Amazing place, very good price-value ratio in Stockholm - 150 SEK for the meatballs. Yes, the meals are prepared in advance, but when they serve it is perfectly reheated just if they would make it in front of you. The mashed potatoes are creamy, the sauce has an amazing flavour, which completes the meatballs. The water is free and the service at the counter is nice too. Absolutely recommended;)

Food sticked to traditional recipe, taking a whole different level of meatballs and braised meats among the others. Cool boss and always willing to share his restaurant and food stories

We enjoyed the Swedish meatballs and a pasta dish (they were out of lasagna) outside. Both were solid for the price. The meatballs didn’t shine as much as some reviews suggest but the sauce and potatoes were delicious. Solid spot for lunch at a reasonable price and above average food for the dollar, or krona.

What a hidden gem. We stubled upon this place almost by accident, and it was not mistake. All dishes are traditional Swedish and prepared fresh for the day. They are reheated in moisture to keep freshness. All dishes have a story behind them, a stew marinated in Coca cola, veal prepared for 24 hours etc. Everything tasted excelent. Chris was a great host with the presentation of the food and enthusiasm behind the concept. Value amazing, anywhere else you would pay at least double.

Visiting Mom's Kitchen was a beautiful experience. The host introduced us to the meals they were offering, telling about traditional ones and really providing an outlook into Swedish culture. After we picked what we wanted to eat, we also discovered that the water, salad bar with delicious fresh veggies and tasty dressings, coffee and rye crispbread were free! It was amazing! The food was good, thoughtfully served and we left the place full. The owner was really kind and friendly, as well as the other staff. Really recommend this place!

The place is a small shop with abt 4 tables. Food is more takeaway style but heated in a microwave, if dine in. Service is great. The staff explained to us what selections are available and was patient with us tourist. Selection is local food. Good for office lunch. But not great if expecting more. The meat and pancake lunch boxes, when heated, is quite rubbery. The surprise is the self-service salad. Fresh. Crunchy. Delicious.

We were looking to eat some authentic Swedish meatballs to dine in at a reasonable price. Mom's kitchen was exactly what we found. Fast, friendly and helpfull service and the food was tasty. It is a basic resturant but budget friendly and as a result, fairly busy.

I got the traditional meatballs. The meatballs were decent, but I didn't care for the mashed potatoes. They had a weird taste of fake butter that I didn't like. Unfortunately, I think I would have preferred going to Ikea (especially for the price that I paid).

Foods are pre-cooked. However, they are delicious with reasonable prices. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They introduced those dishes for us one by one before we asked them. Worth a visit!

Mom‘s kitchen was super awesome, the food is really good, and Christian was very knowledgeable about the history of Swedish meatballs. I definitely recommend that you eat here if you want to have some authentic Swedish cuisine while in Stockholm.

The place is easy to find. it is not big - there are places for ten people. The food is pre-prepared. When you choose something, they heat it up and serve it to you. It wasn't a bad meal. I ordered beef with vegetables. The beef was decent, but the vegetables were half raw. You get a free salad with every order (don't put the extra dressing on it, you'll thank me later). The main advantage of the place is good ration between price/quality.

We found this cozy little spot in Stockholm. There’s just a few tables inside. Tried the Swedish meatballs, and they were really tasty! Plus, the prices were surprisingly good for Stockholm. The service was quick, friendly, and super helpful, making it a great dining experience overall.

Staff was hospitable enough to explain what each dish was and the allergens. Takeaway style food that was equally amazing as it was microwaved when dining it. I highly recommend the bacon and pancakes.

Really affordable place. We had the Swedish meatballs and they were very good, just wish the food was hotter when served. You can also get free water, bread and salad with your meal, which you serve yourself with.

Pretty good! I don’t really know what authentic Swedish food tastes like, but if you’ve got an American palette, come here and give it a taste. The food is prepackaged and then heated when you order. There’s also free coffee, some matza like bread, and salad (which is just raw cabbage) as well.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Place is cosy but inviting. There are limited seats inside but they’ve made good use of the space to maximise tables. This is a good place to come for typical Swedish lunch, very affordable prices as well. Staff are very friendly and helpful!

