I went there to buy a water bottle with the fliteration system and they were sold out. Camille took her time in helping me locate the same bottle in a Decathalon downtown. Since I am visiting Lyon she explained the metro system and how best to get to the store. She was really patient with me as I had a lot of questions. Thank you so much for your help Camille.

I don't think the "Customer Service" at Decathlon truly understands the meaning of those 2 words. I made a purchase in the USA, I didn't receive the item, and the customer person managing my claim (Khalid) simply decided that they're not at fault, and that I would need to directly deal with the carrier they chose (and the carrier says there is nothing they can do about it). The last email from Khalid, was offering me a 10% off of a replacement order, as if I'm bargaining to get what I already paid for. There is an old saying that goes like this: "there is only 1 boss: the customer, and he can fire everybody in the company, from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else". I'm afraid Decathlon just lost a valuable customer, because of very poor Customer Service

I went mainly to the cycling section, found everything I need. One can find really good stuff for good prices (just avoid buying the cheapest inner tubes, like 2.9€ for two, they are pretty bad). And people there are so helpful and they speak really good English. Plus I saw some really good-for-value bikes. For instance, I was surprised with a 260€ B-twin bike, it has drop bars, so basically it's a road bike, but with 32mm tyres, which are a bit thick for a such bike, but perfect for the city (especially if you want to go through muddy or gravel shortcuts). Yes it has one chainring, but as I remember a 7 speeds cassete, with a wide gear ratio range (12-34). And after all it's meant to be ridden in the city, one don't need a really low gear ratio (like 1:1 for instance). But I don't think it's bad for climbs either, because 1.4:1 (i.e ~ 1.4 wheel rounds for one pedal round) as the lowest gear ratio is not bad at all, it's even better in climbing (depending also on the weight of course) than those bikes that come with 52|42 crankset and 11-25 cassete (the lowest here is 1.75:1). And also I was surprised with a 1000€ B-twin bike with Shimano ULTEGRA groupset (Ultegra is basically a Dura-Ace but with "less expensive" compenents). Perfect value for the price. If I had money I would've bought it (yea I'm still a poor student). Or at least bought the other cheaper one, which I didn't know before buying my not really good cheap bike. Love this place!

I've been there a couple of time and found the emploeé very polite and helpful. I went today to change an article that I purchased last week and everibody was really kind and helpful, I was really happy happy with the customer service.

Wide selection of items

We bought two touring bikes in Geneva and after a second puncture on a Saturday we decided to have the bikes serviced on Monday in Lyon and upgrade the tyres to puncture resistant. I sent an email late on Saturday afternoon and within an hour had reply from the Velo manager assuring me (in English) that everything would be done on Monday. What service ! And even better, on Monday we were greeted and the workshop supervisor was expecting us and completed everything to our complete satisfaction. Decathlon is a well organised chain of shops and has capable and motivated staff. Congratulations to everyone.
