorted starters and desserts on your table like buffet and once you are done, they serve them to the next table. These plates are refilled when needed. We enjoyed that a lot and would love to come back. 1 star is missing due to their very slow services and short staff. There was only one waiter on Tuesday night for the whole restaurant!

Traditional food in an informal context. We didnt expect to be seated next to other people, but it was a nice experience. Do not expect an intimate place. The service was friendly and funny, our waiter spoke italian and made many jokes. As a Main dish I recommend the fricassee de poulet au saint marcellaine.

👍 Nice experience in this new restaurant. Gentle staff, there is a nice feeling. I recommend the salads which are super tasty and creative. Could not experience the fresh juice as the restaurant seems to have some teething problems but I will come back in a few weeks to try more.