Experience recommended! Very full but I recommend 100%. Stuff is fantastic 😍, they are very good people and the food is awesome, truly awesome and remember Stockholm is about 15€ for a normal lunch, other than McDonald's and rubbish food. Meatballs recommended and familiar environment. Even if you try in Helsinki or Denmark...here it's worty. You will feel in peace 😌

Very good food my friend! 💛💙 Cheap and tasty, inspired by American 🇺🇸 army, but in swedish 🇸🇪 style. Great insight into traditional swedish cuisine. Amazing storyteller. Huge Golden State fun and ex Lakers fun (rightfully 😍), knows what Lebron is all about. 💯/💯

Tasty food, kinda Swedish I guess, including meatball dishes, pasta and stew with rice or potatoes. Cozy restaurant with super polite people that work there. Value for money especially if you want to grab a quick bite. Even though I saw a lot of foreigners, including myself, the shop has a local vibe to it. I would recommend for sure

I've found it on Google before a trip to Stockholm. It was great. The concept is that you choose your meal (I took meatballs and my son carbonara), they heat it and put it on the plate. Plus is the waiting time is practically no-time. The food is fresh and really tasty.

Tremendous host! Friendly, talking and open-minded. Traditional Swedish meals are great and cheap for Stockholm. Saw a Swedish guest here. Regarding to the bad reviews: I don't know why. They don't cheat. They say it's cooked in a central cantine and they warm it up so the cost gap is given to the guests. Maybe they should change the plastic packaging into something else. However: the meals are really tasty!!! So for me: Highly recommendable because I would like to enjoy dinner here again! All the best! Max and Claire

The lady serving was not very helpful. The food choice was very limited. I would not go here again. We asked for tea and she gave it without milk, and then after requesting it from her she almost laughingly said we don't give it with milk here in Sweden.

A very well recommended place on TripAdvisor, so I walked 18 minutes to get there. But I found pretty small portions, and not much space to sit during peak hours. So I had to eat fast, but not a problem because there wasn't much on the plate. The food was pretty decent, and the customer service was great. Would recommend to eat there if you're close by, and not too hungry

Meatballs vere great! Love that the meal is precooked so you see exactly what you’re getting. Also love that if dining in you can have a salad, water, coffee and a piece of bread with the meal for free. And to top it off the staff is so friendly and helpful.

Small place with few tables inside and outside (we had to leave the stroller outside the restaurant). The food was really good, we had the meatballs and panbiff, and they were both great. Great price for the quality of the food. Sweden style restaurant: you have free water, you serve yourself with forks and knives and you also have some bread. Totally worth it!

  • 5/5 Adriana G. 5 years ago on Google
Home made swedish food, the young men in charge of the place is always glad to explain the daily, and swedish dishes, the perfect spot for the tourist to taste what home made cooking is like, quality is way over the price you pay.

Very poor restaurant. Food is ok (poorer than McDonald's), very tiny room and not the cleanest ever. The waiter is very friendly but it's not worth the visit for that. The WC are ridiculous. Don't come here.

I can't express how much I loved this place. The staff was super nice and helpful, the food was delicious, and the place was just as cozy as one could wish for, on a cold, rainy, grey day in Stockholm. I can't recommend this enough as it was probably one of the best experiences I had in a long time in Sweden. Loved it and whenever I'm back I'll surely pass by again for lunch.

Nice place in the city to try Swedish home style cooking. The staff explained all the dishes to us. The meatballs ran out when we were there but we enjoyed the veal with mash and lingonberry sauce, and sausage curry. Hearty portions. Few tables so best to book ahead. Total 300kr for two dishes and a drink.

BEST MEAL I HAD IN A WHILE! This pace is super cool. And it's a proof that you don't need to be a fancy restaurant to serve food with so much soul and flavor. It might seem like a simple comfort food restaurant, but I think that it gives comfort food a while new meaning. The owner and the staff was very nice and friendly which also really made me feel like I'm home. I ordered the beef with the root vegetable which was just AMAZING. It's definitely the best place I've been to in Stockholm and now one of my world's favorites.

The restaurant is soooo nice. 5 huge meet balls with potatoes is 160 SEK. The taste and the texture of the meatballs are perfect! Also there are salad, bread, water and coffee for free, which you can eat so full. The best part of the cute small restaurant I would say is the shopkeeper. He’s so nice and enthusiastic, pretty friendly with all the customers ☺️ highly recommended!
