Delicious combinations, in a very surprising set of dishes. The menu is concisely indicating which ingredients to expect, but be prepared for the unexpected as you'll find your fish and meats done three times differently all competing for your f(l)avour. Martijn and Alison present their superb combinations without pretence or brawl. They just want you to have a great evening with really really great food and wines. Don't be fooled by the simple menu as you'll be surprised with a wonderful combination of food you can recognise (lamb, pork cheek, lobster) usually casually accompanied by the odd wink from the molecular kitchen. Whilst I am not a fan of the latter, 55 offers a great way to enjoy your traditional food in multiple ways and be genuinely surprised by the combinations on your plate. If you want traditional food; stay away. If you want superbly done amazing surprises on your plate; look no further. A great addition and unique to Maastricht. Bound to become a bucket list item by word of mouth.

Maastricht has a number of very good restaurants but this was an experience on a whole other level. No words, extremely worth it. Ambiance is great, feels like being in someone's home, the small team is knowledgeable and very friendly.

Ever had food so amazing that it made you angry? Like, Restaurant 55 has figured this out, why can’t all restaurants get it? We had the chef’s three course and it was one amazing experience after another. Staff was so friendly and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended !!! Raw chickpeas were delicious 😉

Very nice and well cooked and prsented food. Wonderful ambiance, very stylish. However the portions were just a bit on the small side. Delicious though they were. Nice and full flavours. And the price is therefor maybe not that high.

Excellent dinner, enjoying the full course menu with accompanying wine selection. Creative dishes with outstanding experience of taste. Humorous yet perfect service. A perfect dinner experience to be repeated.

Due to a last minute cancellation, we were able to get a table for 4. We booked because of the amount of amazing reviews and they certainly did not dissapoint! The ambiance, service, food quality (and originality) were absolutely sublime! Especially the waitress that served us was fun and engaging but not over the top was a delight! We will definitely come again and recommend to anyone visiting Maastricht!

I pass through Maastricht occasionally, but now I will come more often. As a foodie, this is everything you want. Interesting ingredients, wonderful flavours, well presented, well served, great wines. 3 course set lunch that was perfect in terms of volume and flavours. And a lovely venue. Well done!!

One word … pure of JOY … lovely and cozy place with an amazing personeel… and what they serve it is just incredible, amazing 🤩 when you can enjoy the texture, the taste , the flavour… you feel in Heaven ❤️

Favorite restaurant in Maastricht! such a lovely Christmas dinner yesterday :)

A real potluck find this place but we’re so happy we did find it! What a gem. The food is sensational and we couldn’t believe how reasonably priced it is for the quality. The service is excellent and the atmosphere just perfect it’s so cosy and relaxed, we couldn’t believe it when we realised we had been there for three hours!

Visited with a group of 6 and chose the 6 course menu with wine, caviar and oyster to start with. Cozy ambiance with jazz music in the background. Staff is friendly and takes care of their guests. The duck was incredible.

One of the best dining experiences I can remember. Six courses with wine pairing and amuse-bouches.. can’t say enough good things about this place

Wow what a great place. The beefcheek was amazing when we were there the staff was super friendly. Make sure to book ahead. It wasn't vegan or vegetarian friendly but definitely tasty.

Had a wonderful dinner at this place. Went for the 6 courses with matching wine and coffee included. The staff was very friendly and relaxed, not as tight as some of the Michelin star places but this place definitely matches the quality of such places. Interesting dishes and wines to go with it. Definitely coming back when there is another menu! Best place I’ve been to in Maastricht.

Such a lovely restaurant! We chose this restaurant based on good reviews when we were passing by Maastricht after a weekend away nearby and I am so glad we found this little gem! From the aperitif & oysters, amuse bouche to dessert, everything was wonderful and creative. The hostess is very charming and super friendly, explaining everything in English and again in Dutch. Such a nice evening. Highly recommended!

Excellent food, excellent service and probably the most favorfull & balanced dessert I've ever tried. We went for the 4 course meal and we were very full and happy afterwards. Great value for money! A must visit when in Maastricht.

A fantastic culinary experience, so good we booked a second night and were blown away by the new taste experiences. Go for the matching wine options it’s perfect, thanks to the lovely staff for two fantastic evenings. We will be back. Slainte Alison ( Ailish in Irish 🇮🇪).

Such a fantastic experience we had in this place. Every single dish was delicious, and the owner accommodated a dinner menu for lunch, as the evening was fully booked. We shall go back!
