How bad can a hotel be... and still call itself a 'hotel?' In my opinion, the rooms in this place can be described as disgusting. Without hesitation, I can say that this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Room 112 had no soap in the room, soiled and sticky carpeting, dirty walls full of food stains and fingerprints, broken dresser drawers sprinkled with hair and crumbs, mouldy windows with torn window blinds, stained and threadbare linens... oh, and no hot water in the shower. (I'm leaving out details concerning the clientele as this is not factual but just my personal opinion) I honestly worried that I might get insect bites sleeping on the clapped-out 20-yr. old sprung mattress... it simply did not feel clean! The guy with glasses on reception was friendly enough (maybe the manager Neil?), but other staff members made zero effort to be friendly or helpful: I think the staff realize that this place is a total dump, so they make no effort to apologize or help to accommodate guests. When asking for a dry towel (as guests are provided with 1 towel), I was rudely dismissed and told (quote) 'NO. They're all in the dryer.' If you're coming to Trades late at night for a bit of cruising, that's one thing... but please do consider staying somewhere else for the night and just come in for a drink in the evening. Blackpool is chocked to the hilt with cheap, renovated, and gay-friendly B&B's that actually have some standards. If you do choose to stay here, be warned: the rooms are YUCKY.

If you know Trades, you get exactly what you expect. The shower in the en suite needs updating but the room was clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere and entertainment. If you manage to wake up in time for breakfast, I can strongly and wholeheartedly recommend the 'full Scottish'. It is exclusive to Trades and definitely pne of the Blackpool highlights. Once tasted, never forgotten.

Great place for a great price. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Bar is open well into the early hours too. Decent mix of people and plenty of fun to be had. Will definitely be returning again soon.

Regular visitor, staff very welcoming and friendly. Reasonable bar prices. Good atmosphere. Nice place to chill and relax with a beer. Heard the food is good too, yet to try it.

Dirty and dinghy, terrible room that had obviously not been cleaned for weeks. The shower just drips out slow flowing water One face towel provided! Forget breakfast if you're an early riser Non hotel guests roaming the corridors early hours of the morning Good location for gay pubs Will never in a million years return here even if the room was free!!!! Disgusting

    1. Receptionist was lovely and welcoming upon our arrival 2. I booked ensuite and got a lovely room on second floor with Freeview TV, very comfy bed, shower and thankfully a decent fan, as it was VERY VERY warm 3. Hotel has recently been refurbished with lovely, private, outdoor garden in front of hotel with chairs n tables, freshly decorated lounge and bar, fresh carpets throughout hotel, lovely flooring in my ensuite which looked to have also been recently renovated 4. Breakfast Staff and Breakfast was lovely with cereal, toast, orange juice, coffee and full english all being available 5. Neil, Jimmy, Chris and Staff all lovely, chatty, and nothing too much trouble, advised remember to show room key to staff at Kaos for free entry. Have got to say (compared to our previous visits in 2018-2019), I was VERY pleased, and it's so good to see how much better the hotel looks now with all the refurbishments and cleaning that has taken place etc including the ensuite rooms. As a result of all the above, I would defo recommend trades to others and stay here again. (Just make sure you book an ensuite, as some standard rooms are awaiting to be refurbished) Jack
