Ate there today and this restaurant was supposed to be my introduction to the famous Lyon cuisine! Unfortunately..... I ate here..... after a long day of sight seeing we were caught with a long list of lunch specials that weren’t available. So we decided to stick it out and eat there regardless. Took forever to get our order.. took a while to get our food. I’m the biggest onion soup fan and when we got our soup.. to my dismay instead of seeing a large piece of bread with melted cheese on top we received a few stale croutons and a small gloop of cheese inside the soup under all the onion. When we got our steak and tripe. There was this horrific smell coming from one of our plates and we realized the steak smelled putrid (as if it wasn’t properly refrigerated). There was no use of salt or any herbs or seasonings on either of our dishes. Bland. Tasteless. And smelling of decaying flesh. Did not notify us about the “no credit cards” until we were ready to leave..... very disappointed I hope we find better places to eat before leaving.

Not sure why the rating is so low. The staff was friendly, the service was attentive, and the food and pricing was good. The server kept refilling our water and bread basket without asking, and the atmosphere was charming. The dessert was delicious, the vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My daughter's pesto pasta was great, the only complaint was my son's steak was very chewy/stringy.

We visited this restaurant on a food tour around the city. We tried many different flavors. We were very satisfied. Very friendly staff.

Please people do not go to this restaurant its just a tourist trap. Dirty dirty, food is bad ! ordered oignon soup came cold, then a bavette same issue. Quality of food and hygiene is very bad, if u get to go there just have a look at the bread basket how dirty it is it will tell u everything about what's happening in the kitchen. Waiters don't care about feedback or customer. Just eat what we give u Pay and go. JUST AVOID IT.

Always check reviews first. Customer service sucked, food was good but not worth the price. There are a million other better options to choose from. Also they struggled to take card as payment

After an unplanned stop via Lyon (the capital of French gastronomie), I have decided that a quick google of a restaurant before visiting is more than necessary! Cold, rude waiter, subpar food... Shame as the choices are plentiful in the old town, yet with hot weather and a young family, decisions must be made quickly. So if your smarter than me and did some research, avoid this place!

Very disappointed with this place: - Cash only (but having terminal in the bar); - No masks and no sanitary pass check - Unreasonably expensive prices - Dishes non in line with menu. Personal is nice, but not really good place to spend time.

So: to be fair I think some comments are a bit mean. It's cute and central, they were welcoming and ready to help us with translations and explanations about dishes. I am not sure the food is genuinely typical but it was served extremely fast and hot (some wrote the food was cold) and the prices are ok, especially for the menu.

Amazing food with an amazing service. The view and the place is really enjoyable! Definitely a must if you want to eat delicious in Lyon.

I went to this restaurant for my birthday recently. Overall I was super pleased with everything!! The staff was super friendly and the food was extremely good for the price! It wasn't expensive at all and I left feeling very satisfied! Just a warning, the online menu isn't quite the same as the real menu. The quenelle actually costs 2 euros more and the desserts are completely different. I wasn't super impressed with the pannacotta but the quenelle was delicious and the onion soup was to die for! 10/10 recommend if you want reasonably priced bouchon lyonnaise!! :)

I cannot recommend this place enough! The staff are very welcoming and the food is so delicious! One of the best Tarte à pralines in the city. I normally bring my visitors to Chez Marie! I brought my mom here when she was visiting and she still talks about the meal!

Worst experience ever! Would not recommend the place for sure! We didn't manage to have lunch because the lady was really rude and disrespectful with us. We were a group a 4 people that wanted to try lyonnaise cuisine but we end up in the worst restaurant ever. The lady that was serving us started to speak angrily because we didn't read the menu on the street - she said we should have done that before entering in the restaurant. After 5 minute that lady being unpolite, agresive and mean, my wife stood up and left the restaurant. We were shoked about the experience.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Their card reader wasn’t working so they asked us to go to the ATM, which also wasn’t working. They then accused us of not having enough money in our bank accounts. We asked them to disconnect and reconnect their card reader, which they were extremely reluctant to do. Surprise surprise, it was a problem on their end and the payment went through. We received no apology for their rude behaviour. The most unpleasant, INSULTING experience to date. Avoid at all costs.

Its Just amazing, i took a Salomon salade, best i ever had!

I went here to get a coffee and I was just looking at the menu when a waitress was watching over me for a long period of time making it awkward and uncomfortable. I then sat down and without being given much time to look at the menu was asked what I wanted. It felt very rushed but luckily as I only wanted a coffee it wasn’t awful. However, at the end of our visit, we were told that we were not allowed to pay by card since our bill was under €15. I had to walk to the nearest ATM in order to withdraw cash. This seems stupid and not user friendly. It was not advertised to us when we arrived there that this was the case and as a result it was extremely inconvenient. When we were walking away after paying, the server was discussing his interaction with us with his colleague while laughing which makes me very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place at all.

Good service, not very fast, but pleasing service. Menu lyonaise 20 eur, thats cheap for this central location. Salad was perfect, main dish and desert not bad too

Best food of my life. MUST visit if you’re in France. Service is amazing, food is even better ❤️
