The complementary bread is to die for!! I will never forget it. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had with some delicious food. Absolutely loved the escargot and the mussels. Everything cooked to perfection, and fresh. The staff were friendly and we got lucky to find an opening with no reservation but don’t be like us, instead make a reservation. There’s a long list of beers to choose from and each dish has a recommendation. Everything came in very large portions, very much worth the price. There are cute Belgian touches throughout the restaurant including a wall decorated with mini Manneken pis figurines.

Incredible culinary experience. The Pasteitje was heavenly, the witloof mildly bitter yet creamy, and the mousse indulgent. Pairing suggestions for each course with a Belgian beer fit the bill. Very friendly personnel. All in all, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Will be coming back for sure!

Incredible atmosphere, delectable food, wonderful service. Went to this family-run restaurant on the last night of over 2 weeks in Europe. Best meal I had by far. The blue cheese mussels were phenomenal, the krokets were perfect. Better yet was the beer pairing that came with each course, which added an extra level of intricacy to the experience. Also learned a lot about beer that I had never imagined before. As if that was enough, they make their own genevers too which paired perfectly with desert. To top off the whole night, some friends happened to pass by the restaurant and see me sitting inside near closing time. The owner happily obliged when they asked to join and gave us the beer tasting experience of a lifetime including rare beers not imaginable in North America. If I could give 6 stars I would and I will be back the next time I am in Europe even if it means planning a Maastricht leg of the journey just for them. Thank you so much!

Our favorite restaurant during our trip through the Netherlands. Great service and food from beginning to end. Our favorites were the Belgian Endive and White Wine Mussels. Can't recommend highly enough.

Flavoursome and rich Belgian cuisine in an intimate setting tucked away in a laneway by the old city walls. There are hundreds of unique beers and homemade jenevers to choose from and the staff and proprietor are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the chicken soup, meatballs in sour cherry sauce, the rabbit, and potatoes gratin.

Cute place, with a very impressive beer selection, and excellent service. Especially enjoyed the mushroom appetizer.

So so so good! It's definitely a must if you are in Maastricht. We've been several times now, to repeat classics and on a quest to try every single beer they have. To start with, the beer pairing concept is super cool. The gigantic menus add up to the mise en scène. However, the real star of the show here is the food. Excellent quality, French inspired, authentic comfort food that feels like home. I suddenly was on one of the last scenes of Ratatouille, when Food Critic Ego first tries Remy's food and goes back in time to the dish his mother did. There's not much else to say, just go there and let yourself experience this beautiful place. Two navigation advises: the place is super small so reservations are mandatory. And portions are VERY generous. With the delicious bread and all the side dishes, you will be easily full, so choose wisely.

A few people had mentioned this restaurant as a place to try. I am so glad we did. The owners were not only delightfully friendly but they truly were passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Belgian food. It was delicious. The mushroom appetizer, the mussels, the friets, the cherry glazed meatball, the beer pairing. The biers of Belgium! It was a very unique experience to have so many beer options and have them paired with food items. You must make a reservation as there is limited seating and the experience is one we will never forget. Wonderfully located, decorated, delicious and memorable. Absolutely fantastic Belgian food. The vibe is low-key and relaxed. The interior is quant. The service is really good. The beer menu is intimidating, but the servers can help you there. You should not miss out on the homemade jenever! I'd go back in heart beat.

Really cute place with a unique Flemish vibe runned by a Belgian couple. Quirky menu items and an impressive beer menu. I appreciated the pairing suggestions on the menu which was actually really a good combination. Be sure to book because it's a small restaurant and always busy.

Belgian eetcafé, great traditional dishes such as escargots, witlof, meat balls from Liège, mussels, rabbit and of course beef stew 🍲. High quality food with a massive selection of beers, some of them very difficult to find elsewhere (check photos). For the Belgian Burgundians this is a must!
